Every day, hundreds of thousands of new Android users get their phones, and out of that hefty chunk, we’re sure there are more than a few of you who would like to learn how to use your phones to their fullest potential. Introduce Android 101, a series of guides, tutorials, and how-tos where we attempt to answer those burning questions whenever you first take your phone out of its packaging. We were asked how one could use a song as a notification sound for incoming SMS messages – a sensible want and need. There are a few different ways that you can make this happen – some easier than others – but the easiest way is to use the Android market to your advantage. Just like you would expect from any app store, it’s there to add new functionality to your phone without you having to worry about complications. For today’s session, I use an app called Ringdroid to edit any audio file on my phone for use as a ringtone, a notification sound, or an alarm sound. How to Use Your Camera LED as a Notification LED

Friday 07th of October 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
Tap to enlarge Some new flagship Android phones are still missing the Notification LED. The app simulates an LED on your screen but you still have No LED. What if you could use your Camera Flash LED as a Notification LED? Option 1: Flashlight Notifier is complicated to use but free. Plus it can work with almost any app but there is no developer website or instructions. Option 2: Flashlight Alerts ($3) is very easy to use for Calls, Texts, Email, Gmail, K-9 Mail, and Google Voice. Even if you have a Notification LED, you can't miss the Camera Flash LED. So you can keep from disturbing others at home (or at work) but never miss seeing the flash. ↓Tap images for full screenSetupYou have 15 minutes to uninstall an app if your don't like it so we will setup Flashlight Alerts and test it right away. 1. Tap the then search for and install ($3) [not the Froyo one]. 2. Tap Flashlight Alerts to open it and then tap Test flashlight to make sure it works on your phone.3. Tab keeps going off

Saturday 07th of September 2013 / androidforums.com
My Samsung Note 10.1 keeps going off and on by itself.About five days ago, my little siblings used the tab till the battery went as low as 0% and went off by itself. We tried to charge it and left it for about a day to charge. Since then anytime we try to turn it on, the screen just lights up, displays the phone model and goes off. It continues to do that till the battery is exhausted. We have tried several times but the situation remains unchanged. Any help?

Festive greetings to everyone. I have a problem with the alarm on my Nexus 7 v2, which I've tried to switch off over the holidays, but it keeps going off every morning. This is what I've tried so far, in order (one per day):Setting the alarms to 'inactive' via the slidersDeleting the alarmsClearing the data for all apps that might still have them cached (Clock, Timely, Dashclock, Sleep as an Android)Deleting Timely and Sleep as an AndroidSetting the alarm volume to zero in ClockDisabling Clock I have read through the two other threads I've found here describing similar (though not identical) issues, and am at a loss as to what else try. The alarm extension for Dashclock still shows that the alarm is set, though if I click on it to open Clock it says there are none defined. Please can someone help; I'd been hoping to catch up on some much-needed sleep over the break, and this is driving me spare. I don't really want to have to factory reset the tablet and fence it on eBay, but short of switching it off and leaving it in a soundproof box each night, this currently seems like my best opt
