ZTE Valet: Can You Post the Pictures and Videos It Takes?

Tuesday 15th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I simply cannot afford the monthly contract fees associated with having an iPhone or first-rate Android phone. The ZTE Valet Android phone came out in the last month or two solely for Tracfone, a pay-as-you-go phone company. I am already a Tracfone customer and it sounds like the perfect upgrade for me. I just want to know whether Social Media apps like GifBoom, Vine, Instagram, Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook will really, truly work on this phone and the 3G Verizon network that Tracfone uses. I understand that they may crash sometimes, may be a little slow and that I may be able to have only one app open at a time. I just want to know whether I will be able to post the pictures and videos I take with its camera. Does anyone have any comments or advice for me? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app.

I have searched and come up empty which leads me to believe the answer is no but I will ask anyway. Is there any way to root my ZTE Valet? If not is there an app that will freeze the apps I don't want to run? I just want to set up my phone the way I want it to be and there are a bunch of apps that I want but require root.

ZTE Valet - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

/ androidforum.com
Hi,Since I'm new to Androids or any kind of smart phone, I'm not sure whether my questions are 1) specific to the ZTE Valet TracFone and 2) stupid. But I'm a big believer in asking stupid questions, so here goes:1. Any idea how to get my Google calendar to load? Should I buy the Google Calendar App on Play Store?2. I'm confused about when my phone is using data and when it isn't. For example, if I open my Google Calendar (once I figure out how to do that), it must use data to open the calendar. Does it, like, use data once to open the calendar, once again to synch it, once again to view an appointment, once again tocreate a new appointment?3. This is specific to the phone, but it doesn't seem to have a Prepaid menu, so I can't check my minutes and data usage without going to the Tracfone website and asking Tracfone to tell me what my usage is. I want to get an idea for how much data I use doing this or that on the phone.Okay, Those are my questions - thanks for any input!

ZTE Valet not compatable with square or ringcentral

Saturday 19th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
I just bought the new ZTE Valet Model Z665C from Straight Talk. Very nice phone and a real upgrade from the Samsung Centrina I had before. I am having trouble running a few common apps in particular Square Register and RingCentral. Both worked great on my Samsung Centrina running OS 4.0 .My new phone ( ZTE Valet Model Z665C with Straight Talk Prepaid/Verizon) is running OS 4.1.1 and has 1 GHz processor. My question is about the Android operating system. If an app works for a particular version, does it matter what the brand or model of the phone? I am trying to figure out if I need to return the phone and buy a Samsung or more common US brand.App problem 1: Square register loads, logs into my account and accepts typed data perfectly. It recognizes when I insert or remove the card scanner. When I scan the card I no response (no failure and no acceptance). I have tried the scanner on other phones and it works perfectly. App problem 2: When I try to log into RingCentral app, instead of it connecting to my account I get an infinite spinning circle with the message Connecting with server.

The Vine App and the ZTE Valet.

Saturday 09th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
The ZTE Valet (Z665C) Android phone running Jelly Bean 4.1 has been out for 2 to 3 months now, but the Vine app still does not yet support recording video on it. Every other camera-related app that I have downloaded is able to find and use the camera to suit its purposes, with the exception of QR Code and the First Community Credit Union check scanning app. The problem with those apps is not in finding the camera, but in focusing it. Since the ZTE Valet has only a single rear facing camera, it cannot focus clearly on something as close to the lens as a check or a QR code. However, Viddy, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, MapMyWalk, GifBoom and GIF Camera have no problems. What's up with Vine? I'd like to believe that it is just a question of an update and the problem with Vine will be solved. Would that suggest that the developers of the other apps I mentioned were more forward thinking than the Vine developers and sort of pre-updated their apps before the introduction of the ZTE Valet? Or does it suggest that MOST apps don't require an update to deal with a new camera phone

ZTE Valet

I see no link for the ZTE Valet in the phone list here. I see a lot of talk about it in Googleville, but nothing here... opinions? Seems like a good step up from my dopey Ascend.

What is root?/What does being rooted mean?Q: General Android phone FAQ's?A: Here is a thread on general Android Phone FAQ'sQ: How can I improve my battery life? A: Smartphones operate on a sort of spectrum. On one end you could put battery life, on the other end all those options like wifi/3g/sync (among other things). If you want great battery life you can't have those on all the time. If you want those on all the time, you won't get great battery life. It is best to find the compromise that works best for you and what you want most out of your phone. Here are a couple of things that you could consider - adjust the screen brightness, do not use live wallpapers, switch off networks when not in use (WIFI,

ZTE Valet TracFone

Thursday 05th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I am thinking about purchasing the ZTE Valet Tracfone but have a few questions. I just don't understand this data concept. If I buy a years contract I get 1200 mobile phone minutes, 1200 texts, and 1200mb of data. What I don't understand is: When does my data allotment get tapped? If I connect to the web using mobile web do my mobile minutes get deducted as long as I am connected? What gets deducted from the data allotment in this situation? Do I get one byte deducted for each byte sent and each byte received? If that's the case how long will the data allotment last? Would it be better if I only connected using wifi? What about GPS. Does anything get deducted when I use this feature? There is nothing anywhere I can find that explains any of this. Its like they start out assuming you already know a lot of basic stuff... HELP.
