ZTE Introduces Android ‘Skate’ Smartphone and ‘Light’ Tablet at MWC

Monday 14th of February 2011 / androidheadlines.com
The Second largest telecommunication company in China ZTE (Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment Company Limited) is jumping into the mobile phone arena. They held a small press conference to announce their new line of mobile phones and tablets.Their new smartphone “Skate” will be offering a 4.3 inch screen with a whopping 800 MHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, Adreno GPU and Android 2.3. ZTE is playing it quite safe. It was surprising to see an 800 MHz processor in this smartphone because the majority of the products had a 1GHz or 1.2GHz processor. This brings me to their tablets. The “Light” series of tablet had a bit more to offer. Light Tablet had a 1 GHz processor with a 7 inch screen. While the Light 2 had a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, WiMax and LTE radios built-in with front and rear facing camera.  Now that is more like it.Wrapping up the monumental press conference was the Light 10 that has the same specs of the Light 2 but with a 10 inch screen and running the new Android 3.0.The press conference was all-in-all pretty standard stuff coming from ZTE.Source: Phandro

ZTE Source (N9511)

Thursday 12th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
Those of you who own the N9511, take a look at the XDA thread! for the phone! We have a preliminary CWM build, thanks to Junkie2100, but it's not 100% yet. We also have root, thanks to Krsmqn. I've also managed to pull our partition table, identify how to obtain FTM and recovery modes, and how to make ADB and fastboot work. The problem is that we have no one working on a ROM yet. I dd'd the boot and recovery images, and used an online nandroid backup app to pull a .tar of the system image. They're available on the thread. We also hope to have a CWM backup of the full, stock w/root system soon. We've submitted a request for our own thread on here, through Junkie2100, and should have something set up soon. Until then, here's the images I have, maybe you folks can have a look and mess with them for awhile?system.ext4.img boot.imgrecovery.imgIf you have any questions feel free to PM me here, or come over to the XDA thread and see what's happening for yourselves. We really need some talented Dev's, and I'm sure we can raise some cash if we need to.

General Android phone FAQ's?2. How can I improve my battery life?3. Are there any ZTE Source Tips & Tricks?4. What are the known problems with the ZTE Source?5. Forum related questions.6. What is root?/What does being rooted mean?Q: General Android phone FAQ's?A: Here is a thread on general Android Phone FAQ'sQ: How can I improve my battery life? A: Smartphones operate on a sort of spectrum. On one end you could put battery life, on the other end all those options like wifi/3g/sync (among other things). If you want great battery life you can't have those on all the time. If you want those on all the time, you won't get great battery life. It is best to find the compromise that works best for you and what you want most out of your phone. Here are a couple of things that you could consider - adjust the screen brightness, do not use live wallpapers, switch off networks when not in use (WIFI
