Why is my phone slow?

Saturday 08th of December 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey all,Recently I have noticed that my phone has been really slow. I am running CM10 nightlies with Franco Kernel (1420Mhz). I chalked it up to the fact that I have been dirty flashing for a while. When I run AnTutu benchmark my scores seem on par with what it should get (a score of around 8000). But in daily use, the phone is slow. It seems to stutter and hiccup (my technical description) Typing is especially a chore. Once I start typing, it might take 5-6 characters in before text starts to appear. So recently, I was about to flash a new update. I boot into CWM and run a backup. This backup would normally take 5-10 mins. This was my first backup since I noticed my phone being slow. This backup took over an hour. So now I am suspecting that it isn't the Rom but maybe a hardware issue. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Why is my Epic slow?

Friday 21st of January 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I've been running an Epic since early November and I've always been pretty happy with it (particuliarly compared the Moment I replaced), but yesterday my wife upgraded to one and WOW is it faster then mine. Using the same WiFi network, she can open the android market it a matter of 2-3 seconds where my phone it can take upwards of 2 MINUTES! Now, here phone is basically stock and we've installed very few apps over what comes on the phone (nook, ipfob, upgraded the stock apps). Mine, on the other hand, has been running DK28 since it came out. I also use LauncherProPlus instead of touchwiz and I've recently rooted (but I have yet to install a custom kernel). Is it because I have too many apps installed? Is it something about LauncherPro, DK28? The other apps I've "upgraded" now that I'm on 2.2 (gmail, voice search, google search, maps, etc.)? Any thoughts? My reaction is that I've got too much installed (~100 apps in total) with only about 70 MB of free installation space. I would love it if my phone could run like her's. I realize I would get some benefit from ext4, but

performance - Why does my phone slow down after using internet and installing apps?

Monday 30th of January 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
I have Samsung Galaxy Y. I think that when I use wireless and installing apps, not immediately but after a while the phone slows down considerably. When it happens I must restart and when it turn on, then continues to operate normally.I don't know if this is caused by some applications I have installed or some other problem. When it occurs I try to free RAM memory with Samsung's task manager or fast reboot, but it doesn't help. After I read some of your topics, I don't use task killer anymore. It happens to me two or three times a day!Why my phone slows down, and only turning it off/on seems to solve the issue?

Android Forums - View Single Post - Why is Tethering So Slow?

Sunday 23rd of September 2012 / androidforums.com
Dear Contributors,The Original Questions:Has anyone experienced internet speed with PDAnet being maple syrup slow?Yes, PDANet can be very slow (for a variety of technical reasons). Are there ways to increase 3G/tethering speed?Yes - Here is my package of measures that increased my overall transfer speed.(ALL TESTED)1. Boost the radio signal you receive. Place phone in an aluminium pot (16cm diameter minimum). This measure was discovered by an engineer. The metal pot acts like a satellite dish amplifying the radio waves the phone receives. You will also receive a more consistent signal.2. Use PDANet Version 3.50 with Google DNS ticked in PDANet settings. The installation process is a 2 phase operation. Install Phone side app. Install PC side app. PDANet official website claims: "PDANet is capable of handling download speed of well above 35Mbps (35000kbps) over USB and is the fastest tethering software available for Android." (I have never seen transfer speeds this high on my connection). 3. Install an android app on your phone called Network Signal Speed Booster (made by McSt

Why is my 4G Hotspot so slow???

Sunday 06th of May 2012 / androidforums.com
Just added the hotspot feature to my Rezound. My 4G on the phone is blazing fast at 25-30mbps download with 4-6mbps upload consistently. Unfortunately, when I use my laptop through the hotspot, I average about 2mbps download and 4mbps upload. Why is it so slow??? I can't stand it.

Why is my Xtouch X708s tablet slow?

Thursday 08th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ok so I bought an Xtouch X708s. Specs at the bottom of this page: It's considered a cheap tablet but I thought it's genuine, it must run well. But the fact is. it's slow and unresponsive, it can run games, although takes too much time to load and lags sometimes. It runs ICS 4.0.4. I read an article about ICS that says: "According to some experts 1GHz Dual core processors with 512+ Mb RAM are essential. If your phone has less specs than this, don't worry.. You can get custom roms from developers like Cyanogen."I did all I could. factory reset, monitored all apps carefully, root, freeze bloatware, but still it's slow. There are no custom ROMs for this tablet. I'm just curious why is it slow? it's specs are not that horrible right? Is there something I can do? or must I get a new tablet? Thanks a lot

why does my phone charges slow and drains battery so fast?

Tuesday 04th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I've bought a new charger but it wasn't samsung. I plugged it on my phone and it charges sooo slow. So then I change the voltage power supply (samsung one) thing. And it charges faster. So then I went to school, (it was 99%)I didn't even use my phone much I only text. So when I come back home, my phone was 10%.Why is my phone like this? And another question, is it bad to have a different voltage with different adapter? (if youre asking whats the voltage and stufff.. Idk what is it..dunno where to look)
