phone all of a sudden keeps turning off and on

Monday 23rd of August 2010 / droidforums.net
My phone all of a sudden keeps turning off and on over the weekend. It has probably done it 3-4 times so far. It has not done this at all since I got the phone. I noticed though today it did it when I picked it up at work when going on break. When it turned back on a screen came up with what seemed like a tutorial for "voice search" and the voice search app seems to have been installed on my phone. I do not recall that app being on my phone before it turned off. I knew I saw that this would be an update with 2.2, but I have Droid X, stock 2.1. When I go to appbrain it also does NOT say "installed" (I haven't synced with App Brain since a few days ago), so that leads me to believe, no, it wasn't on my phone before it turned off. I'm guessing maybe that is why it turned off, it automatically updated my phone and added that? Seems kind of strange though. Then sitting here, before I typed this post, it restarted again. But nothing popping up once it turned back on. So that prompted me to make the post to hear what other folks are experiencing. Any suggestions? I would

Android Forums - View Single Post - Support 'Recent Activity'

Friday 23rd of March 2012 / androidforums.com
Hello! So very often I will be on my phone texting or whatever and suddenly my phone will start vibrating like crazy and going to random places off and on like Home then Search and it always ends up going to Recent Activity. It isn't hurting anything I guess but it drives me crazy! I do have a screen protector on it and it's pretty scratched but there aren't any scratches on the phone screen itself that would be pressing the buttons instead of me...I'm not sure why it keeps doing this. Whenever it does, I press the off button and turn it back on and then it stops but it's super annoying.Does this ever happen to any of you? Any idea why this keeps happening and what I can do about it? Thanks!

Android Forums - View Single Post - Support My samsung galaxy S2 batteries suddenly drain within hours!

Sunday 18th of November 2012 / androidforums.com
Hey Guys! Hope you are up for reading my looooooooong post (plus rant)! Need some help with my SGS2. I am facing similar problems as what seems like for millions other! THE ISSUE: My phone keeps crashing randomly after my ICS update, and when it does the battery indicator shows a steep drop in charge. So this happens even when I have 85% battery charge, and on re-boot battery shows 35%... 50% of the battery seems to have pulled off a Houdini's disappearing act in a flash! SOME FACTS: 1. I have a sim-free version of the SGS2 in the UK... and I know this is a T-Mobile thread...but really liked the discussions going on here thats why my post... 2. My phone is NOT rooted (and I do not intend to root it either) 3. I have upgraded to ICS using KIES v2.4, they have rolled out a KIES v2.5 just recently (after my upgrade), according to which I have the latest firmware too... 4. My phone: model number GT-I9100, Android version 4.0.4, Base brand version I9100XXLQ6, Kernel version 3.0.15-I9100XWLPT-CL941023 dpi@DELL169 #3 The Story so far: Post my upgrade to ICS, my battery started drainin

FRUSTRATION! (Phone keeps shutting off?)

Monday 26th of July 2010 / droidforums.net
So, one of the most annoying things ever happens with my brand new incredible. It finds the need to shut off at the most inconvenient times. Today, in the middle of a fairly long text, it stopped responding, then restarted. Earlier today, i pulled it out of my pocket, and tried running the advanced task killer, which didn't FC, but rather my phone restarted. it also doesn't vibrate when i receive texts even though it's set to. I love this phone, but i start to love it less when this BS happens. does anyone have any idea what could be goin down within the internal workings of my wireless handheld device?-Edit-Would rooting the phone make it more stable so it wouldn't do things like this? I am going to root it eventually, I just wanna do complete research before I jump into it. Which is why I fell in love with this site <3-Edit 2-Minutes after saying I'm eventually gonna root my phone, I did. I'll see if that works, but if it might be anything serious (which i really doubt it is) lemme know =D

GPS Bug with factory browser

Monday 25th of January 2010 / droidforums.net
I couldn't figure out why my phone kept eating my battery in a matter of hours. I was about to go exchange it for another when I figured out what was going on. When you open the factory browser with the default Google homepage it fires up your GPS to put your location up. I'm guilty of opening the browser, doing what i need, then telling it to close which it never does. Instead it re-opens the browser and goes back to your home page which for me was the default Google page. I would hit that back soft key quickly hoping to stop it from loading the page and thus, in my mind at least, closing the browser. What happens though is the browser keeps the GPS turned on attempting to find your location. If you re-open the browser it will go ahead and locate you and turn off the GPS but if you hit that back key before it locates you the GPS keeps trying to locate you until you open the browser back up allowing it to finish the task or until it kills the battery, whichever comes first.

Bluethooth / HandsFreeLink

Friday 14th of June 2013 / droidforums.net
I've noticed since I got my GS4 it does not connect with the HandsFreeLink in my Odyssey like my previous Droid. When I try to connect manually the link does not stay on. It keeps going on and off. I can see it on the phone and also the Bluetooth icon on the dash video display. What is going on and why is this happening? Is it a phone issue or the car issue? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

galaxy s4 does not deep sleep, msm_hsic_host

Thursday 20th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, my 1 month old S4 drains battery like crazy when it is idle. If I unplug it at night, after 8-10 hours I lose over 20% of my battery without touching it! I turn everything off throughout the night, so no wifi, no data, no bluetooth, nothing. I posted some screenshots of my battery. For some reason, according to betterbatterystats, I don't have connection 94% of the time, but I was texting throughout the day and I had full bars every time. Even GSAM says I have signal 100% of the time. But when I look at the kernel wakelocks, the msm_hsic_host one keeps my phone up 100% of the time and no deep sleep at all, it stays at 384 mhz. Also, according to Gsam battery monitor in the discharge while on/off, it says my phone lost 44% while the screen is off. Is that a bit excessive? I'm at wit's end with this problem, why isn't my phone going to sleep? Can someone take a look and help me please? thank you for reading this! sorry I'm very new to this forum so I was not sure how to add multiple pictures, so I just uploaded the link to the album. sorry for any inconveniences! imgur: the simple
