Which apps are safe to disable?

Saturday 18th of August 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ok so I'm on a fresh install of ICS on a stock Rezound. I know you can now disable certain apps when selecting "All" in the remove apps section. There's SO much stuff listed in there. Do we need it all? Has anyone made a list of the ones safe to disable?

Apps Safe to Disable and/or Kill on Start-up?

Monday 14th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but is there a list of Note 3 pre-installed apps that are safe to disable and/or kill on start-up? I'm sure there are some things that have to run in order for the device to function properly, but there are probably others (like bloatware) where disabling them won't hurt anything and might even help save RAM or something. If anyone can post or point me to a list of which apps can safely be disabled, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

App Disabling For Maximum Speed & Battery Life

Monday 28th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
My main reason for rooting a non-Nexus phone is to, of course, remove the bloatware. It really does significantly increase the phones speed because many of the bloat apps persist in the phone's active RAM (and cache) until the phone's RAM capacity is fully in use, then Android automatically kills off processes that it deems low in priority to make room for the processes one demands. This is the main reason behind why task killers are Useless. I have much experience changing the suffix of the apks via root explorer to remove bloat, as I have with my OG Droid, Droid X and various other Verizon phones that my friends had. I made an aggressive list in the developer section of the Droid 3 for Corey, (Droid 3: Apps That Are Safe To Remove Once Rooted) which he added to his post. However, Google's App menu does not allow every app to be disabled. Most can. My aggressive DL is as follows... This is tested and proven to work and will not damage or prevent your phone from running correctly. *If you use any of these apps ie: Google Music then obv do not disable. This is just a list of the app

Saferoot on S4 SCH-I435

Saturday 12th of July 2014 / androidforums.com
Hi,I have succesfully Saferooted my S4 Mini running 4.2.2 Jellybean. I was able to remove an OTA update file for KitKat and disable the SDM update service, which was my purpose in applying the safe root. From reading around, I think I understand that due to the Knox security, even flashing a factory ROM will/may set the Knox status to 1. I have two questions about Knox:1. I booted into download mode, and on my phone the screen does not display Knox status as indicated in many posts around the net. KLMS Agent and Knox Store are listed under Applications, But I cannot find the Knox status anywhere. How do I find this?2. I installed Titanium Backup and backed up several stock applications I 'd like to remove. I was about to remove those same apps when I became concerned that doing so may trigger Knox. Can stock apps that are NOT uninstallable on an unrooted phone be removed from a rooted phone without triggering the Knox flag? Thanks for the help!
