Please help... I think my phone is bricked :'(

Monday 03rd of September 2012 / androidforums.com
So last week I was installing beats audio from the play store and when it rebooted it wouldn't go past the boot logo. It's been stuck like this for a week. I can charge the battery, that's fine. I can also get into Android system recovery <3e>, but I don't think I have clockworkmod recovery installed (which is what I was reading about on other forum posts). The only options I have in Adroid system recover <32> are: reboot system nowapply update from sdcardwipe data/factory resetwipe cache partition I've tried all of these in every possible sequence. I've downloaded and attemped to install the ZTE SCORE factory image and install it from the "apply update from sdcard" option by placing it in the sdcard root folder and renaming it "update.zip, but it gives me this error every single time (along with every other image I've tried to load with this method): -- Install /sdcard ...Finding update package...Opening update package...Verifying update package...E:signature verification failedInstallation aborted. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND UPSET WITH THIS PHONE... :'(I've t

What purpose does the /cache partition in Android serve? Are there any cases where clearing the /cache partition could result in lost data?

software updated: now stuck in android system recovery <3e>

Friday 22nd of July 2011 / androidforums.com
Hi all,Just been setting up my new lg optimus 3D (i haven't rooted it or done anything 'dodgy' with it, just installed astro from the market and imported my contacts from an external sd card). When i put my sim in a software update came up in the notification bar, so i updated and once it reset it's gone to the android system recovery <3e> screen, the options are:reboot system nowwipe data/factory resetwipe cache partitionwipe cache partition and package recoverywipe nv dynamic partitionWhen i reboot it just comes back to the same screen, I haven't tried any others as i don't want to factory reset as it's taken me a little while to get this far. any ideas what the best option is? If i don't hear back soon i'll just factory reset it and report back but if you know what even happened that would be great. My network is Orange in the UK,Thanks

I'm stuck at Android System Recovery. Now What

Saturday 19th of November 2011 / droidforums.net
Please Help. I was stuck at the M. I tried to flash CM7 to my phone and now it is stuck. I can get it to the triangle with the ! but then what can I do to fix it? When I use the volume buttons, I get options for Android system recovery, but I don't know which option to select or how to select it. This is a rooted Droid 2 previously running GB. Choices: Reboot System Now, Apply update from sdcard (I did save CM7 nightly update 139 to my sd card), wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. Which and how would I select it? Then what will I need to do? Is there a link to some directions anywhere? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Android System Recovery <3e> restore factory

Sunday 11th of March 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello,I am new to rooting. I rooted my Sprint Epic 4G Touch. Now I have exclamation point on turning on, and the wifi does not work. I want to restore to factory. Even if I knew what I was doing, I can not enter download mode. When I try, I get "Android System Recovery <3e>." The options are:reboot system nowapply update from SD cardwipe data/factory resetwipe cache partition I have tried all 4 options. No good results. I attempted update from SD card, but don't know what a correct update is. The dream would be for me to regain control of this device, be able to root (and unroot for warranty purposes), make the wifi work, get rid of yellow exclamation point, and be able to reprogram annoying headset button defaults in this device. Please help. I have wasted a good bit of a Sunday bricking my phone, and would love to unbrick.Thx

Android Forums - View Single Post - Android 2.3 & 4.0 WiFi Internet HD 1080P HDMI Google TV Box ARM Cortex A9 Firmware

Friday 03rd of August 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi to all,I have DVB-T tuner GoClever Android BOX 500, can I install without any problems the latest (I think) firmware: 20120621_Android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref.zip ?I checked my device with "DeviceChecker.apk" and it showed that I have:MBX DVBT reference board (c03ref)Board: MBXName: c03refDevice: c03refBoard: c03refMy current firmware is 2.3.4.There is no reset button in my box, but I figured out how to boot up "Android system recovery utility" and there are some options like:1. Reboot system now.2. Apply update.3. Wipe data/Factory reset. (So I think there is some recovery partition so I don't need recovery on SD)4. Wipe cache partition.5. Wipe media partition.6. Set efuse item (Don't now for what is it). Thanks in advance for answer.

Android Forums - View Single Post - How to activate dt A2SD on MIUI?

Thursday 08th of November 2012 / androidforums.com
I'm simply not sure if I have successfully activated the dark tremor A2SD feature on my MIUI 2.10.12 Jelly Bean v2.7 ROM (on HTC Desire). If I did, then something ain't working, because every time I d/l something, I run out of internal storage space (got 1.3gb free on the SD card). I tried "a2sd install" in adb shell (aka terminal emulator), I get: "Found block device: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2Removing flag a2sdRemoving flag ad2sdRemoving flag dc2sdSetting flag a2sd/system/bin/a2sd: line 74: /sd-ext/.a2sd: Read only file systemchmod: /system/bin/a2sd: No such file or directory**Would you also like to move DALVIK-CACHE?"**(I checked and a file called "a2sd" does exist in this folder)In Android Terminal Emulator app I tried "a2sd checkext" in order to determine for certain that I have the SD card partitioned (its been a long time since I played with this...), and what size/type of partition it is. Says:"Found block device: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2/sd-ext is mountedForcing check on next boot"But it just reboots the phone?! I have no idea what res

VERIZON Only - Partition Cache Clear Failure

Friday 26th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Hey Guys,Recently I have tried to clear partition cache through the android menu (Volume Up + Home Key + Power Button), but what I found is upon menu boot up the android robot falls and reports "No Command" and flashes "Error". Then when selecting wipe cache partition, the robot falls and reports "Error" then automatically reboots. This has happened on 2 devices (My original device and my replacement device). Verizon replaced the device because that error is abnormal (you don't say), additionally the tech rep said that they never step through the wipe partition cache (actually he admitted he didn't even know what it was), so they would never identify an issue. Anyways, Verizon called Samsung for me then conferences me in; after stating the problem Samsung replies they have not seen this on any of the other carrier devices and they have walked customers of T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint through a wipe partition cache exercise without error. Samsung said I was the first to report this issue. (Interesting I am the first to report this issue but have it on 2

(SOS) LG Optimus Q L55c Boots into CWM-Based Recovery no matter what I do.

Wednesday 16th of October 2013 / android.net
First I'm new to the forums I'm also new to this Optimus Q so far I am enjoying both of them, OK I still can't figure this out, I've tried all kinds of Android forums and this is the first Q model based forum I've come across, the problem is I can't get it to do anything but boot into a CWM-Based Recovery,( I had flashed a rom to it and it was working till a few days later when it died and I turned it back on) if it is mounted as a storage device there are no files on the phone. The following are steps I have taken to attempt to fix it;-First in CWM-Based Recovery I selected the "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", "wipe dalvik cache", "format system".-On my PC I placed the Striped_Q_Modv1.0 in the same directory as C:Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot as instructed-I ran Fastboot(in Administrator) on my PC with my LG Optimus Q plugged in with the proper USB cable and typed the following commands1.adb reboot bootloader* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 **daemon started successfully*2.Then it restarted my
