What's new on the Jellybean update?

Saturday 08th of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello, guys! I'd just like to know what are the other cool new things that can be found in the Jellybean update aside from Project Butter and the clock in the "taskbar" or notification bar? Those two are the only things I know about the Jellybean update. Highly appreciate it!

What does the Gingerbread update mean for the general user

Monday 28th of November 2011 / androidforums.com
So with the upcoming GB update I'm trying to figure out what it means for me. I understand it supposedly will mean a better battery life and better signal. What effect (if any) will the update have on the apps I've installed? Will they have to be re-downloaded? Are there apps that are not compatible with GB?I use launcher pro b.c I didn't like touchwiz, will GB remove the need for launcher pro?Any chance we won't have the stupid Verizon bloatware with the update?I need this update to fix this phone, I was unable to get a signal this past weekend in West Palm Beach. At the airport I had 4G sometimes and other times 1x. Painful.

When we do get the JellyBean update...

Sunday 07th of October 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
I know there is a whole thread already dedicated to the JellyBean update. But my question to you guys is: When we do actually do get the update for JellyBean, what the heck will it do? What will be different on my GS3 and what new things will be incorporated? Thanks!

What does the MS840ZVA update really do/improve?

Saturday 26th of May 2012 / androidforums.com
It's been almost 2 weeks and I can't find a single answer as to what the zva update ACTUALLY does...I've scoured this site and google and most threads went dead a week or more ago with no conclusions....Supposedly helps overheating. Obviously un-roots and re-installs bloatware, but it also has a new basband version(supposedly. I think my zv9 is the same as what was stated...can't find the thread)...so does 4g drop more? Is the the signal improved? Is this update BS?WTF is this update doing???? I know ALOT of people have to want to know...I'm sick of reading inconclusive threads on this and am not willing to guinea pig when there is a heresay of the 4g signal dropping more....

What does the jellybean update offer/fix???

Wednesday 19th of December 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Im wondering what the new update offers and fixes compared to ics. My phone is flashed to ntelos, and granted after the update ill have to reflash, it doesnt cost me anything. My flash went through 100% correct, but still have some issues. Problems im having right now on ics are:- while using data (browser, facebook, basically anything data) my incoming calls dont ring in. - sometimes data is slow as crap. (Great signal where i live, one of the best actually)- no mms. Phone was reflashed on saturday to try t fix this issue to no success. Which is the only thing not working at all. Have tried different apps that the flasher suggest but doesnt work at all. Basically if jb isnt any better then ill let it be for now, otherwise ill get it updated and reflashed over the weekend. Any input Sent from my SCH-R530U using Android Central Forums

ASUS Infinity won't boot after the Jellybean update

Thursday 04th of October 2012 / androidforums.com
I use an ASUS Infinity T700TF. I downloaded the Jellybean update this morning, and it went through the installation process, applying updates and recognizing apps. Then it rebooted as expected, but doesn't get past the ASUS splash screen with circle of dots. It sits there for over an hour. I tried to hard reboot it a few times, and it still doesn't boot up. It gets as far as the circling dots and stays there. When I plug it into my computer with USB, it's not visible to the computer. My system is encrypted, and was working fine before the update. I haven't had any significant system problems before the update. I haven't noticed any encryption related problems (the encrypted login screen is still the same and takes the password, and then continues to try to boot, but doesn't complete the bootup.)What are my options? Is a factory reset needed?

What does the GB update mean for rooted users?

Tuesday 16th of August 2011 / androidforums.com
So now that this GB patch is out, what does it mean for those of us on custom ROMS? Are new versions of the roms going to come out? (in which case would that mean I would need to flash the new version to get the perks?) It seems, to me at least, that Darkslide X fixed most of the bugs from GB, so I'm not really all that concerned with this patch. But if it would even just a little more stability it might be worth it. I just don't want to flash a new version and have to reconfigure my homescreens and what not all over again, if the advantages are not worth it. Sorry if this is a noob question, I'm learning about rooting, a little bit every day
