There is a birthday cake showing when no birthdays are synced!!! WHY!?!?
Tuesday 05th of February 2013
I am becoming increasingly frustrated that my brand new Galaxy S3 is displaying a birthday cake in the top left part of my home screen where I have my weather/time widget. I have made sure that my calender is not syncing any of my contacts birthdays. I opened my calender and there are no birthdays listed in today's date (or any other date for that matter). I have removed my battery, attempting to reset the calender. The birthday cake went away for a few days, but it has now returned. I just need some advice on how to remove this birthday cake from my home screen because it is very annoying to see that every time I look at my phone. Does anyone out there know how to fix this!? THANK YOU
Samsung Weather Widget Not Syncing

Is anyone else experiencing their stock Samsung Weather Widget not syncing? I tried to sync it while connected to wifi as well and it still does not sync. Any advice?
Apps keep reopening after I close them?
Sunday 08th of November 2009
Watching Taskiller, I've seen that programs I close continually reopen. My first thought was 'oh, I have them set to sync, I'll turn that off' so I disabled all syncing items on the phone - went through every menu and every setting and submenu to ensure there wasn't anything calling up a program I didn't need running. That said, many of the programs I randomly see when going into Taskiller are things like Sprint Navigation, Moxier Mail, Messaging, NFL Mobile Live, Sprint TV, the Weather Channel app, and Calendar. If I've turned off syncing, things like Moxier Mail and Calendar shouldn't be opening - and the rest of the items up there DEFINITELY shouldn't be automatically reopening, sucking up my memory and (presumably) my battery. My fiancee and I each got Moments on Tuesday, each love them, but we're each seeing these rogue programs continually restarting and while she's not meticulous and crazy about it, it's driving me nuts.I grabbed Startup Auditor, but aside from that not even working from a warm reboot, it restarted itself repeatedly and that led to a quick uninstallation...not to

Weather App that doesn't auto sync
Wednesday 10th of October 2012
I apologize if this has been addressed, I cannot find it specifically so I am going to ask. I am trying to find a weather app or widget, similar to the Accuweather app that was on my GS2. It did not automatically go get the weather you had to click on the refresh arrows. I liked this very much. I have tried installing the current Accuweather app but it syncs based on the time schedule you tell it with the least frequent being an hour. Since installing this app I have noticed a rather large change in my battery usage. I had not had the "cell standby" issue that others complain about until after installing this app. My phone would last over 24 hours per charge, now running under 18? Just from syncing temp once an hour? I don't think that makes sense. I have uninstalled it, but will have to wait to see what affect that will have. I only occasionally want to know the temperature, I live in the desert and "hot" is sometimes as accurate as I want to get. Finding out it is 118 instead of 115 is NOT really that important. So in recap what I am looking for is a simple wea

Weather not syncing
Wednesday 02nd of November 2011
I have the Sprint Hero. I'm having a problem on the the HTC sense weather window below the time. The weather area keeps going blank everyday. I've gone into settings to check the "update automatically" box, but after go out of the menu and come back in, it unchecks itself again and canot get it to stick. I've got the stock ROM on there and have not made any changes. Any ideas on what might be wrong and how to fix it ?

Galaxy S3 Weather Widget - Page 5

No. Each hotspot is independent of the other. And the biggest beoch is the weather syncing correctly. You can assign a hotspot to your particular weather app, but it will only bring you to that app. For instance, I have eweather for my weather app, but this will not sync to it even if I assign a hotspot to it. It uses 2 predetermined weather spots. I have to check to see which ones they are. Any other hotspot you can configure to specific apps and it will work. I'm sure I made no sense there. Just a theory. When my phone is in a low signal area, it will constantly switch between 3G, 1X, and no data. That is what uses most of the battery, when I have data off but the network on it doesn't constantly switch back and forth and I find my battery life to be hugely improved. I don't sync much, I only sync facebook, twitter, flickr, and peeps once a day, two e-mail accounts once every 2 hours, and weather every 3 hours. I get through a 15 hour day with 50-60% battery life left.Okay, then that makes sense... I always have great signal so that explains it. I can

***FIXED*** HTC Thunderbolt Google NOT Syncing AND Weather Widget WRONG LOCATION PROBLEM
Saturday 02nd of April 2011
This is my first post on this site. I just registered moments ago. I registered because I have been having the same issues with my Thunderbolt that MANY PEOPLE seem to be having, and am very surprised at the lack of knowledge of the VZ tech support people at not being able to troubleshoot these very rampant issues.I am on my 3rd Thunderbolt now, despite the release delay, I think they should of held back a bit longer until some of these common bugs that it seems likely thousands of people are having were fixed. I have have had: * hard to push / countersunk power button* contacts disappearing issues* Google contacts NOT syncing error * weather gadget not showing my actual town Ok, at the very moment, ALL of those issues are NO LONGER an issue -- here's the secrets* power button --- easy-- hardware issue, ( probably bad spring) - return the phone for one that is not counter sunk ... first one I had was countersunk, could barely push it ... second one was up a tad more, one side a bit higher and was no problem to push, third one (this one) button is up as high as the volume button* cont

Galaxy Note 3 - S-view Weather App Info
Wednesday 20th of November 2013
Hi - I have an AT&T Galaxy Note 3. I have Android Weather app installed and also set as home screen widget. I also have The Weather Channel (TWC) app installed. Android Weather app (refreshed) states temp. of 63 degrees. Weather Channel App states 64 degrees. That's OK - but what I can't figure out is why my S-view screen states 65 degrees. Does anybody know where the S-view screen "widget" is getting its data from? Can I change this source so that it matches my preferred weather app - Android Weather - so that the S-view screen widget and home screen widget show the same temperature? I have spent hours trying to research this but to no avail - most of the search results were to do with weather apps not syncing / updating etc. Any help appreciated!
