ZTE Venture available for pre-orders on Virgin Mobile; price, specs and release date announced

Tuesday 13th of March 2012 / android.gs
The Venture, a new low range smartphone, has been officially announced by ZTE and it is available for pre-orders (starting from today) through the Virgin Mobile retail. The same carrier also mentioned other important aspects, such as the Venture release date, price and specs list, all being detailed and explained during the following lines. This is the second low-cost device, after the ZTE Fury on Sprint, released in a short period by the Chinese manufacturer through the US market, though nowadays, the customers are willing to spend more and more money in order to buy a high end handset. Anyway, this new Android powered smartphone should be just perfect for the entry level users. As you can see in the image from above, the ZTE Venture is looking quite impressive, the phone dimensions being 4.7” x 2.3” x 0.49” and weighting only 4.30 oz; a really “smooth” device, with a nice and useful QWERTY keyboard. So if you like to impress your friends with the looks and if you like spending time on Facebook, Tweeter, or just typing messages, the Venture should be what you need. Regarding

CWM Recovery 6.0.1.2 For Virgin Mobile Venture

Sunday 16th of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
First, the files you will need : Clockwork Mod version 6+: Flash Image: Now,you will need to be familiar with ADB in order to perform the flashing of the recovery. There is a possible method to use an app to do it. But its untested and I wont post it until I know others have tried it and it works. No need to create bricks of peoples phones. Now that you have the files download above, start ADB in a command prompt and run the following code. Be sure the two files above are in same directory as your adb executable so they will operate correctly when you run the adb commands. here is the commands to push the flash_image and cwm recovery : Code: adb push flash_image /data/local/tmp/flash_imageadb push CWM-Recovery.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.imgadb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/flash_imageadb shellsu/data/local/tmp/flash_image recovery /data/local/tmp/recovery.img you should now have custom recovery. from a powered off state here is the button combination to bring up your new custom recovery: - hold Home button, press power button, keep holding Home button until recovery menu sh

Root success on PCD/Alcatel/Virgin Mobile Venture (aka JukeB)

Monday 10th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
Spent some time with giantpune fixing poot and testing on my Venture. Success!See his post regarding the Optimus Elite:Optimus Elite root with an apkDon't forget to click "Thanks" on his post!Just above the attached files, there is a Sendspace link. That's got the version that will run on the Venture. Or, use this QR code:Once you have the .apk, install it. An easy way is to copy it to the SD card and use a file manager (I like AndroZip because it's small). The QR code probably skips straight to installing it for you, I didn't get to test it.Then find Poot in your apps and run it. It will require you to install Ministro II. Once that's done, it will download additional libraries. Now you're ready to go. Run Poot, tap the button to Poot your phone, install SuperUser, install RootCheck. Then enjoy...install BusyBox, use a file manager to delete/rename that godawful Virgin Mobile boot sound in /system/media/bootsound.wav, whatever you want, you are root. You can delete Ministro and Poot once it's done.AWW YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Virgin Mobile Venture development

Thursday 25th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Alrighty folks... To everyone who has followed my development on the Venture, thank you so very much for all of your support, but i feel that it is time for me to move on from the Venture for the time being. I still will be keeping a close eye on this forum, and will still be providing support for all of my projects. I am always here to help with any questions, so feel free to PM me. I still kept my Ventures to able to provide better support to u guys, and for future development. I feel like i have come to a learning standstill with the Venture. I have moved on to an LG Optimus Elite, which has a lot more going on with it development-wise. My plans are to dive further into development with the Elite, and hopefully come back to at least get u guys a working port of CM7. Anyway, thanks again, all! Feel free to contact me for any reason!-Dracable
