Samsung Galaxy S3 need help w/ APN settings for switching to Straight Talk

Monday 11th of February 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a G S III that was originally w/ t-mobile but the customer service help said I need to use the settings if it had been with AT&T???? That doesn't make sense to of the APN settings they gave me have worked. My husband has a GS II and in places where he has full coverage I have none w/ my GS III. Also my internet is extremely SLOW and I can not send or recieve pictures either. Can someone PLEASE give me the correct APN settings and any tips to speed up my internet ? THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

Samsung Galaxy Precedent Headed for Straight Talk Wireless

Monday 22nd of August 2011 / androidheadlines.com
A new prepaid Android is headed our way, this time courtesy of Walmart’s Straight Talk. The Samsung Galaxy Precedent is priced at an uber-affordable 0 without any sort of contractual obligations attached. For per month, Straight Talk provides a plan with unlimited text, voice, and web access. Galaxy Precedent probably isn’t the most aptly named device, as it isn’t exactly seeting any sort of precedent for prepaid handsets with its 800MHz CPU, 3.2-inch touchscreen, and Android 2.2 build. What you are looking at is basically a re-labeled Samsung Prevail (available through Boost Mobile). But with service tied into AT&T’s 3G network, the combinati…Continue Reading HereSamsung Galaxy Precedent Headed for Straight Talk WirelessKevin Krause – phandroid.com

Throttled for life on straight talk

Monday 03rd of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
On the first month of my ST Sim, AT&T, I was throttled...no surprise, I used over 150 mb in a day. Didn't come anywhere close to 2gb "limit" for the month though. Now after many phone calls they told me I was throttled for life with their company!!!! Has anyone else had this experience? Or does anyone know what I could do?? This just seems ludicrous.... Continued AT&T Update request on a Straight Talk Galaxy S3 gsm and how to proceed..

Saturday 03rd of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello All,I'm new to this site and was hoping to get some basic advice from some experienced galaxy S3 users. I'm using an AT&T branded Galaxy S3 GSM on straight talk. The device appears to be operating reasonable well, but my issue is: I'm getting a daily screen from AT&T prompting for me to update.Something like "an update from at&t is available" and it prompts for me to select "continue". It's my understanding at&t is wanting to get away from letting outside companies use there towers and not sure if accepting this update may cause issues... 1.So should I "Not Accept" this update"? 2.If "No" it only offers "continue"as a choice so how do I eliminate this daily intrusion? Thank you in advance mike

Help finding model number of phone for BYOP with straight talk?

Saturday 10th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I'm trying to do the "bring your own phone" thing with straight talk, since I'm paying a ridiculous amount of money, and it asks for my phone's model, which I looked up how to do and found it, but mine isn't among the list given. I have a Galaxy S3, so I would figure that it should be one there, so I also have to ask myself if I really found my model number or not. I have a Sprint phone, so if anybody knows the model number I have to put, that would be a really big help

I Need APN for skyrocket with Straight talk Tmobile sim.

Thursday 05th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have an Unlocked Galaxy SII skyrocket and I cant get the right APN for the straight talk T-mobile sim to allow picture sms.I tried Straight talks apn settings and they don't work, I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with straight talk CS and I don't think they have a clue about there service, so no luck there. Now I'm just real frustrated.I can SMS regular text, I can connect to the internet but,Just can't send any pictures. I was using the Net 10 tmobile sim with the APN for that on this phone but REALLY dont like net 10 at all.Any one have any clues? or better yet the right APN to use with the T-Mobile straight talk sim on the Galaxy Skyrocket ?

Need your opinions for straight talk.

Saturday 12th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Since I don't make enough money to pay for verizon or at&t monthly contracts... I went with straight talk. I saved money for a long time to get the SG2. I can't update the phone because straight talk wont let it happen. So my question is.. do you think I should return the phone and get my 350 bucks back and buy a verizon or at&t phone outright and use it on straight talk service with "bring your own phone" so it can be updated or just hang on to this one and pray they dish out the update after enough people demand it? Or is the update not worth it? The way I see it with how the economy is, straight talk is going to take over the game because the big guys are just to expensive and people are switching over at an amazing rate. Its the same towers just less amazing phones. Please give your opinions I have about a week left before I decide to return the phone within the 30 refund period.
