Saturday 08th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
i had made up my mind to buy the Samsung lightray but after seeing reviews saying it was laggy and overpriced i dont think i want to buy it. but now i don't know what phone to get. so i was thinking of getting a LG Motion but i cant get over the fact that the screen is to small (i will be watching movies and playing games). i have heard that the galaxy s3 will be goming out for metro in fall but thats a 3 month span and i dont thing i could wait 3 months. sooo any one know if they are going to lower the price and fix the laggines of the light ray or come out with a phone that has a good proccesor and a big screen and does any one know when the galaxy s3 will be out for metro.PS. i dont want an LG esteem

T-Mobile may update offer for Metro PCS - Android Authority

Wednesday 10th of April 2013 / androidauthority.com
Last week, we reported on T-Mobile’s bid for Metro PCS meeting opposition from shareholders. Essentially, Metro PCS shareholders weren’t fond of the deal, as they felt it didn’t represent their best interest. Well, it didn’t represent their best financial interest, at least. That groundswell of opposition either had more traction than we knew, or T-Mobile is just not in the mood to play around. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that T-Mobile intends to sweeten their offer to buyout Metro PCS. This sweetened deal will likely reduce that $15 billion loan debt the newly formed company would almost immediately assume. There are no details on just what the terms of a new offer might be, as T-Mobile is unwilling to discuss the matter. It could be a number of things, though. Perhaps the “reverse merger” we told you about previously will be re-structured, though that’s doubtful. In a situation like this, a reverse merger makes the most sense long-term.Our money is on… money. The current offer made by T-Mobile values Metro PCS shares at about $7-8/share,

sim unlocking - How to unlock a Motorola Photon 4G for other carriers?

Friday 11th of November 2011 / android.stackexchange.com
I won a Motorola Photon 4G. They are tied to Sprint, which is CDMA, but it is a world phone, which means it supports GSM and uses a SIM card. I was reading that there may be an unlock code to allow it to work with other carriers. How can I unlock my Motorola Photon 4G for other carriers, specifically AT&T?

NFC for Metro PCS version of the S3?

Tuesday 17th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello, first post here on the Android side. :-) I was asked by my friend to help her decide on a new smartphone. I know this is the T-Mobile forum, but there isn't a Metro PCS forum, and T-Mobile owns them now, so hopefully someone here would have an answer for this. I helped her buy a used in "like new" condition S3 with the Metro PCS branding. I wanted to see how well it would pair with my BlackBerry Music Gateway in my car using the NFC, and to my surprise, her S3 doesn't have an NFC antenna under the batter cover... Apparently Metro PCS sells them with generic plastic back covers without the NFC antenna. My question is, would she get NFC if she buys a S3 back cover with the antenna? Or did Metro lock it out of the software as well? Also, I heard that Androids have something with a unique code for the batteries, so that might be something else that could interfere with her getting NFC?? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks. :-)
