apps restarting themselves after force stop.

Friday 10th of June 2011 / androidforums.com
why is it that some apps restart themselves without me starting them after i have forcestopped them? things like gmail, maps, gallery... all tend to restart themselves even when i have backround data turned off.. WHY? HOW DO YOU STOP IT?!furthermore you know what i hate.. theres no end on things. in order to make an app quit you have to force stop it. thats lame.otherwise i am loving the crap out of my optimus V a week after getting it.

tasker - Root Terminal command to kill or stop a service?

Monday 08th of October 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
The latest LiveView Application for my device keeps appearing on the status bar even if the LiveView device isn't connected. Since I can't find any means to disable this behavior, I want to create a fix for myself via Tasker. I made it so that the LiveView process is killed when the device disconnects. However, although this successfully kills the app, after a few seconds or minutes, it starts up again and sits on the notification bar like before. I suppose this is a countermeasure against Task Killers of sort. This is the next approach I'm taking, using a terminal command to kill or stop a service fully. I'm going to run this command in Tasker in replacement of the process kill method.Another thing I found to work is to go to Settings > Apps > LiveView > Force Close. So if Force Close is do-able via terminal, that would be nice too. This is all on a rooted ST17i, running MiniCMSandwich Lite ROM (ICS).

Is there an app (or any method) to force a specific framerate for recorded videos?

Saturday 10th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
I've recently decided to record videos throughout my day and join them together to upload as a single video as that day's video log. However, I couldn't find a single video-joining program that would work properly. As it turns out, it wasn't their problem. I discovered that every video I record with my RAZR ends up with a different video framerate. I first tried my preferred app, lg camera. It has options for setting framerate, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I then tried uCam and the stock camcorder. All videos have different framerates regardless of settings. Is there any way to force recorded videos to have a set framerate? I don't even need it to be really high. I figure standard (29.97 I believe, or we can just say 30) would be acceptable.I realize that I can re-encode the videos to all have matching framerates and THEN join them together, and if I absolutely have to, then so be it, but it's an extra step I would prefer to avoid... and honestly, I think my request is reasonable.Any ideas?

Force Stop Messaging

Saturday 14th of November 2009 / droidforums.net
I have had my Droid for about 4 days now and for about the last day it seems like whenever I am texting more than one person at a time, every 10-15 texts or so my droid decides to freeze up for about 30 seconds then asks to Force Stop or Wait. Picking either works and the phone is back to normal. Anyone have anything else like this or any idea how to fix it?
