Help - EPad 10" Android 2.1 - pattern lock stuck at login

Wednesday 27th of April 2011 / talkandroid.com
I need help with my epad 10". I think it's by MID and I got it a few weeks ago. It's running 2.1 and it did not have the OEM option to put in a signon password or patternWhat happened is I was able to download from the android market through the epad itself a widget that enabled the draw pattern to unlock. Well upon rebooting the tablet, I can get to the first screen, which by OEM settings is the "slide to unlock", what should come next is then the "draw pattern" screen should appear, but it doesn't. So I can't get past the slide to unlock screen, as it button slides and the screen hangs. I can't figure out how to do a factory reset/wipe. I can reset the epad by the pinhole on the side, but it just reboots again to the same stuck point.

Disable Lock Screen when at home?

Sunday 17th of February 2013 / androidforums.com
OKay, after searching for more than an hour, I frustratingly came here to ask this. I would like Tasker to disable my pattern lock when I'm at home i.e when connected to my home Wi-Fi .This is what I tried:Context: State --> WiFi connected --> Chose my home oneTask: Display --> Keyguard --> OffIt worked for few minutes, I tried it few times and worked. Then it stopped so i searched and people and Wikidot something had an article on it.So I used Secure SettingsContext: State --> WiFi connected --> Chose my home oneTask: Plugin --> SS --> Keyguard OffAgain it worked for few minutes, I tried it a few times and worked then it stopped working.I also tried WiFi Near but that doesn't work eitherSo please help?

[Tasker] setting up a 'Wifi At Home' profile

Wednesday 11th of January 2012 / androidforums.com
I just installed Tasker, and am trying to set up my first profile - turning Wifi on when I get home / turning it off when I leave the house.I have read "Location Without Tears", and am following the instructions at Turn On WiFi at Home - Tasker Wiki to set up this profile. The problem is, I can't get the first context to work, specifically the "Get Fix". Before launching Tasker I turn on my GPS. Then, in the Location context, when I click the blue-circlish icon in the bottom-right corner, which I can only presume means "Get Fix" as the instructions do not specify, the following error appears: Error: no location providers enabled and available. I have 'Net' ticked on, GPS ticked off, and the radius set to 500m.Also, a related question - how do I specify an exit condition for a profile in Tasker?

So I have Tasker and Secure Settings. I'm trying to disable my pattern lockscreen while I'm on my home wifi. I have it set up so if I'm on my home wifi, secure settings disables Keyguard. This is not working at all. Anyone know how to do this?

Disable Pattern Lock with Home Wifi need root?

Sunday 09th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi All, I'm loving my Nexus 5, my first Android phone. I use Pattern Lock. I want to disable Pattern Lock when I'm at my home wifi. I did some research and it looks like apps can only turn off Pattern Lock when the phone is rooted. Is this true? I don't want to root my phone and I'd rather not have to enter Pattern Lock a hundred times a day. Any options? Thanks! Advait

Rooted VZW S5, now trying to disable Pattern Lock

Tuesday 24th of June 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Pretty much what the title says, I am trying to get my phone to not require the Pattern Lock procedure using Tasker and Secure Settings. Nothing I do within Secure settings is having the desired effect on this procedure. Has anyone actually been successful in accomplishing this? Regards,BillyT

stable way to disable screen lock at home?

Tuesday 24th of June 2014 / androidforums.com
Hi all,I'm newbie for this. Following tutorial, I've tried two ways to disable screenlock at home:1, enable screenlock(which is PIN) when NOT near cell towers.... This method is very unstable, often fails, so I didn't give it much tests.2, disable screenlock(which is SLIDER) while home wifi connected...... This method is a little better with stability, but still not good enough. I give it more tests, I find that I have to disable the tasker app then enable it, when it fails to disable screenlock.I'm talking about stability here ---- sometimes works but often I see slider. When it fails, I noticed that home wifi is connected(I always set my phone to be "wifi always on when screen locked") and tasker app is "active".System is android 4.0.4, rooted.Any stabler way?
