Epic shuts off by itself, then won't turn on without Battery pull?

Tuesday 19th of October 2010 / forums.androidcentral.com
I bought my wife an Epic 4G on October 1. Everything seemed fine with it, except battery life has been real terrible, she lite to moderate use. But I told her for a smart phone, and that type of use(checking Facebook and email all day on and off) that 8 to 10 hours of use is a little on the low side, but still somewhat normal. But now a new problem has happened. This morning her phone shut off all by itself. I know it was on, because I turned it on for her to check and see if she had any updates to her programs. My wife doesn't like to go on the market to check these things. There were two updates, K-9 email and Battery Indicator Pro, so I updated both of the programs. The phone was working fine after the updates. She left to go to work, and went to make a call, and it wasn't working. She hit the power button on the phone and nothing. She came back running into the house to tell me their is a problem with the phone. I tried it myself, and sure enough, it wouldn't turn on. I took off the back and pulled the battery. Put it back in and the phone turned on with no problem. Now what do I

Maxx Shuts Off by itself - False Low Battery?

Tuesday 06th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
I love my Maxx so far for the most part, but there have been a few issues. Most of them are minor and can be fixed by rebooting. One that I can't figure out is this. Three times now my phone has shut completely off by itself. I would pull it out of my pocket or off the desk and the screen is black just as it would be in sleep mode. I push the power button to wake the phone up and nothing happens. So I push multiple times and nothing happens. Then I hold the power button in to restart the phone and nothing. It won't turn on or wake up. Thinking that maybe the battery was completely dead I put it on a charger. I know each time this happened I had 80% battery left or more but charged it anyway. But putting it on the charger made the phone restart. That is the only thing that would do it. The last time it happened I happened to notice that right before the restart the battery icon (with the lightning bolt) showed up on screen for about one second then went away. The battery icon was empty except for barely a little red at the bottom meaning normally a low or dead battery. I know each tim

Shuts off by itself, battery life

Thursday 13th of January 2011 / androidforums.com
My p500 shuts off by itself, and I'd like to know why, and what to do to fix it. It usually shuts off sometime between 2 and 3 pm. Bluetooth, wifi and gps are turned off most times, but it doesn't really matter if they are turned on or not, it'll still power off. I couldn't find any place in the settings to access a timed power off. Also, the battery has maybe a 24 hour life. I have to charge it every night. Any ideas?

Phone shuts off by itself

Tuesday 06th of December 2011 / androidforums.com
Hey guys, about once every other day, I mysteriously find my phone has shut itself off or is rebooting. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the power options which can be accessed by holding down the power button. You can still access it even when the phone is locked, and it is the equivalent of a "pants call". Very annoying.I found this one thread about how to disable the power options, but my phone has completely different files in that folder, plus I'm not able to save edits on the one file which seems to be relevant - qwerty.klDisable "Power Options" while locked

My thunderbolt just shuts off by itself.

Sunday 03rd of July 2011 / droidforums.net
My thunderbolt just shuts off by itself. Just when I've got everything working as i would like it to a new problem... My tbolt shuts off without warning. I've had a couple of random reboots but i can live with those. I cant live with thinking my phone is on when it isnt missing important calls. It has nothing to do with charge level or any other conditions i can think of. Pbone is asleep in my case and i check it and it is just off. Is this likely a problem with the phone or due to some combo of apps? Does it happen to others? I am not rooted.

tablet won't boot, shuts off by itself

Wednesday 05th of February 2014 / androidforums.com
Hi all, Dave here. I am trying to diagnose a friends tablet. I don't know whom manufactures it, it has no visible markings, just 2.0 megapixel. it is an android operating system. tablet tries to boot, then just shuts off. when I was in it, it was slow and locked up often. When I got it, the screen would flash the android splash screen. it would do this for hours on charge. it took 2 days to get to 80% charge. held power and vol up, or down, don't know which actually worked. next screen was just the word android, then it shuts off. hold power button for 5 or more seconds, same routine. I repair pc's in my spare time, and this lovely piece of work is pretty alien to me. I think the operating system was 4.1.1.1 or something along those lines.Glad I don`t own one.
