Droid Charge Battery Life

Sunday 05th of February 2012 / androidforums.com
I have tried several things to improve the battery life of my droid Charge including: manually killing running applications, have wifi turn off automatically after no activity in a short time, loading an application to manage the power better. As time goes on, I have found the battery life to be pathetic. One of the reasons I bought the Droid Charge was that it supposedly had more run time life than others. I have found the idle time power usage to be pathetic. I do have a backup battery, but I am beginning to wonder if you need 2 phones if you have a smart phone. One which has a battery life to perform as a phone, and the other a smart phone with its capabilities but an unacceptable battery life. Charged the phone yesterday and after the charge I only accessed it briefly last night to clear some mail, and then this morning after being idle over night with only 13hours it only had 23% charge from 5 minute use the night before. Am I missing something or is this supposed to be acceptable. If it is, Samsung should include a secondary cheap phone with its smart phone so you can still use

Something with data service affecting my battery life lately?

Sunday 01st of May 2011 / androidforums.com
I've been running the seidio 3500 battery in my evo for several months, and had been consistsntly getting around 3 1/2 to 4 days of life. The last couple weeks though I'm down to just 2 or so days. I started to zero in on the most recent launcher pro update as the prime suspect, but now im not so sure. After tracking my device usage in system panel for about a day, I'm noticing that the quicker battery drain only seems to be happening when I'm off my home Wi-Fi. Is it possible that something's going on with my data service recently that's killing my battery more quickly? Anyone ever notice this? How might I go about troubleshooting??

Poll: Advanced Task Killer, Does It Save Battery, Yes or No?

Saturday 04th of September 2010 / androidforums.com
Okay, so I officially want to know from real life experience, have any of you noticed an improvement in battery life by utilizing the program Advanced Task Killer (ATK). Yes or No. I've heard arguments for and against using ATK which people have claimed could save battery life by killing off background aps and processes that hinder battery life by using the CPU in the background. Some people say it works, others say "dude you are an idiot, you must not know anything about Android or linux, Aps don't run in the background with Android, its the beauty of Android" or something to that effect. Maybe I'm an Idiot, but here is my experience. I have used my phone for periods of time, with and without ATK. I can deffinately say from my own real life experience, that running ATK improves my battery life. Maybe its a mental placebo effect I dont know. For those who say it doesn't work, I just have one common sense question, so here it goes. If Android is so smart, and it doesn't run background aps on it's own, which would use up energy, then why the heck does AmazonMP3 load up by it

Something is KILLING my battery life!!

Sunday 09th of January 2011 / droidforums.net
I have installed juice defender and it says I'm saving 1.5 etc as far as I can understand it. I just know that since I have installed JD I will loose alot of battery. For example I lost 10% in the first Jr with the Droid just sitting. And down to 50% in three hours. I am about to uninstall JD and see what is going on. Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App

Serious Battery Drain...HELP!

Monday 05th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
I just picked up and activated my Nexus on Saturday and got all my apps on it and set everything up. But my problem is last night I went to bed, my phone was at least at 75%, I woke up and it was completely dead. So I threw it on the charger before I left for work, got to work, and the phone has been on the charger all morning and the battery level is dropping. I was at 51%, and then after like 20 minutes I was at 48%, now it's been on the charger for about 30-45 minutes and it's only at 55%. Something is killing my battery and I don't know what. I checked Battery under Settings and nothing absurd is using up all the power, I set my apps to not sync constantly. I have the power control widget and the only thing enabled atm is data sync and the display is on the lowest setting. What the heck is going on with my battery life??I do not get 4G in my apartment, I found an article on how to shut it off in Settings because it supposedly is a huge battery waster. I might just cancel 4G all together, I don't get it at work, I don't get it in my apartment, the only time would be if I was out o

Interesting: after 4.2.2 update, Galaxy S3's battery life improves

Saturday 22nd of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi guys, something interesting has happened that's worth sharing, I'm interested in your opinions.A couple of days ago, I decided to check out the leaked S3 and Note 2 firmware update. By now, Samsung has started to roll it out officially, but what I have is the leaked beta version. Before the upgrade, I had been experiencing heating, battery life and responsiveness issues even though I've only had it for a few weeks. Nothing severe, but it was frustrating enough. Unfortunately I can't exactly quantify how bad the battery life was. All I know is that no matter how I used my phone (gaming, light use, heavy use) it could never manage to last for a workday. It lasted for like half a workday or even less. I even bought a power bank to feed my power-hungry device throughout the day. The other important thing is that whatever I did, according to the battery stats, my phone was almost always awake. Even when using Deep Sleep Pro, which should put devices in sleep mode and switch off Wi-Fi and 3g/LTE when the screen is off. I tried other optimizing and battery saving apps and killing, uninsta

Messed up battery

Thursday 27th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So a few days ago, my battery was fine. Wouldn't really drain at all when not in use. For the past 2 days it has been acting up, though. In about 2 hours, it went from fully charged to 49% battery life while just sitting on my desk, idle. Then I went to do some stuff to save the battery such as killing apps, removing live wallpaper (been using it 2 years, didn't have problems with it draining life), etc. Just some simple stuff. In the 5 minutes that I did this on my phone, the battery went from 49% to 41% which has me worried now. I removed the battery just to see if the interior of the phone was damaged or something, but saw that it looked just as it has for the past 2 years since I got it. I put the battery back in after taking it out at 41%. It tells me my battery life is at 6% now just after taking it out for 1 minute from 41%...do I need a new battery? Something is clearly wrong with my phone. The battery won't last long if it is like this. What should I do?
