Sunday 15th of January 2012 / droidforums.net
Talking about the 3G symbol and the four signal strength bars on the status bar at top. Why are they sometimes white and sometimes blue. What is the deference between 4 blue bars and four white bars?Thanks!Davidwww.davidberchtold.com

notification bar - Why are my network icons blue?

Tuesday 10th of April 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
Possible Duplicate: What does it mean when the connectivity icons in the status bar go white/gray? I've got a Motorola Electrify on Android 2.3. Sometimes my network icons (3G and the cellular network bars) are grey, and sometimes they're blue. They seem to be blue when I have a good connection and/or when my connection will work. What exactly do the colors mean? I've noticed when I have a grey 3G icon, my wireless tether doesn't work at all and I often can't get web pages to load right, regardless of signal strength.

signal indicator color meaning

Wednesday 10th of August 2011 / droidforums.net
Hi all,I have an X and I've had some connectivity issues with data downloads while on wifi with very weak or non-existant cell coverage. sometime downloads will stop or pause for a long time. during those times if i go to the browser and try to load a page it comes up as unreachable. I turn the wifi off and then on and the browser starts to work again and the downloads either pick back up or freeze (depending on what app is doing the downloading) and need to be restarted.I've noticed that sometimes the wifi and cell strength indicators are white and sometime they're blue. I'm trying to see if there is a pattern to the drops based on the white or blue indicators.Does anyone know what the different colors indicate? Thanks, -mcornell23

Signal bars Blue or White - what does it mean?

Saturday 23rd of July 2011 / androidforums.com
Since I installed GB on my Droid-X I notice that my phone strength bars, 3G symbol and Wireless strength symbol are either white or blue.Does anyone know what these specifically indicate? It SEEMS the white / blue for wireless might be indicating there is a successful secure connection (Blue), vs. just a linkage (white). Not clear what the phone strength and 3G are telling me.I know that some folks have tied the white phone strength to the mysterious GB phone call connects and immediately drops issue.Just curious if someone out there knows.

Sprint's 1900MHz Network Vision Is Nice, But The 800MHz Rollout Will Drop Your Jaw

Sunday 13th of January 2013 / androidpolice.com
As I wrote back in October, Sprint currently has major network issues, but the company has been planning to address the woes with the Network Vision rollout in 2012 and 2013.Network Vision is a project to improve existing cell towers and roll out LTE across the U.S., and it's already underway in the existing CDMA 1900MHz range. 1900MHz is nice, but just wait till you see what the 2nd stage of NV (Network Vision) has in store when it starts rolling out in the 800MHz range in place of the current iDEN network. These Sprint webinar slides surfaced last month, but only now made it to our inbox and prompted me to order a support brace for my jaw. You are going to want to sit down for this one, especially if you're an existing Sprint customer. Now remember, these are just slides of projections, but it's what Sprint thinks will happen, using Atlanta as the sample market. Here is what Network Vision to the 1900MHz towers is projected to do to signal strength: => Signal strength (green - great, yellow - good, red - mediocre, blue - bad, white - coverage gaps)As you can see, NV should bring

3G icon and signal strengh meter blue and white??

Wednesday 14th of September 2011 / droidforums.net
I have noticed on the bionic the 3g icon and signal meter changes color from blue to white. At first i thought it was a quick indicatior of signal strength but that does not seem to be the case. Anyone know what it changes color?? Also, i no longer see the 1x indicator. Is this gone now? I could not connect to the market and noticed i had a signal but the 3g icon was gone but no 1x icon was listed.

my experiance with root vs. stock

Thursday 20th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
just wanted to share my experience as i had it rooted for a day and just this morning reverted back to stock...the email display (color) was different when i was rooted, background was dark grey and lettering was light, with the ics blue trim/accent, i guess youd call it? compared to the bland white/black stock.seemed as being rooted, i couldn't utilize google wallet?! note at the top said that my device wasnt supported due to "modification" and actually wouldnt let me buy a pack of smokes at the 7-11! now that im back to stock, tis working again....signal and messaging, now, idk why it would even mess with it as i didnt flash a rom or do any self de-odexing, but, my signal dropped to less then half the strength when rooted and kept getting network error codes when trying to text, also seemed to "prepairing network" every 10 min.when rooted, the feel of the ui in general seemed to get glitchy and lag a few times while stock i have never had that problem.i rooted so i could utilize tethering and themeing a couple of my stock apps, and maybe system install a few fon

Loss of 4G after recharging from battery drain

Thursday 25th of July 2013 / droidforums.net
For the first time my phone went down to 5% charge with a linking red notification light. I recharged overnight but since then get no 4G notification and signal strength bars always remain white and never blue. I cannot connect to the web for anything unless it's through Wi-Fi. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
