Likes and Dislikes Sero 7 Pro

Saturday 29th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Just curious about everyone's general thoughts on this tablet. I have been an android phone user for about 4 years but this is my first android tablet. Overall I feel its a good buy and a solid tablet. My Likes-Best bang for buck tegra3 tablet, plays games well-Full features like bluetooth, gps, nfc, micro sd, hdmi all work-great screen quality and good speakers-battery life 8-10 hours with normal mixed use, and 6-8 hours with gaming and video-Most apps and games work no problemMy Dislikes-Brand new device should be on 4.2.2-Camera could be better-Sometimes it runs warm at top third of tablet rear-hangs a bit when downloading or installing an app-fingerprint magnet-rear panel feels good but not solid on rear. -apps to sd should be a standard feature with only 8gb internal storageSo I rooted, got a microsd card + i-blason hard case and this fixed several of my dislikes. Need camera suggestions and other good tablet app suggestions. Hopefully we hear about the 4.2 2 update soon.

Bluetooth issue with Hisense Sero 7 Pro

Tuesday 16th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I am using a Motorola S305 bluetooth headset with my Hisense Sero 7 pro. When listening to music it cuts in and out all the time. It doesn't stop after a few times. It just keeps cutting out. I did some of my own testing and noticed that it only cuts in and out when the screen goes to sleep. I thought it could be the live wallpaper I had so I turned it off and the issue has not gone away. Anyone else having these issues or know what the issue could be? Upon searching the internet I found that a lot of people where having this issue with JB 4.2.1 on thier tablet/phone. Once they upgraded to JB 4.2.2 the problem went away. The problem also went away when they downgraded to JB 4.1.2. This is gonna suck if Hisense doesn't bother with releasing the update for their tablets.

Hisense Sero 7 Pro gets maintenance update

Thursday 25th of July 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Software update P756.6.02.11.00 is 52.2 MB in size, contains under-the-hood changesThe HisenseSero 7 Pro is receiving an over-the-air update, with a widespread rollout in full effect. The Android version stays the same in what appears to be a small maintenance update, 52.2 MB in size. While there doesn't appear to be an official change log just yet,Google Currents was added to the stock apps, and some more advanced users are reporting changes to a few drivers and the kernel. It's good to see Hisense's support behind this tablet, as the company is relatively new to the Android market in the United States. Good, frequent updates are sure to build the product brand and keep customers coming back for more.In case you missed it, be sure to check out the Sero 7 Pro full review. A screen shot of the "About tablet" screen can be found after the break. Thanks, George, for the tip!

Android 4.3 Will Be Coming to the Sero 7 Pro This Fall

Thursday 01st of August 2013 / androidspin.com
A rant that I have seen myself going on lately is that lack of compliance with GPL (This all has a point to it, I promise). This was most apparent when I purchased the Sero 7 Pro. Like many before it, the kernel source for the device was essentially nonexistent. I emailed them and posted under one of their Facebook posts with no response. Finally, I got response from them on Facebook via private message. It read as follows:Prompt, cordial and understandable. While I’m not quite comfortable with the word “possibility” in there, the second half keeps hope alive. So, we may be seeing some source code soon, keep your eyes peeled and buy a Sero 7 Pro if you haven’t already. Now to the reason for this post. Simply to take a leap of faith, I inquired about Android 4.3 for the S7P, and this is what they stated:There you have it everyone, your Sero 7 Pro will in fact see an Android 4.3 update this fall. Now I understand that Android 5.0 is set for it’s release around the same time, but let’s be real here, how many Non-Nexus devices will see it before Q2 of

Hisense Sero 7 Pro Update Kills Skype

Monday 05th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
After installing the Sero 7 Pro update Skype no longer works on my tablet. I uninstalled and reinstalled the previous version of Skype (3.1.0.6458) since Skype also recently updated to version 3.2.0.6673. Neither version of Skype will now run. The program bombs out on startup. Doesn't seem to be able to get past the login. Anyone else having this problem? Hisense doesn't even have the Sero 7 listed on their support page :>(

Hisense Sero 7 Pro gets another maintenance update

Tuesday 24th of September 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Both the small maintenance update and larger cumulative update are rolling out OTAFor a company that is largely untested when it comes to providing updates to Android devices, Hisenseseems to be looking after its Sero 7 Pro pretty well. Another update, albeit an extremely small one, should be rolling out to nearly all users by now. For those that missed past updates, a cumulative update of 330.6 MB will be available for you to download. For those already on Build number P756.6.02.11.00, the update comes in at a scant 1.7 MB. The latest Build number is now P756.6.02.11.00, with no other obvious software differences in sight. This update does not change the Android version number, which is still the same one that the Sero 7 Pro had out of the box — Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. With Android 4.4 just around the corner, one has to wonder what Hisense's plans are for the future of this tablet's software. Thanks, Joshua!

HiSense Sero 7 Pro - How can I make the tablet MAC address "fixed", not variable?

Wednesday 26th of March 2014 / androidtablets.net
Since the last android update, if I shut off the wi-fi scanner and turn it back on, the last six characters of the tablet MAC address reset to a new address. To maintain my home security, I have to edit my router for permitted devices. This is getting to be a pain. Anybody know a fix for this, short of sending the tablet back to HiSense?
