Anyone lose their SD card after 4.1.2 update?

Tuesday 26th of March 2013 / androidforums.com
I updated my RAZR MAXX HD three days ago to 4.1.2 via OTA and everything seemed to work well, no problems with the SD card. Listened to music (on the SD card) and even did some file transfers last night from Internal storage to the SD card with no issues. This morning all of the sudden I get an error message saying "SD card unexpectedly stopped working. Unmount before" something. The card appears to be fried. Bummer. Sandisk 32 gb, two color (red/black) card. I did a quick search here and a guy over on the Note 2 forum had the same problem. Not sure if it's directly related to the 4.1.2 update but funny that it's happened elsewhere. Just posting in case it happens to someone else they can find this thread.

Sprint, Samsung halt Epic 4G's Froyo update due to data, SD card issues

Thursday 24th of February 2011 / android.net
Rut ro. If you've been wondering why your Sprint Epic 4G hasn't yet received the over-the-air update to Froyo, it's because Sprint and Samsung have yanked it from the servers. Apparently a number of folks were having problems with data connectivity, or with the SD card -- or both. And while a hard-reset seemed to fix it, nobody wants to do that (Hi, mom!).So, they pulled the update. Here's the official word:There have been an increased number of calls into Care regarding issues with the Epic following the upgrade. As a result, the upgrade will not be pushed to more devices until a resolution for these issues is in place. The OTW update on the Samsung website will also be taken down.Sprint and Samsung are actively working to correct these problems and release the update to all devices. The issues being reported are related to data connectivity following the upgrade and SD card issues when attempting to access photos, music, etc. If you are experiencing these issues, a hard reset has been reported to resolve the problems. A hard reset will wipe out all the data on your device, so a back

Micro SD Crash Course Please?

Tuesday 07th of May 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm probably going to plunge into the S4 this Friday...maybe...if the One doesn't do something amazing. Who knows. But right now I'm pretty set with the Galaxy I think. Anyhow. SD Card Crash Course? -What cards do you guys recommend/personally use? I don't want to break the bank but man, that 64gb Samsung xc card seems to be slick! -Do I need to format it, or do anything to the card before I put it in the phone? Set up folders on it? -I hear the cards caused crashing problems on some phones, was this just app related, hence the locking of apps to internal storage? Due to not properly formatting? -Any additional things to know? I know this seems like a silly topic but I'd rather make a post in preparation than a post asking for help on how to fix something that's gone wrong somehow. Thanks guys!

need help with my samsung galaxy s3. it has a few problems. i hope these things will be resolved.

Friday 12th of April 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
My samsung galaxy is about half a year old or probably more. But recently it started acting up on me. 1.) The sd card wont read almost everyday and i have to restart my phone for it to work and i have to do this a few times not just once. And 2.) The music player installed in this phone is annoying. I put together a playlist and then suddenly it will all disappear. This happened all the time. I think this two problems are related to each other as i save my downloaded music in my sd card so i hope someone has suggestions in solving this, i would appreciate it so much. Thanks.

MicroSD card problem, intermittent :(

Friday 28th of January 2011 / droidforums.net
I bought a 32Gb Card from Amazon, copied my old card's data to it, installed it and booted up my Droid (running 2.2 + Zeam, rooted). Everything worked fine, even apps installed to my SD card. Then, later, I noticed that my phone took FOREVER to mount the SD card when hooked up to my computer, and would randomly unmount itself during transfers. It got to the point where it would be faster to shut off the phone and pull the card to transfer files to it. (My wife's droid has the same Zeam setup but isn't rooted and has the factory 16Gb card, and still operates with no problems.) Most recently after rebooting (to get rid of the most recent OS update message) my phone refuses to see apps the card (it finds pics and vids in non-stock locations). Occasionally it would see the card and load apps, but only after a couple minutes after bootup. Most often it will load no apps from the card. Any ideas of what is going on? Could this be related to the most recent OTM update?

Ext SD Card Problem

Friday 21st of December 2012 / androidtablets.net
Hi ALL,I have a 16 GB ext SD card with a bunch of videos. My next project is to try to get some full movies on it for use when I travel. On my PC I have one or two of those "digital copies" that you get along with a Blu Ray disc. I figured they were encrypted as they need some kind of license to play but just to see I copied it over to the Ext SD card and tried to play it and it was unplayable. Then I went to delete it and it no longer shows up but the reported capacity of the ext SD is not back to where it was before. Before the copy there was about 9 GB free out of 15 GB. The file was about 2 GB and now even though its been deleted its showing only 7 GB free. I used HD File Mgr to delete it and I know some people have been having problems with that. Is there any way I can get the free space back to what it should be?Also, I hooked up the A500 to my PC and while I can see the ext SD it only shows up some folders but not all of them. Specifically the Videos folder does not show up. Not sure if this is related or not.Any help will be appreicated!Gerry

SD Card Related Problems

Saturday 27th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I recently bought a HTC Incredible to replace my old phone. The phone works fine until I put the SD card in. Once the card is loaded into the phone, android.process.media force closes when anything to do with media tries to open, and I mean from pictures and music and when the ringtone goes off for a phone call or text, and when I try to set the alarm, and some others. Another problem I'm facing is the phone recognizes that there is a SD card and it is mounted, but, it wont let me see the pictures or music, let alone the "cool ringtones", all I have are the stock ringtone and they wont go off if the SD card is in the phone because of the android.process.media failing when sound try to load. I have formatted the SD card and it didn't help, I have restarted the phone every time I set something new or made a change and so far nothing has worked. Anyone have any ideas???

SD Card and CWM issue

Sunday 28th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Ok, I managed to Root this tablet using this guide on xda, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044496. The issue is when I plug in to a PC, it does not give me my ext sd card as a drive to open. I tried three different cards. So I am stuck at step 4 and 5 for the CWM install. I can take the sd card out and use the reader on the laptop, and transfer that way but, that is time consuming. Not sure if it related, GScript and Mobileuncle both look for files in the "sdcard" folder. On these devices, mine anyway, the ext sd card folder is "sdcard2". I had to move the files to the internal storage to finish those steps. That is not working for steps 4 and 5. Has anyone used this guide and successfully completed it with no problems or had a problem like this and fixed it?Maybe someone can tell me a easier way to install CWM?The device is a A2107A-H on AT&T.Thanks in advance.
