SD card is empty but shows full

Monday 18th of April 2011 / androidforums.com
Hi guys. I was just adding music to my Captivate and I decided that I would delete everything and start again. After doing so, I noticed that my SD card showed itself to be almost completely full; around 12 gigs plus out of 13. And I checked all my folders and see no sign of it being full. Any ideas on how to resolve this?Thank you

SD Card not reading. Please help.

Friday 06th of July 2012 / androidforums.com
I just upgraded from my Captivate to a shiny new S3, and I am so excited, but I'm having a problem with my microSD card. When it's in the Captivate and mounted, I can go into the directory mnt/sd and see all the things on the card, including my photos and music, etc. When I unmount the card and move it into the S3, the directory shows only 4 folders - LOST.DIR, DCIM and a couple others. All these folders are empty. I have tried unmounting and re-mounting the SD card, turning the phone off and on again, but it just is not reading the files. When I put the SD card back in the Captivate, boom, it works fine, I can see everything right there in the directory.I have checked both the mnt/sd and mnt/ext_sd directories in the S3, with no results. It simply is not recognizing that this SD card is full of information. Can anyone help me fix this? I will be really sad if I can't transfer all my pictures and music to my new phone.

Cant see files on sd card

Thursday 01st of August 2013 / androidforums.com
I put some video files on my sd card to watch with mx player but it says that theres no files. I put an mkv file(which mxplayer can read) and an mp4 file but it says there no files, also i put them straight on the sd card at first and then in a folder and same thing. Im using a 4gb micro sd and the mkv file is 2gb and the mp4 file is 800mb. When i go to settings, it says that the sd card is only 100mb full from some crap and 3.7gb free space even though i have 2 files which take almost 3 gbs of space. I used astro file manager and when i go to the external sd file, it shows nothing and says sd card is empty. Whats going on. Im trying to watch some movies with mx player but everytime i put video file, it wont show on android. Im using android 4.2.2. Anyone whats going on here? Im still a noob at using android.Btw the sd card is formatted as fat32

Emulated sd card on s duos

Thursday 03rd of October 2013 / androidforums.com
My sduos says that I cannot transfer apps as the sd card is emulated... In my camera settings the pictures are by default saved on memory card and not on phone. But still on my storage info in settings it shows a nearly full primary device storage and practically empty external card storage. I went to 'my files' and there all the photos were in external sd.I very often cannot access my gallery as it says please delete some apps to perform this action. I have hardly any apps left on my android now... Can anyone give me a solution to this?

Tips on Link2SD

Thursday 12th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
Been having out of memory problems with my SGV. I have it rooted and Link2SD installed. I have it set to auto link all installs to the external SD. I have a 32gb SD partition off with about 10GB allocated to the phone. Even though EVERY app is set to go to the extSDCard, the internal 1.73gb card fills up.I just don't get why internal fills up. I browsed the internal card on my PC and all the folders there are empty but the card is still full. Another thing is about 19GB of the extSDCard is not viewable by the phone or on the PC but shows in Link2SD as free...Any tips?? Thanks!
