Bricked it! Deleted all apps, no USB debugging

Sunday 12th of June 2011 / androidforums.com
LG Optimus M (MS690)Well I rooted it, then I was getting rid of some apps that came with the phone and I think I may have accidentally deleted everything in the /apps folder. I know for sure LGHome or whatever is gone. I can't get into the settings menu.Phone hangs at "Android" loading screen.I tried to do a factory reset (big mistake because it turned off USB debugging) but the setup app crashes. I can't do a google search. "Connection problem ! Google search. [speak again] [cancel]."So I've been screwing around with it all night. I downloaded Android SDK, but I get "device not found" when I try adb shell.I tried "recovery phone" through the LG updater but I got the error, "Updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal error while the LG Mobile Phone Software Update." Exactly like you see it there, in broken English.I do have all the original apps that I deleted on my SD card in a folder. My PC recognizes the phone, and I can browse the SD card when the phone is plugged in to the PC.I wanted to try to push files back to where th

USB Debugging Without Screen

Tuesday 24th of July 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I managed to crack my screen on my GN and it was rooted with Jellybean. It was insured so I was sent a replacement, but my problem is sending back the old one seeing as the bootloader is still unlocked. I used Wugs Root Toolkit to flash it back to stock and unroot it but in order to lock the bootloader I need to turn USB Debugging on but I have no control over the screen. Any suggestions?

How do I turn off the USB Debugging notification?

Friday 05th of March 2010 / androidforums.com
This is really minor, but it's annoying to me to have an icon in my notification bar up top that USB debugging is connected. I realize I have to have the USB debugging option checked in settings, but it's annoying that this notification icon appears whenever I plug the phone into the computer. How do I disable this icon?

Disable USB debugging when screen is locked?

Thursday 08th of July 2010 / droidforums.net
I just made a shocking discovery. Eclair stores its exchange credentials in plaintext in an sqlite database on the device. If USB debugging is on, all one has to do to get the users exchange credentials is pull the file and READ IT whether or not the phone is locked. I am wondering if there is a way to disable USB debugging while the device is locked?

Dead Screen. Need Keyboard sequence for USB Debugging.

Thursday 11th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Can someone please give me the keyboard sequence for turning on USB Debugging on a Stratosphere with a stock ROM and launcher and all? My wife dropped her phone and now the screen is dead. The touchscreen seems sort of working in places, but I can't see anything. Need to turn on USB Debugging to be able to get her contacts off of it. I see the keyboard has a menu button and arrow keys and whatnot, and if needed, I could probably click on the left bottom (or is it right?) corner of the screen to get into the menu.. I just need the steps.. like click down 5 times. Click right. Click down 4 times. Etc... I'm hoping there's a way... Thanks,JR

Screen smashed. USB Debugging off.

Tuesday 13th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Good day all. I have in my possession a T989 with a cracked screen and unfortunately USB debugging was not switched on prior to this. The screen doesn't respond to any touch, from what I can observe, and it is completely blank. I've already lamented enough over losing the phone, now I'm just hoping I can get my files from the sdcard. I know a little about ADB and I had hoped I would have been able to pull these files but that hasn't worked (no USB debugging and all). I've been trying to find ways to enable USB debugging via cmd but that doesn't seem to work either. So right now I'm stuck. I'm looking for a way to access the sdcard OR to emulate/stream the phone's screen to my PC and then control it to hopefully enable USB debugging. It was running a CyanogenMod ROM before it died. Can anyone assist? I would really appreciate any help.

Galaxy S3 L710 Broken Screen and USB Debugging Not enabled

Wednesday 04th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a completely stock Galaxy S3 L710 and the LCD/ Digitizer is broken and Black. All other functions work on the phone. I need to back everything up before replacing the LCD but USB Debugging is not enabled and ADB commands will not work since any commands require debugging enabled. 1) Is there a way to do a full system, app and file backup using adb commands?2) Is it possible to enable USB Debugging via methods using adb commands? Thanks in advance,Bob
