screen rotation problem

Wednesday 20th of February 2013 / androidforums.com
Hello everyone. I had purchased the ZTE Avid 4G 5 days ago and sometimes the screen is lock in portrait view. Restarting the phone will fix the problem, but after a couple of hours the screen on the phone will not rotating to landscape. I did check the box next to auto rotation in settings so it's not a setting problem. Anyone experienced this issue with the ZTE Avid 4G? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EVO LTE screen rotation issue, Droid TV

Tuesday 29th of May 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Anyone out there have a problem with screen rotation? I'm using Droid TV, and want to have the phone up on the kickstand while simultaneously charging, i.e. microUSB pointing up. When playing a downloaded TV episode, playback is upside down, like it supports rotate left only, but not rotate right. I emailed the good folks at Droid TV, and they told me it's an issue with the phone's media player. I understand HTC went with their own player on this phone. Anyone run into this, and can help me out with a solution? Thanks, Brian

Desktop cradles and screen rotation

Wednesday 26th of October 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi All, I spend most of my workdays in front of a computer, and have been looking at buying a charging cradle for my Merge (U.S. Cellular). I had a cradle for my last phone (HTC Touch, Windows Mobile 6) and found it very useful. Unlike the Touch, however, the USB port on the Merge is on the side of the phone. Correspondingly, the (very few) cradles that I've found for sale for the Merge require docking the phone horizontally. Personally, I don't have a preference for which way the phone is oriented - but I do want the text to be right-side-up when I'm looking at the screen. One of the few, persistent issues I've had with the Merge is screen rotation. Realistically, the problem probably stems from my lack of understanding about how screen rotation does / is supposed to work. Nonetheless, the fact remains that the home, dialer, and a few other common screens do not rotate, unless I force them to do so by sliding out the keyboard. (At which point they work fine, which begs the question why they don't rotate automatically, but that's another topic...) My concern, therefore, is that the

[Support] For all that are having screen rotation Problems

Tuesday 09th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
I posted a "fix" a while back for this problem and it seemed to work. You can find it here: screen rotation problemBut as my phone got older the problem came back and was worse. It seems to be an accelerometer defect, which is a manufacturer defect and is covered by a 12 month manufacturer warranty. So I would suggest just bringing your phone back to the store you bought it from. They will replace it for free.

Upside Down Camera & No Screen Rotation

Saturday 24th of May 2014 / androidforums.com
Hello all,I have a problem that is driving me insane. Before I outline it, screen rotation is activated and is ON...For no reason today my S5 has developed 2 problems...1) The default camera is displaying everything upside down (ie, inverted). All the 'buttons' (camera, video) are upside down but the image BEFORE I take a picture is the right way up. However, when I take a photo the image comes out upside down too.2) No screens eg, Internet page etc, will rotate...they are all stuck in the vertical and won't go horizontal when the camera is moved. Is there a fix?Or is this a bug I've picked up?Do I need to factory reset?I'm a recent Iphone convert where backing up was simply connecting to Itunes. What's the best way to back up before a factory reset...or is it all backed up in my google account. Please help - it's driving me mad!!!CheersJD

KitKat 4.4.4 Screen Rotation Issue

Friday 25th of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I noticed a rotation problem after updating to 4.4.4. The screen rotates randomly (probably it just reaches the point where the rotation should happen). But after this unintentional rotation, it doesn't come back to default position till I shake the device twice or thrice. I don't know if this is a problem with the update, but it worked fine until some days back. Anyone else noticed this?
