Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Hits FCC, Heading to AT&T Soon

Monday 22nd of April 2013 / android.gs
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has just been announced recently, and the device has already showed up at the FCC. The model features AT&T+ bands.Nevertheless, the model number GT-I9200 is just the HSPA+ variant, meaning that unlike the GT-I9205, this model won’t have support for 4G LTE connectivity. Even tough, the Galaxy Mega was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, the handset is not to be considered a flagship smartphone, because it comes with mid-range hardware. The phone sports a 6.3-inch screen and is meant specially for those who own a smartphone and a tablet and want to carry a single device. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 provides a big screen as well as the standard features that can be found on any other phone.Except for the size of the screen, we should also mention that it has a resolution of 1280 x 720, which is pretty decent for s device that we expect to have a decent price. The Galaxy Mega is underpinned by a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz, it packs 1.5 GHz of RAM and comes it two versions depending on the amount of on-board storage, 8/16 GB. It also has support for microSD

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 in stock at some retailers, but it doesn't come cheap

Friday 07th of June 2013 / androidauthority.com.feedsportal.com
The Samsung Galaxy Mega family is an oddity. Its members are larger than the Galaxy Note 2, but come without the much revered S-Pen. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 shares the same design ethos as the Galaxy S4, but with a supersized 6.3-inch 720p HD screen. The Mega 6.3’s other specs don’t quite share the same high-end specs as the Note range, coming with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Now if those specifications make your spine tingle and you’re interested in buying this rather large smartphone, you’re in luck. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has just shown up as in stock at Expansys USA and Unlocked Mobiles UK, but that massive screen is going to cost you a pretty penny.Expansys is selling the Mega 6.3 for a little under $600 ($595), but the Unlocked Mobiles price will put an even bigger hole through your wallet. The retailer is selling the device for £498.97 including VAT ($777.20). Other retailers have the Galaxy Mega 6.3 listed, but the Mega 6.3  is labelled as out of stock. So if you’re still interested, and your wallet h

Samsung is trying to widen the color options of its smartphone line-up and, and after we’ve heard that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in Aurora Red (for the time being exclusively at AT&T), the South Korean phone maker will introduce a new color for its Galaxy Mega phablets.Sammobile is reporting that Sammy is preparing to launch a new body livery for its Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8. The new body color is called Plum Purple and the same publication writes that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 will become available in the new body color sometime around week 28 – 30 (that’s 2 -4 weeks from now).Even though the press photo of the Plum Purple Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 wasn’t made available, the guys at Sammobile launched Photo Shop and managed to create the above picture which gives us an idea of how the two phablets will look like in purple. Even though the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 are supposed to be a part of the same family of devices, there are a lot of differences between the two in te

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 For AT&T (SGH-I527) Shows Up In Leaked Photo

Saturday 17th of August 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
When Samsung showed off its enormous new Galaxy Mega series earlier this year, we thought that it was only a matter of time before an American carrier decided to pick one up. It looks like AT&T is taking the bait if the latest post from the indefatigable evleaks can be believed. It shows the Galaxy Mega 6.3, the larger of the two phones, with AT&T branding and icons. Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 (SGH-I527 Melius) for AT&T pic.twitter.com/zAM1M47LJp— @evleaks (@evleaks) August 17, 2013The Galaxy Mega phones are relatively low-cost alternatives to Samsung's Galaxy Note series, minus the stylus and digitizer. The Mega 6.3 (inches) has an LCD screen that's just 1280x720 resolution - very low for a new phone with as large a screen as it has. The international version revealed back in April uses a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, either 8 or 16GB of storage plus MicroSD, and an 8 megapixel rear camera. That huge screen size allows for an equally huge battery rated at 3300mAh, despite the phone's relatively slim 8mm chassis. Software is Samsung's TouchWiz over Android

Wednesday 28th of August 2013 / androidspin.com
Samsung Australia has today announced the price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 in Australia, to be exclusively sold at JB Hi-Fi stores at a RRP of $599. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will also be available at that price from any of the Samsung Experience Stores in either Sydney or Melbourne. When we first saw the Galaxy Mega 6.3, we were a bit sceptical; it seemed a lot like a way for Samsung to cash in on the mid-range market that didn’t have a phablet presence with a phone who’s specifications didn’t exactly set the world on fire. Though when you really look at the Galaxy Mega 6.3, with its 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2.2, it actually comes off as a slightly more budget, but more updated Galaxy Note 2. And that’s definitely not a bad thing considering the Note 2 is waiting for any sort of an update from Android 4.1.2.Whatever your stance on phablets, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is in a market of its own right now, so we’ll see if it makes an impact around the world. Are you going to get a Galaxy Mega 6.3? Let us know if you are in the com
