Samsung Galaxy S2 Problems - Possibly Hardware Related?

Wednesday 07th of December 2011 / android.stackexchange.com
I've had my Galaxy S2 SGH-I777 (AT&T) for about 2 months now and everything has been great up until yesterday. I started experiencing some freezing and strange behavior. The phone is unrooted and using the stock ROM.The problems include but are not limited to:Random freezing when the phone is locked (by pressing the power button). Always have to do a hard reset.Random notifications about MTP initialization when no USB cable has been plugged into the phone.Vlingo Voice command (come preloaded on the phone) randomly popping up/starting without anything being pressed.Sometimes when I power off the phone it doesn't actually turn off completely but just restarts.Plugging in the USB cable while the phone is off turns it on (I don't think this is default behavior). And just recently I've had some strange touchscreen issues. Random letters being typed that I haven't touched etc. These issues are not constant but occur intermittently. I've already performed a factory reset, but the problems persist. Since I have yet to read about anyone else having similar problems with their phones, this

Samsung Galaxy SII Problems/Questions

Tuesday 06th of November 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi guys, my name's Nick. I've had the Galaxy SII since last December. It never really gave me a problem, until I about 3-4 weeks ago. The current problems are as follows:Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped. The screen randomly flickers and then shuts down, and drops battery to a critical level. It freezes after each action. So here's what I think caused the problem, I downloaded some emulator apps from the market and ran some ROMs on the phone. The errors annoyed me, so I uninstalled the apps, they still persisted. I did a factory reset about 2 weeks ago thinking that would remove any problem and make the phone like new... I was wrong. The battery charge percent still randomly dropped to nothing. I decided to do the Android update to my phone to like 4.0.4 or something like that thinking "Hey, it'll overwrite everything and make it all good." I was wrong again. Now it cause the phone to freeze after every action I do, and following the freezing, the google gapps errors occurs and closes whatever I'm doing. That about sums it up. If anyone knows how t

Samsung Galaxy S3 problems, abit worrying...

Saturday 05th of January 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi, I've got a Samsung galaxy s3 and a few things are happening and it's abit worrying. Firstly when I press the power button or the main key on the phone to the unlock screen sometimes my screen flashes purple for a split second then to goes to the unlock screen and ive looked all over the Internet and have found nothing.*Secondly when I receive a call and I have my headphones in and I unplug them to answer when I finish the call music starts playing out of my phone speaker, this has happened when I haven't been playing music through my headphone but they've been plugged in.*Lastly (my brightness is on the lowest setting) sometimes when I press the power or key to go to the lock screen the screen goes really bright (like its on the highest brightness) and it says on settings the brighness is still on the lowest it can be and I have to lock my phone for the brighness to go back to normal, this id alot more common than the purple screen and both never happen at the same time.I don't know what to do about this and any diagnosis or advice on any of these problems would be a great help.T

Samsung Galaxy Centra problems

Saturday 22nd of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Bought my phone a couple weeks ago but the last few days I've been having problems with it randomly rebooting out of the blue, and it not keeping the correct time. Not sure what to do about the first issue, but the time issues i've already tried both the automatic time setting and manually setting, but the problem remains. Also tried asking for help on the samsung facebook help page but their suggestion of just clearing the clock cache didn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

Samsung Galaxy Centra problems

Thursday 29th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I've only had the phone a few months but am starting to have a few issues:* Notification screen, I slide down and screen is black. I usually have to hit the lock button on and off for the notifications to show up (this just started in the last few days).* Phone internal GPS or whatever it is keeps putting my location to cities I'm not in (cities almost 200 miles away). Same ones all the time but obviously not where I'm located. This will happen when I try to use a weather app or even on Facebook. Not a huge issue obviously but weird. Anybody have any ideas - especially on the notification screen issue? Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy S4 Problems

Saturday 19th of April 2014 / androidforums.com
I picked up my Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337) from an AT&T store about two months ago. I got a case for it, car charger, gorilla glass, etc. As previously having been an Apple iPhone user wanting a change, I initially took a great liking to the phone and it's technological features. However, it's been two months in and the cracks are starting to show... big time.My first issue is the audio quality. Even with the volume cranked at the max, the audio output through my headphones (or any output) just sounds muffled, flat and soft, especially compared to the output on my iphone 4s. I've tried playing with the EQs with apps and different sets of headphones - the same problem persisting. I did a little research and found that the audio chip in the Galaxy S4 isn't great and that's why the sound is inferior to my iPhone. Okay, no problem, maybe I could live with that. Then about 2-3 weeks ago I updated to Android 4.4.2. I thought that this would be a good thing; 'why wouldn't you update your phone's firmware, making it perform even better?' - was my assumption. Turns out this was an awful i
