How to change the Galaxy S4 lock screen message

Friday 03rd of May 2013 / androidcentral.com
The tag line for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is "Life companion." And that's a fine slogan. But if you're a little tired of seeing it on your phone every time you turn it on, you're not alone.Fortunately, it's easy to change. Samsung's taking advantage of the lock screen widgets in Android 4.2.2 to provide that custom greeting, clock and date as soon as you wake the phone. You can change the font, color and size, remove the clock and date if you want -- or get rid of the widget altogether.See also:How to stop notification vibrations on the Galaxy S4 (non-U.S.)How to turn off those annoying Galaxy S4 soundsTwo ways to go about this:The long way: Go to Settings>My device>Lock screen>Lock screen widgets. That'll get you to the customization page. The easy way: From the lock screen, tap and hold on the "Life companion" line, then drag down. You should now see a little edit icon on the bottom right of the widget, about halfway down the screen. Tap it to go directly to the customization page. And that's it. From there, you can change the sl

Three ways to add camera shortcuts to the Galaxy S4 lock screen

Sunday 05th of May 2013 / androidcentral.com
As with many features of the Galaxy S4, there's more than one way to get a camera shortcut on the lock screenThe Samsung Galaxy S4 is brimming with features, but right out of the box you could be forgiven for thinking there's no way of unlocking the phone straight into the camera app. Like many of the S4's advanced features, this is optional, and disabled by default. Enabling it is easy enough, but as it turns out there are three different kinds of camera shortcuts you can put on the Galaxy S4's lock screen. The first is simple enough -- from the Settings app, go to My device > Lock screen and enable "Shortcuts." From there you can customize which shortcut icons are shown down below on the lock screen, and loading one of these apps up is a simple as dragging it upwards. Naturally, one of the defaults is the camera app.The second and third ways both involve lock screen widgets, and you'll need to enable them through Settings > My device > Lock screen > Multiple widgets. Once that's done, you can go to Lock screen widgets > Favorite apps

Remove Lock-screen Password

Sunday 02nd of June 2013 / droidforums.net
Hi,I have been trying for some time, to remove the lock screen password. The stock solutions don't work as having entered my password the option to select None is greyed-out, stating it has been disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage. The only device administrator Update Agent is disabled, I don't think I've opted to encrypt the device and I don't know what credential storage is. Your help would be appreciated.Regards,Mac

S4 Lock Screen Keyboard Popup

Friday 21st of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey guys, I just bought an S4 last night and loving it so far, but there is one little thing that bugs me. I have my lock screen set to "password". Whenever I turn my device on to check the time or date or whatever, the s4 immediately pops up the keyboard with the assumption I want to log in. Is there a way I can stop the keyboard from popping up immediately? Thanks for the help.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Lock Screen Issue *fix*

Sunday 27th of April 2014 / androidforums.com
I recently had an issue with my S4 lock screen and when I googled around for advice on a fix I couldn't find a definitive answer other than try this that or the other and see what happens. Now I've found the issue I thought I would come on and post the fix that worked for me and see if that helps anyone else. The issue I had was that when I locked the screen and put the phone away I then had an issue trying to wake it back up again when I wanted to use it. The back and menu keys would light up but nothing else would happen. Sometimes the screen would come on but was unresponsive when I tried to unlock it. Some people said it was due to KitKat but I had this issue before that, the update just made it a lot worse. I tried restoring the phone to factory settings which didn't help either.I found a temporary fix that worked which was to download a new lock screen but I didn't like it so I gave in and sent it off to Samsung for repair. In the mean time I needed a phone so my fiance let me use his phone which is the same phone except it's white. He's never had this lock screen issue yet onc

Forgot my lock screen password, reboot doesnt work

Tuesday 15th of July 2014 / androidforums.com
Okay so a few weeks ago i broke my phone (it feel on the road, the screen was completly ruined all over. it still worked though, but i couldnt really see anything because of how much the phone was ruined) so i took it to get fixed and got it back today. Everything is perfectly in order, until i realize i forgot my lock screen password. It has been quite long since i last used my phone and i just cant remember my password. So i decided to reboot it, holding the volume up, home and power button. Nothing happens, my phone simply turns on and continues as usual. I was very confused because i did reboot my phone before and i could reboot it just fine. So i pressed volume down, home and power button and my phone went to ODIN mode, but again no reboot mode, no factory dana reset option. So im definitly going to call someone to get that checked, but im wondering has anyone ever came across something like this, and importantly did you manage to solve it, and how? Also, i apologize for any errors and i hope you will understand everything, but English is not my first language
