Optimus Elite root with an apk

Thursday 06th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
It seems that people are having some trouble with rooting this phone. So here's an apk that will hopefully work right from the phone. So that means to fiddling with drivers, adb, compiling software, or any of that fun stuff. So far this has only been used on about 3 phones. Of those 3, all of them made it out alive and are probably still working. So now it is time for more of an open beta type deal. Why are there 2 apks provided? Do I need to install both?Poot-debug.apk is the miracle worker here. In order for it to work, it needs some libraries provided by Ministro.apk. If ministro is already installed, you can skip installing it again. If you don't have access to the googleplay app store, there is an apk for ministro attached to this post. What does Poot do?So, you got the Poot-debug.apk installed and ministro installed from somewhere. Start up Poot. After it gets some libraries using ministro, you should see a screen with a button at the top that says "Press here to poot" and a big white log window. Press that button and cross your fingers. It will try to do some haxxory a

What does it mean exactly to "Unlock the Bootloader" with the APK file ASUS offers?

Friday 08th of March 2013 / androidtablets.net
I was under the impression that this meant to have root access, and some websites I searched around for it actually said that's what it is, but I do not have root access on my tablet, even though I've unlocked the bootloader with the ASUS APK file. So, what is unlocking the bootloader then?

Can't get root access with Gingerbreak apk 1.2

Friday 01st of July 2011 / androidforums.com
I've got a stock "V" with 8g and stock 2g sd card. Downloaded Gingerbreak apkv1.2 the first time with 8g card installed, used supermanager to open and install. Ran the exploit and attempted to install superuser. I gave up on it after 25 min. . Cleared it off system and sd card. Tried to download from different source(there ain't but one). Downloaded again, 2g installed, but this time put on root of sd card. 2nd attempt, gave up after 20min. Cleared again but reformatted the sd card to fat32. 3rd attempt, gave up after 15min. Any ideas or suggestions, or fixes? Edit: Downloaded root checker from the market just in case. Sorry, you dont have root access. Sorry, you don't have busybox installed corectly.

root access with ES File Explorer?

Thursday 19th of January 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Will someone please help me get root access with ES File Explorer? I was looking for a good file explorer utility with a root explorer feature. I already had ES File Explorer installed and saw that it supposedly has a root explorer feature. Well, I've searched all through it and I must be missing something because I can't find any way to explore anything on my NT except for the sd card. I've went into the settings, down to the Root settings and checked Root Explorer and Mount File System but this hasn't seemed to help. I see no way to "get to" the root directory. If I try using the up arrow to move up a level in the directory tree, I can't get up any further than the sd card. It just say press again to close. What am I missing? Thanks to anyone that may be able to help get to where I want to be. - Byron
