Anyone upgrade from a Razr Maxx? Comparisons?

Sunday 15th of July 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I was one of the many people that was forced into the decision to upgrade my phone before the 27th to keep my unlimited & decided to go with the Galaxy S3 like many people did....I struggled with the decision to do this over the Razr Maxx even though battery life was something that was very intriguing to me.... I've had my GS3 for about 5 days and I'm happy with it, but coming from a BlackBerry Curve 8330, I think I could've been just as happy with the Razr Maxx as well....Battery life has been OK on the GS3, but I'm strongly considering returning for the Razr Maxx.... So my question is, for those of you who have upgraded from the Razr Maxx and have been able to compare the 2, what are your thoughts? Besides the extra memory and better processor, convince me that I should not exchange it... Appreciate your feedback

Razr Maxx Data issue (and not getting calls)

Saturday 28th of January 2012 / droidforums.net
I got my Razr Maxx as soon as the Verizon store opened, I waited for the battery life after returning my original Razr. The battery is awesome, it actually does last all day!Now off to the issues, and they are major ones. I keep losing my data, and for long periods of time. I called Motorola tech support and they had me download the "restore connectivity settings" app from the app store. It was supposed to fix the issues, and in the 5hrs since I downloaded it I lost the data 4 times (that I noticed). While holding for second level tech support I got hung up on twice. On the third call I was told they had left for the day. You would think they would have fixed this known issue before releasing a new phone! Does anyone have any suggestions?I am also having trouble receiving all my calls. So far 4 times I have gotten random voicemails when my phone didn't ring. All 4 people said my phone just went to voicemail without ringing and I happened to be in an area with perfect service. Is anyone else having this issue too?Jim

Returning phone back to stock for jellybean

Saturday 09th of March 2013 / droidforums.net
Hi, I downloaded Matt's 1.8 utility a while back and rooted my maxx. I also installed the .215 leak and voodoo. I want to return my phone back to stock so I can download the jellybean update. About a month ago my laptop crashed and I had to get a new hard drive so I lost everything. If I redownload the 1.8 utility, can I do everything from there? I know I can click option 1 to go back to .211. Can I unroot from there too? How can I save all of my apps so I don't lose them when I restore my phone? Most of my apps are off of 4shared and not the play store. Thanks

Returning my Maxx.

Monday 26th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
I think I'm going to return my Maxx before the 14 day return period is up and wait for the Droid Fighter or get the Galaxy Nexus. The razr maxx is a very good phone, but coming from an iphone and webOS, I need to have ICS.Hardware wise, I really love the Razr Maxx and I even like the Moto skin too. But I don't think I can live with Gingerbread. The ICS's soft buttons really grew on me too and I kind of want that on my next phone, and if I keep the Maxx, I don't think I can live with the 4 dedicated buttons for the next 2 years.

Clearing the Razr HD/Maxx (##PROGRAM) Menu ROOT CHECKER

Monday 24th of June 2013 / droidforums.net
Some of you may or may not know that the HD/Maxx has a Root checker in the ##PROGRAM menu (accessed from the phone dialer. At the bottom a menu option says Device Rooting, clicking it will either say Rooted or Not Rooted. Well I (like most) root my phones. I found this out and pointed it out to Droid-Life. Up to now I could flash back 20 ICS and OTA to JB and that would clear the Root Checker. Now even FXZing and reapplying the OTA update via recovery won't do it. So my issue I'm returning a defective Maxx HD to VZW and need it un rooted. So I tried all my usual methods. No luck... Any ideas anyone!?Tip: Check the ?Rooted? Status on Your DROID RAZR HD ? As we approach day 14, let us know if you're keeping your Maxx or it's going back for another model.Personally, I'm keeping my Maxx. It's everything that I'd hoped it would be. I mean it's EVERYTHING that I hoped every smartphone that I've ever had would be.

Lg g2 199.99 really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday 08th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Well the LG G2 is launching on Verizon this Thurs the 12th for 199.99 a 100 bucks less then the Maxx I am pretty pissed about that. The phone looks awesome very innovative big battery great screen packed with extras great camera etc. And guess what the 12th is the end of my 14 days to return the Maxx. I am thinking hard on going there on Thursday and checking out the LG and possibly returning the Maxx even with the restock fee I would still come out ahead. How come LG can release this phone for 199 and Moto can't even seem to get stock to stores that were willing to sell at that price. I am really just PISSED!!!!! How do you guys feel? i don't know anything about LG how is there update time frames, build quality and can they easily be rooted/good amount of dev support.

[Deal Alert] Amazon Discounts Verizon's New DROIDs: MAXX For $69.99, Ultra And Mini For $.01 On Contract

Sunday 03rd of November 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
There's a lot to like about Motorola's Verizon-specific DROID line. They don't have the most groundbreaking specs, but they're covered in Kevlar and they feature Motorola's excellent radios and battery life. If you're looking to get your Active Notifications on for not much cash. Amazon has some massive discounts on the three new models. New Verizon customers can pick up the long-lived DROID MAXX for $69.99, and svelte DROID Ultra or the compact DROID Mini for just a penny. If you're a returning Verizon customer, Amazon isn't keeping you out in the cold. Those who are eligible for an upgrade can get a MAXX for $99.99 or the Ultra for $19.99. The Mini? It's still $.01, so it's a good day to be a fan of compact Verizon phones, I suppose. As usual, unsubsidized prices are not discounted at all (in fact they're more expensive than Verizon's current prices). For my money, the DROID Mini is the best current phone in Verizon's lineup if you want something smaller with reasonably high specs, especially when it comes to RAM. And of course he MAXX is great if you rely on a phone that lasts mor

Returning it and what should i get to replace the Nexus.

Monday 11th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I am returning my Nexus. I really liked it but my phone could not hold on to a signal. I called google because it would not remain connected and always lost the signal. Other phones did have reception so it was not the carrier. I called google and the CS rep was not helpful and rude. She did not know what a SIM card was. They said they would send a replacement phone out and I should expect it next week. To me that is unacceptable, if my phone won't make calls or hold on to data I except a overnight replacement not a week from now. Plus they would not expand my refund period to try out the new phone to make sure that one works. To me the CS department at google should be better than this. I am disgusted with google and returning it. I was wondering what I should get to replace this one. The MOTO X or S4 or go to verizon and get the droid maxx. I just wondering since I am off contract. Thanks.

Day 3 Moto X

Saturday 16th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Loving it so far! I ordered my 32gb Moto X with a royal blue back, white front, yellow accents, and Chelsea FC etched onto the back on Tuesday afternoon and it was on my doorstep Thursday morning- I was quite impressed with the turn around time. Likes:--The look and feel of the phone. I held a few in best buy and the felt light and plastic, but this one has good weight and does not feel like plastic at all.--Active notifications. I didnt think they would be that great until I actually got a chance to use them.--Battery life. I came from a Razr Maxx so I was worried that I would be returning it within the first 14 days to get a Droid Maxx due to the battery life. But yesterday I got a soild 16 hours use with 3 hour screen time. I ran it until I was down to 3%. Not as good as the maxx, but this will do fine as long as that keeps true.--This phone is so fluid, I cant make it stutter or lag, im hoping I feel the same in 6 months.--The fact that after I turned my phone on upon arrival I was already logged into my home wifi and all my apps started to download from my maxx. Dislikes.--I di
