Restore factory settings = lose carrier?

Sunday 25th of September 2011 / androidforums.com
I have locked my gmail account to my phone's Android Market application, meaning I can't log into the Android Market with another account. And I can't delete that account from the phone. I've read a few tutorials and tried those... the ones with the making a new account and trying to log in with that, etc. but it didn't work. Now, the only solution I see is using what the phone suggests: going back to factory settings. But because it's a new phone and it's more of a exchange phone for a month, a Samsung Galaxy S2.. I'm a bit worried about doing the factory reset.I would like to ask, the people that did this, what exactly do you lose when you do a factory reset and especially if you lose your carrier when you go back to factory settings.. The carrier on this phone is Orange. Thanks in advance for any info!

How to reset pattern lock on galaxy spica i5700

Monday 30th of November 2009 / androidforums.com
I have a galaxy i5700 aka sprica and to make a long story short while letting someone check out the features pattern recognition was enabled and they couldn't remember the pattern so now I'm locked out of my phone. It would be most appreciated if someone could please tell me how to hard reset (key combos etc) on boot up to reset factory settings as I can't get to the menu.I am so not digging the fact I have nothing more right now then an expensive electronic brick. To reset the phone to factory settings I did [call + ok + power on] then choose option # 19 on the menu called reset that doesn't work to be factory resetting because when i boot back up i still get the pattern lock.I'm bought it in france and they are telling me i need to send it in and wait 3 weeks i just got it a few days ago!!!Someone offered to walk me through a reboot using ADB on SDK so I'm crossing my fingers. However if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Stock GNexus wont Restore Factory Settings.

Thursday 20th of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey Guys, I am with Virgin Mobile and purchased my Galaxy Nexus from them. I have never rooted, or did anything of the sort. The jelly bean update was sent to my phone and would always get stuck on the "Google" screen when trying to update. I had to pull my battery each time. Now, I tried to do a factory reset and it also just got stuck at the google screen requiring a battery pull. So I did a hard reset and tried to force a reset, but it once again got stuck at the Google screen. Regardless of which way I try, I cannot seem to restore my phone to factory settings. I am using a mac and have made a back up, but I cant seem to reset it so that my carrier will update to jelly bean. I would like to continue using a stock-carrier phone, I don't need to root. Any tips?

Please Help me restore my factory settings on my phone.

Sunday 30th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi everyone. About half a year back i made the mistake of trying to unlock bootloader on my phone so i could mess with app permissions and such. it didnt really work out but the phone has been working fine up till a couple months ago where the standard messaging app wouldnt work, i downloaded a messaging app from play store and now thats started to mess up too. so i want to restore to factory settings to make an attempt at fixing this issue. However when i made an attempt at this from the settings/storage/factory data reset. it just restarts my phone and loads up bootloader menu. it then loaded my phone back up with exactly the same set up as before i tried to reset it. So it has the same apps and such but no photos or videos etc. I also tried to reset it using the bootloader menu ( white background coloured writing saying relocked security warning etc. ) Also whenever i try to do a system update it just restarts to the "relocked security warning " screen. Please help me get rid of this and make it back to normal . Oh and i picked prefix as support because .. i need support

Razr HD froze durring Reset to Factory Settings.

Wednesday 09th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
I have a Motorola Razr HD, which was from Rogers. They could not give me coverage to my new residence, so I had to switch to Virgin Mobile. I paid the $50 for Rogers to unlock my phone, but when Virgin put their SIM card in, nothing happened. Apparently a screen should come up and an 8 digit code (which I have) is to be entered and the unlock will do its thing. They tried a new SIM card and still nothing. With a little search on the web, I found out I should reset the phone to Factory settings. I went to settings, privacy, Factory reset or w.e, confirmed I wanted to earease everything, and the phone turned off. A little green robot popped on the screen with a round object circling around in his stomach. After about two minutes, the guy falls over and has a ! over his head. The screen goes black. The motorola symbol pops up, goes to the green dude, he falls over, and it repeats. It has been repeating this process for 24 hours now. I powered the phone down externally by holding the Volume up, Volume down, and Hold button. The screen goes black, but restarts right away, and continues re

Reset Factory Setting on S3 - cant find back up made before reset

Thursday 17th of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, i am in desperate need of help or advise please. my S3 was freezing all the time and yesterday morning I did a back up to (gmail) and reset factory settings. It seems like I have lost everything (Not picking up my sd card, all my images, music, documents - GONE) So I have loaded some pictures from my pc onto my phone after the reset, and there are pictures I deleted a very long time ago (In a folder that says Autoback-up) - Now it doesn't give me the option to delete it AGAIN. Do you suggest I do another reset and then try to get my back up back on my phone from yesterday morning (Before the reset) PLEASE HELP me. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
