Bluetooth Volume with JBL "Charge"

Friday 16th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a Bionic with JB 4.1.2 I purchased the bluetooth JBL Charge speaker to use with my phone/music. After pairing with my phone I noticed that all functions work via bluetooth such as PLAY, PAUSE, FF, FR, SKIP, ext....but the volume control from the phone does not control the volume coming from the Charge. Although I did not purchase the Charge at BestBuy, I went there to try to troubleshoot the problem. I paired my phone with the display Charge and I still was not able to control the volume from my phone. The salesperson stated (perhaps incorrectly) that none of their BT speakers are able to do that. I called tech support at JBL to see what they had to say. I was told that some phones will not be able to control the volume via BT for the JBL Charge. I did just receive a reply message to a review that I posted on Amazon which stated that "he" is able to control the volume on his Charge via BT from his Samsung Galaxy S3 running Jelly Bean (4.1.1) Any help here please?

Volume Problem: Glitch or Safety Setting?

Tuesday 10th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
On numerous but not all occasions, when I plug my phone (Droid Maxx) into a car stereo jack to use it as a MP3 player it mutes itself. This is not like a normal mute though, I try to turn the volume up with the side volume rocker, and I go into Settings under Sound - Volumes and it will not allow me to adjust the volume there either. The speaker display on the Volume settings shows to be shadowed out with a slash through the speaker. I have to reboot my phone to gain access to the volume control, then it usually works in the car. On a side note one of my cars has a bluetooth compatible stereo but it tends to fade in and out almost like an edited song when I attempt to play my songs through bluetooth. Not sure if it is the device or the stereo in that instance. Has anyone else had this self muting problem? I appreciate any input.

How Do I Pair My Nexus 7 Tablet with NFC-Enabled Speakers?

Sunday 12th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I bought a nice stand for my 2012 Nexus 7 Tablet (Android 4.4.2) which has built in speakers. There are 3 ways to connect the Tablet to the speakers. 1) A little cord that plugs into the audio jack. 2) Pairing/connecting using Bluetooth. 3) Pairing/connecting using NFC. I just can't pair/connect them using NFC. I hold the back of the Tablet against the NFC logo on the stand and tapped the screen and nothing ever happens. I've never used NFC for anything before, so I'm totally unfamiliar with it. Do I need to open a "Speaker" app or something to tap on? I've tried opening the volume control bar and tapping on that. I know that the speakers work and everything because I connected them via Bluetooth with no problem and I didn't know what I was doing there either. Can someone please help me? It wouldn't be the end of the world if I cold never connect via NFC, because I can use either of the other 2 methods, but I'd like to learn something about this underused NFC feature we have available. Looking forward to your advise.Greg
