Auto-Rotate not working - Page 2

Thursday 05th of July 2012 / androidtablets.net
My A500 is also plagued by thescreen rotation problem with the only solution to turn it off and leave it off for some time. Playing with the screen rotation switch did not help. Today, I found, by sheer luck, that touching the icon for the tv.com app (free in the Play Store) gives an IMMEDIATE fix to the rotation lock! I hope this will help the rest of us who have this problem.Amir K9CHP Sent from my A500 using Android Tablet

Screen auto-rotation problems after multi-window update

Friday 04th of January 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
After rebooting, the auto-rotate will work, but after a few days it'll stop working, even with the toggle turned on. All sensors were fine. Sometimes apps will rotate into landscape mode and stay like that until I turn off auto-rotate. Smart rotation is turned on, but before the update, auto-rotate has always worked even with it on. So I'm inclined to think it's just a software problem. Rebooting will solve the problem, but it'll come back after a few days. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Shake ‘n Rotate: Toggling auto-rotation with just a shake - Android Authority

Monday 16th of April 2012 / androidauthority.com
With how smartphones are becoming increasingly sensitive to even the smallest of things nowadays, it doesn’t take a lot of tilting to get the screen to rotate. For users who don’t want to put in a lot of effort to change their screen to rotate, this is a good thing. But, for others who find it extremely annoying to find their screens rotating to a position they don’t need, just because they’re holding their device off center, disabling auto-rotate is a must.Who wants to check his or her phone while they’re lying down, only to find one’s phone screen moving into another position? For the most part, disabling auto-rotate solves our problem, but since we use our phones for a variety of functions, one orientation just won’t do. Taking pictures, for example, can be tiring when you need to breeze through your settings menu just to enable auto-rotation again. It takes extra time that you could be spending snapping shots of the perfect moment.Thankfully, there’s Shake ‘n Rotate. Developed by Andrea Baccega, Shake ‘n Rotate is a hand

Is my auto rotation working like yours

Friday 28th of January 2011 / androidtablets.net
Home screen and phone application (contacts, dialer) locked in landscape but settings rotates easily from landscape to portrait and back again? This happens with both the original firmware and the singapore rom on my unit so I am worried about a problem with my g-sensor. Have not tried games yet. Thx

181 & ICS - Official Release - Will they fix rotation issues? - Page 2

It could be a bad sensor or as SallyC suggest a 3rd party app that is interfering with that sensor. One way to find out if it is an app is to power off the phone and reboot into safe mode. Safe mode will allow only apps provided at time of manufacture to run...no 3rd party apps will be enabled. If the problem doesn't present itself while in safe mode then you probably have an app that is causing the problem. But, knowing SallyC she has probably already tried the safe mode test.

4.0 ice cream sandwich - Auto rotation, proximity sensor issues in Xperia Arc S after updating to ICS

Friday 15th of March 2013 / android.stackexchange.com
My auto-rotation and sensors was working fine in my Xperia Arc S with Gingerbread, but when I updated it to Ice Cream Sandwich via Sony PC Companion, now the auto-rotation and some sensors are not working. I have also checked it by reflashing the other custom ROM, but same problem exists there. I guess its a Sony's built-in bugs, because I have also checked other Xperia Arc S with ICS, same issues exists there. Any help in this regards will be highly appreciated! Please help me how to fix it, or any other alternate to auto-rotation and how to turn off proximity sensor manually.

Problem with LG G2 [Rotation] - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

/ androidforum.com
This is my first post on this forum but mind that, I got the LG G2 in late October and noticed this problem early on but lived with it and now can't deal with it.Overall, it's a nice phone. I like the display, battery length, and other features but it won't rotate right. It DOES rotate sometimes but not when I want it to. I'll be sitting up and set it down and every once in a while it will rotate but I have to click home and restart that app for it to go back. I have auto-rotation on most of the time but tried without it and still nothing. I watched a video and the rotation worked perfectly, but no matter how I try, it just won't work. Is it a faulty device? Will my insurance cover it? It's unusual since I had a Droid RAZR as my last phone and that worked perfectly, this is odd and quite annoying.Appreciate any help!
