It's not a secret that my Sprint HTC Hero has been having trouble keeping battery charge - by the time I came home from work, the battery level would oftentimes be at 10% or the phone would be simply dead. One would give up and accept this futility but I had 2 reasons to keep trying to figure out why:my co-worker's battery would consistently hold twice as much charge as mine - by the time I was at 50%, he was at 75%a wide range of responses on Internet forums and blog posts suggested some people experienced excellent battery life, while others, like me, did not have as much luckI received feedback from many people that the solution outlined here has helped them double their battery lives not just on their Android phones but also their Pres, Windows Mobile, and others. These people, like me, did not realize the drastic effect of the settings described here on battery

Phone Randomly Shuts Down and Battery Level Gone Crazy

Monday 26th of September 2011 / androidforums.com
After a month of working fine, and roughly a week after upgrading to 2.3.4, my phone suddenly have these problems:- I would frequently find my phone shut down/ turned off whenever I pull it out from my pocket (when turning back on, it will display the usual startup screen with HTC logo)- Battery indicator would jump from (for example) 80% to suddenly 15%, and after reboot, goes back to around 80%- Whenever battery level goes down suddenly, the built-in "Battery Use" graph would not reflect it. I found that it does show the new level after doing a refresh, and it shows on the graph the battery suddenly dropping to the low level at the same point in time.- Sometimes the phone would suddenly shut down while I'm playing games.- I noticed that the problem does not happen if the phone is just sitting on the desk.Is it overheating problem with the phone components or the battery itself or both? I want to know also if it is a problem with the battery itself (which is easy to solve) or the part on the phone that interacts with the battery.I want to know if it is a permanent damage d

Will dead battery, boot phone to Bootloader screen?

Friday 10th of June 2011 / android.net
My husband called me from work last night, on someone elses phone because he said he went to turn on his Nexus S, and it came up with some "unlock bootloader" sreen. He pulled the battery, and tried to re start phone and NOTHING! When he got back to his car, plugged it into the charger and it seemed to turn on, The battery was down to 0. So, can a dead battery cause the phone to boot to that screen? I though it kinda odd, but I did not see it, only from what he told me?

Dead battery with 7hrs NO use at all.

Wednesday 13th of April 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
I ended up getting to work 45 mins late today, because my phone died and alarm didn't go off. For the first time, I left my phone off charge because I had a full battery at 11pm. I have done this before leaving the phone off charge with a full battery and would only see maybe a 8% drop if that. Unfortunately there is no way I can now go back and see what was using up that battery power. It had to be an app that didn't close. I think android needs to be revamped in the way that instead of showing recent apps, show the recent and currently still running apps (like blackberry has). I don't believe that some apps are closing when the phone sleeps or after a period of inactivity. It took 7 hours for this battery to die out with NO USE at all (I was asleep). Yet I could average 14hrs (since last unplugged) on some days using the phone very minimally. So it is definitely obvious here that there was something running in the background. Now could I use the running tab under applications to check this, well yes and no. For one every little thing is on the running list with android, and 2 that

phone very finicky after dead battery

Wednesday 20th of February 2013 / androidforums.com
I have a sprint epic refurb that I got from sprint in october 2012. The phone had been fine before today but after leaving it in my pants pocket overnight (and the battery going to 0%) it has developed some strange peculiarities. 1) If i pull the battery from the phone for 30 seconds and put it back in the phone will immediately boot by itself. (power button is not stuck, operates normally to lock screen on/off)2. If I turn the phone off through menus, there is no way to turn it back on, power button doesn't seem to do anything. Reboot by removing the battery and putting it back in 3) seems to have gotten picky about usb cables and chargers. Cables and charges that worked before no longer work, but they work with other phones. More picky the lower on charge the battery is. after I get it over 25% it seems to be less picky. any idea what is going on? I am stuck with a sprint contact for 8 more months.

Something very wrong with my battery/Phone

Saturday 29th of May 2010 / androidforums.com
My eris has always has pretty alright battery life, what I would expect out of a smartphone, if unplugged at 9AM it usually was running on its last leg around midnight. I've had it for over 5 months now, I've always had it activated on alltel, I installed the 2.1v3 leak before the official OTA was out and just lately it seems like there something very wrong with my battery life... If I unplug my phone at 9AM within the past week and occasionaly check and respond to a text message, my battery had been down to almost 30% by NOON... what?.. I have noticed that if I disable Mobile Network (3g/1x data), the thing lasts all day and some... If I turn mobile network ON, I can't see that I have any network traffic or any apps running in the background that are syncing data at all... I've had google account sync mess up on me before and have to reset my google account because it gets stuck in a syncing loop, but its not doing that, already checked. Very weird.Anyone thing it could be something wrong in my ##PROGRAM#/##778# provisioning menu, maybe something got changed?.. Maybe it could be do
