I switched phones on straight talk and with my new Galaxy I'm not getting much of a signal anywhere that I did with my old phone! No signal at all in most places! They have assured me that I should get a signal at straight talk! Is it something with my phone?

PdaNet works on Straight Talk

Tuesday 11th of December 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have an Lg35g Optimistic Logic. The cheapest Android phone on the market. And I am on straight talk also. I was excited when I downloaded PdaNet today and I am able to tether my laptop!!!! It is faster than the AT&T wifi I have at home that is $40 a month. Its freaking amazing. However I could not find a program that would let me tether my Acer I500 tablet. Because my phone would not allow me to download foxfi. Oh well ya can't have everything.

I need help with a Google Nexus 4 on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card

Saturday 29th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I had Virgin Mobile locked in at $25/month and after moving recently the service wasn't very good in my house. I decided to switch providers and my phone was getting old anyway, so I made the switch to straight talk with an AT&T sim card from ebay for $50. I'm avoiding t-mobile for the same reason - it won't have very good service in this area. I used the APN settings listed on straight talk's website, and the data works, and I can send picture messages, but can't receive them. It's an annoying issue that I can't find a solution for. I've tried a few different APN settings, but none have worked and just stop all data function completely. I've tried talking to straight talk customer service, but it was a complete waste of time. Their solution is basically reset the phone and try the same thing over and over. I hung up after an hour today. My parents actually have galaxy S2s on straight talk with AT&T sims, and I tried copying their APN settings and it still didn't work. Help? Possible solutions:1. Correct APN settings or some other setting that quickly fixes the issue2. Switch

Receiving MMS on Straight Talk

Monday 06th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I've looked around for a solid solution to this problem, but I can't find one that works for me. I have the Moto X on Straight talk. Data, talk, text and even sending MMS works great. I just can't receive picture messages. I've tried the APN Straight Talk suggests along with several on this forum and others. Has anyone with a Moto X found a way to resolve this? Any help would be fantastic. For reference, I've tried: Straight Talktfdata mms3.tracfone.com80310410 I've tried several variations of this as well including APN type: default, supl, mms adding Port:80 Thank you so much for anyone who is willing to try and help! What Phone to buy for LTE that works on Straight Talk?

Saturday 08th of March 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello Everyone, I think you need to buy a sim card to get LTE speeds on Straight Talk. I don't know which phone I should buy? I have an LTE Z796C majesty and I like it so far. A bit short on internal ram is my only complaint so far. I would like to get one that will work on LTE in the 16127 area (Grove City, PA). I don't want to spend any more then 150 -175 or so. What would you suggest I buy? I just bought this one and want LTE speeds but need to know the ins and outs of LTE and what phone to get to do this... Thanks so much!!! Bob

Verizon S3 on Straight Talk Via GSM / Calls coming in as International?! ='(

Monday 19th of May 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
"The international call you are attempting to place is not allowed from this line. Please dial 00 for operator assistance or call 611 for Customer Service." Message 26G3XXX" This is the error message I get when attempting to return calls via my recent call list. The numbers are local, they are in the same town as me. I am located in the United States. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S3 from Verizon on Straight talk via GSM on a micro sim card. The phone works fine, I am able to call people, use data and mms after setting up the apn. But when I receive calls the phone automatically places them in my call list with a + in front of the number like, +6035550555. Even if I save the number in my contacts, the number still comes up as international with the + in front. I have tried saving the number with two number entries, the primary number being without the + and the secondary being the + to hopefully override the listing in the recent call list. I have verified in the call settings --> Other call settings --> Current country - United States of America. So a quick ove

Droid 4 on Straight Talk?

Friday 11th of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
A friend of mine, currently on Virgin Mobile, currently has a dying Kyocera Rise, and wants a better phone. He needs a smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, but there's nothing better than the Rise on Virgin, so he's looking at putting a Droid 4 and putting it on Straight Talk. The phone compatibility checker on Straight Talk's website isn't exactly helpful, even after entering the phone's IMEI, and I can't find any definite information online through various Google searches whether the Droid 4 works on Straight Talk. I know the Droid 4 is an LTE phone and has a SIM slot, but I've heard reports that there's a block on US GSM carriers, ruling out the ability to use Straight Talk's AT&T- or T-Mobile-compatible SIM cards. Has anyone had any experience with putting the Droid 4 on Straight Talk? If the Droid 4 doesn't work Straight Talk, anyone know of any comparable QWERTY smartphones that do work on Straight Talk?
