Mixed feelings about my first Android Tablet

Friday 09th of December 2011 / androidtablets.net
I am now an owner (proud yet to be decided!) of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1Hardware specific the Galaxy Tab is far superior to my 1st gen iPad but then again I quite like Android v3 OS and its pretty nippy to say the least. My biggest gripe is the serious lack of Android apps which are available specific to devices such as the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Lots of my favourite apps on the iPad I use frequently just arent available on the Galaxy Tab including the BBC iPlayer, Dropbox, Blastr etc etc. While they exist in smartphone equivalents (they look awful when installed on my tablet!), Android has some serious catching upto do. Its not just about having hardware which is superior over another product. The key to a successful tablet is mostly down to its software and app availability and quality/user experience that they provide. Oh and I just found AVG anti-virus!! WTF? thats bad when you have to install anti-virus on your tablet!! never had to have done that before!! Also whats with mixing smartphone Apps alongside tablet Apps in the Marketplace? there is no way to filter between these and of

[Bonus Round] Oh My Heroes, The Rockets, And Alien Apocalypse

Monday 21st of October 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Oh My Heroes! The RocketsAlien ApocalypseWelcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a an online battler with the soul of a 2D side-scroller, a stylish silhouetted space shooter, and a rather typical (if flashy) 3D endless runner. Without further ado:Oh My Heroes! What happens when you mix Battleheart aesthetics, hack-and-slash mechanics, and online multiplayer? If you download Oh My Heroes!, you might just find out. This side-scroller throws in a ton of old-school combat and RPG elements with a MOBA framework and no small amount of humor. There's also a single player mode where you can hone your skills.... but unfortunately, you'll need an active internet connection even if you're going solo. --Long, long ago in a realm far, far away, it was all peace and

[Oh My God Becky] The Moto 360 Looks Enormous In This 'Android Wear Design Story' Post You Might Want To Read Maybe

Tuesday 03rd of June 2014 / feedproxy.google.com
So, Google posted this 'An Android Wear Design Story' thing that's probably moderately interesting if you want some insight into app development on Android Wear and the process of designing an experience appropriate for a smartwatch, but the only thing I came out of that post not being able to forget was this. Freaking. Photo. My reaction is best summarized by the timecoded YouTube clip below. The Moto 360 is huge. Like, Tag Heuer's Jumbo Jerk Chronometer Collection huge. No wonder they're promising always-on battery life, because it's the size of a Sizzler side-salad plate. Anyway, the post in question talks about the development of a concept app for walking tours on Android Wear, and if you're interested in what the developers behind it crafted and the experience they had creating said app, it's a good, solid read. Check it out at the link below.Android Developers Blog Tags:i like big clocks and i cannot lie moto 360 moto 360 diameter moto 360 dimensions moto 360 size moto 360 width oh my god becky
