Android 4.2.2 Updates Rolling Out To Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE (GT-N5120) And Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 3G (GT-P3100)

Monday 05th of August 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Samsung seems to be on a bit of an update spree lately, trying to get its devices up to speed on Android 4.2. This time it's the LTE Galaxy Note 8.0 and the somewhat older Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with 3G. Attacking the system update button like an enraged jungle cat won't do any good, folks. These updates are rolling out in stages. The Note 8.0 update is starting in the UK, with expansions to more countries soon. The update clocks in at a whopping 1.3GB, and is being hosted various places online if you want to skip to the head of the line. It can also be loaded through Kies once the rollout reaches you. The 4.2.2 update for the humble 3G Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is starting in France, which later expansions to other countries. This one is only 895.1MB, which is still pretty large for an Android update. You can flash this if you're adventurous, or just wait for the OTA/Kies push. Galaxy Note 8 LTE getting Android 4.2.2 update

Monday 05th of August 2013 / androidauthority.com
It seems Samsung is trying to roll out Android 4.2 to some of its major devices these days. The Galaxy S2 Plus and Galaxy Note 8.0 (Wi-Fi) received the update, and now its LTE counterpart is getting the update. As per the norm, you may not be able to snag the update just yet, as this is a gradual rollout. At the time being, the update is available in the U.K., but more countries will be soon to follow. You can download the update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE (GT-N5120) via Samsung’s Kies desktop software. Just make sure your device’s battery is fully charged, as this is a very large update. While Android 4.2 isn’t a very major update, it’s still an improvement, bringing with it cool things like Photo Sphere and Google Now improvements.Have you gotten the update for the Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE? Let us know how you like the new update in the comments!

Android 4.2.2 Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 WiFi-only Is Being Pushed in the US

Monday 07th of October 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Various uses have reported over the last week that their Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 WiFi-only tablets were getting updated to Android 4.2.2, but so far they were just isolated cases. Well, not any more, as the new firmware update is currently being pushed towards all other Galaxy Note 8.0 units on the US territory via KIES or OTA.Besides changing the Android version to 4.2.2, the software update for Galaxy Note 8.0 will probably bring system stability improvements, user interface enhancements and updates for the Contacts, S Planner, and Email apps. You probably know that the LTE Galaxy Note 8 already got the Android 4.2.2 update, so this brings the WiFi-only customers up to date. The Android 4.2.2 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 weighs around 660 MB, so it would be wise to download it through a WiFi hotspot if you choose the OTA method. In case you didn’t receive the software update notification you can either connect your tablet to KIES or head to Settings > About tablet > Software update and hit the Check for updates button every couple seconds..androidgs-mid { width: 30

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (WiFi) Update to 4.2.2

Thursday 10th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
Got the 4.2.2 update forced upon us a couple days ago (OTA) and I'm seriously bummed. Although almost everything seems to work as it used to (despite complaints from other folks of a variety of standard features being somehow disabled), most of the changes/improvements (to features we actually use) are quite annoying and even unacceptable to us. Overall, I'd give almost anything to get 4.1.2 restored to the wife's wonderful Note 8.0. I'm seriously tempted to drop the big bucks AGAIN for another Note 8.0 still equipped with Android 4.1.2 then deny any OS updates (if that's possible). I'm probably gonna get flamed for these comments but I'm hoping there will be replies to this tirade. We seriously don't like what the "update" has done to the Note 8.0. Had I known what the "update" was going to do, I would not have let it download in the first place. It's the wife's tab but I have to keep it working up to her expectations. Happy wife...happy life!!! I've been told that a "factory reset" would NOT revert the OS back to 4.1.2. Is there any hope to using the &q

KitKat rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in U.S.

/ feedproxy.google.com
Owners of the Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet can now rest a little easier as the Android 4.4 KitKat update is being sent out to that budget-priced device. We got a tip from one of Android Central's readers who did a check on his tablet to find that he was able to download the KitKat software upgrade. A quick scan of our forums confirmed that the Android 4.4 update was also downloaded earlier this week by other owners of the tablet. The update is 712 MB in size so it may take a few minutes to download. However, we are sure that owners of the Galaxy Note 8.0 in the U.S will be happy to receive all of the new features and updates that KitKat will provide. Are you an owner of the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Note 8.0 and if so are you glad that you are able to get the KitKat software update? Thanks to Rob for the tipSource: Android Central forums
