More Nexus 5 rumors: Based on LG G2 with glass back and no back buttons

Friday 16th of August 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
A week ago, it was rumored that Motorola would be making the Nexus 5, but that was quickly washed away with LG as the chosen one. Today we have continued rumors showing LG as making the said device, but with a little more detail. The latest word is that it will be based on the G2 as in the screen size of 5.2-inches and the Snapdragon 800 SoC. Earlier in the week, it was rumored to have the Snapdragon 600. As far as the body, it’s expected that it will resemble the look of the new Nexus 7 and it will also sport a glass back, just like the Nexus 4.What do you guys think? I would be surprised if the Nexus 5 has the Snapdragon 800. Nexus devices traditionally don’t have the most up to date specs in terms of CPU, just take a look at the new new Nexus 7 for reference. I’m not a fan of the glass back, but it does create differentiation from the other devices.source: tinhte.vnvia: PhoneArena» See more articles by Robert Nazarian//

Nexus 5 Cases Appear on Amazon but Most Not Available Until After October 31st

Thursday 17th of October 2013 / androidspin.com
Sick of hearing about the Nexus 5 yet? Of course you are not. And we are not either, which is why we post really anything that has to do with the next Nexus since we do not know when the dang phone is going to be announced. Seems that cases for the Nexus 5 have already begun to show up on Amazon.com, but will not be available until after the 31st.Spigen’s Nexus 5 case, which they teased us about last week, is displayed here, as well as a few others. Guess Amazon knows a little something we do not, or they are just preparing themselves for the launch. If you plan on getting yourself a Nexus 5, check out the selection Amazon has for you. Let us know if you ordered one.Amazon

Hack Nexus 5 to work on the VZW network?

Monday 28th of October 2013 / droidforums.net
I'm a galaxy nexus user currently and unfortunately with Verizon. I'd love to switch carriers but I left ATT years ago because the only two places in the state I don't get good coverage is my home and place of work. I'd love to get the N5 but it looks like Verizon won't carry it. Any techies out there know if it will be possible to root the phone to allow it to work on the VZW network? Any work around? Thoughts?

Is there any chance you might be able to pop a Verizon sim in the Nexus 5 and it would work like the Nexus 7?

Nexus 5 Newbie Question on Wireless Charging

Sunday 10th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hey Folks, I'm still getting my feet wet with the whole world of Android and Nexus 5 etc. So I've been watching a lot of videos here that these guys at AndroidCentral have been doing (you guys should have me on for Noob Feedback Day, I'm tellin ya!) and I've been learning a lot. I have a couple of questions though on wireless charging. Is there a wireless charger made specifically for the Nexus 5?Does it have what some folks call "Smart Charge" where it stops attempting to charge the phone after it is full? I think the guys on AC were using a Samsung charger on some of their phones but I am not sure (is my noob showing?) whether brand needs brand or whether you can be a little promiscuous and get an Orb or a Samsung Charge Pad or whatever. Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope (no, I ain't batting my eyelashes at you).

Nexus 5 does work on MetroPCS!!!

Thursday 26th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
This is probably old news for some of you guys, but I had to write about it because I was still very confused if it did work or not. And I'm sure some of you out there are still confused as well. Some of the older sim cards will not work on the Nexus 5 so I ended up purchasing a new one which cost me $25 and $10 to activate it. 5 minutes later I was up and running enjoy my new Nexus 5. So there you go, no more confusion. It does work and I'm happy as hell with it. Happy Holidays folks.
