Unable to start wifi

Wednesday 31st of March 2010 / droidforums.net
So I went to turn on my wifi today and noticed that the quick settings app took longer than normal to activate it. I went into the full settings menu under Wireless and it said 'unable to start wifi'. Picture:Has anyone else had this problem, and know of a way to fix it? I've tried the obvious(reboot, battery removal, full restore to a time when it worked) to no avail.

New Issue; Unable to initialize wifi

Wednesday 20th of January 2010 / android.net
So, I unboxed my brand new N1 today. Went through the set up steps and chose to set up everything later. I then tried to set up wifi. I clicked the box and it said it was turning wifi on. After the box shows the green check mark, the phone says it "can't search for wireless networks" then cuts wifi off. When I try to add a wireless network manually, it says "can't save wireless network." Then cuts wifi off.And on both, I get an error message: "Sorry! Application settings (in process com.android.settings) is not responding." I choose force close, and it shuts down wifi. I choose wait, and it shuts down wifi.I've tried resetting the phone to factory default both in the normal Android GUI as well as doing the hard reset and still no luck.Any ideas?

Unable to start WiFi - stock phone

Friday 09th of April 2010 / android.net
Hi, I just started getting a problem. My phone is stock and has never been rooted. When I try to turn on my Wifi, it sits for a little while, and then comes back and says "Unable to start WiFi" and it stays off. Now, it could be that there is a problem with my corporate wifi, as even my laptop is having an issue, too, but there are other wifi ports available, and I'm thinking that even if it can't connect to the default choice, it would still start the WiFi and just say it can't connect. In this case, it won't even start the WiFi, it just comes back and the WiFi is turned off. Any thoughts on how to debug/fix this? Is my phone just screwed and I need to get it replaced?

Camera is unable to initialize [after root]

Monday 19th of November 2012 / droidforums.net
A few months ago, I had rooted my phone successfully using "Pete's root" and all was well. I used my Superuser access strictly for having more control over the design of the GUI and changed nothing else with my phone. A few days after the root, my camera stopped working. I would try to open the camera, my phone would freeze for 5-10 seconds, and then I would be returned to my phone's main screen with a message reading, "Camera is unable to initialize."I immediately unrooted my phone to no avail - the problem persists. I researched the issue a bit and some people said clearing the camera's data fixed this problem (temporarily), but I never saw any results from this method after trying it. I also read to try a "soft reset", but this didn't fix the problem. The last solution I read was to try a factory reset which I did, but still no change to fixing my camera.Does anyone have a solid solution for this? Is my only solution to bring the phone to the Verizon store? Will Verizon be able to tell that I had previously rooted my phone? I'm afraid to bring it in,

Camera Error, Camera is unable to initialize.

Wednesday 09th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I would really like to not have to do a hard reset on my 1 month old Droid Ultra, but it may give me no choice. I have been getting this error "Camera Error, Camera is unable to initialize." on the camera function for a couple of days. I have stopped and restarted the service, have done countless soft resets, but I am still getting the error. There isn't a removable battery or that would be my next step. Please tell me there is something I don't know about that can correct this error. I would love not to have to take it to the Verizon store...the wait where I live is a PITA!
