Wifi keeps getting stuck on "authenticating"

Friday 14th of September 2012 / androidforums.com
Pretty much every time I try to connect to my home wifi, it keeps getting stuck on authenticating then it will fail and do it over again and again until it says network disabled, poor connection, even though it has a full 4 bars... I've tried turning it off and back on, I've tried forgetting it and redoing it, I've tried restarting the phone.. The only thing that seems to work is for me to unplug my router and plug it back in while leaving the wifi on my phone on. When the router boots back up, then my phone will connect. I would say it's something wrong with my router, but my other phone has absolutely no problem connecting.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Galaxy S3 will not connect to any WiFi network

Wednesday 23rd of January 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, new poster so please be gentle! Galaxy S3 went into EE for a warranty repair (screen just went blank). Came back Monday all fine and dandy, had a software update whilst it was away and I set everything up. WiFi working fine on my home WiFi connection (BT Infinity Hub). Switched WiFi off last night before I went to bed and today it won't connect to anything - work/home/free McDonalds WiFi, absolutely nothing. Did a factory reset on the Galaxy, reset my Hub..nada. Laptop, husband's Sony Experia and PC all connected fine. I have no idea what happened to it overnight! It just says 'authenticating' and then 'network disabled, poor connection' despite having all 4 bars and a 'very strong' signal. This happens with every connection I try to make. I've done the *#0011# trick, done a factory reset, battery out etc. This is starting to wind me up. Any ideas? It's running Android 4.1.2. I really don't want to have to take it back and be stuck with their joke of a loan phone for a fortnight again!

Wireless Problem

Wednesday 12th of December 2012 / androidtablets.net
Have Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 & wireless thru ATT Uverse. From purchase in May have had no problems with secured wireless at home or unsecured out. Today at home I get a message that "Network disabled -- Poor connection." Checking shows "signal strength is very strong" & I am posting this on my laptop using the same network. I tried:Disabling & re-enabling the networkTurning off the tablet & restartingTurning off WI-FI & restarting & then re-entering passwordObviously no joy! Have not added new apps in several weeks & aside from reading a book this a.m. have not used the tablet except to try to get back online. Appreciate any ideas.

Galaxy S3 wifi connection problems

Monday 20th of August 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi,I have a SGS3, it has been working fine with home wifi for several weeks but all of a sudden it won't connect to my BT home hub. When I try to connect it says "obtaining IP address ..." then briefly says "connected, stored" but immediately returns to "obtaining IP address ..." I then get an Attention message saying "network disabled, poor connection".I know I have a healthy wifi router as I have several iPhones happily connected to it, as was this SGS3 for weeks, until it suddenly started this behaviour. The only thing that changed was I signed up for BTFon which is a free wifi subscription in the UK where your router is firmware upgraded to become a 'hotpsot' for other users. I am wondering if this change somehow affected the SGS3 although it doesn't appear to bother the iPhone users (much to their smug satisfaction).I have now deactivated BTFon but I am still having the same problems. I have rebooted everything several times - both router and SGS3. I have not updated any s/w on the SGS3 lately. I am running OS4.0.4.As I live in a poor GPRS

Network Disabled, Poor Connection problem / obtaining IP address problem

Sunday 17th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello, my Galaxy Note 2 for the past week or so refuses to connect to any router, tried to put in the static IP and forget the network, restart the network and reboot my phone but nothing seems to be working, also tried to dial *#0011# and change the power save to off but that doesn't work either, any other tips other than having to take it to samsung? Thanks

Network disabled. Poor connection.

Tuesday 24th of July 2012 / androidforums.com
Hello, I'm receiving this error "Network Disabled, poor connection" when trying to connect to my Belkin router. The signal shows strong, but doesn't connect. I had some DNS issues with my router about a week ago, but the router fixed itself after I left it unplugged for a day. As of right now, my computer is back on the router and I have internet. Any ideas? I have a Galaxy S3, Android 4.0.4 (ICS).I've tried resetting the router, resetting the phone, changing the channel on the wireless router, messed around with the security settings, and nothing. I'm obviously not a PC guru, but I can usually hold my own. Thanks for the help!

Tuesday 18th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi all,Really hoping someone might be able to help me out here! I've had my the S3 for a few months now and have always been able to connect to my home wifi without any problems. Last night, it disconnected itself and now will not connect again It does the "Authenticating...", then "obtaining IP address..." but then I get the attention message:Network disabled. Poor connection We have 2 laptops in the house on the same wifi connection and they are both connected fine. Phone states:Signal Strength: Very StrongLink speed: 54MbpsSecurity: WPA PSK The router is Netgear No settings have been changed in respect of either the router or the phone etc What I have tried:1. Wi-Fi turn off/on2. Phone turn off/on3. Forget the connection, then re-add4. Router channel is set to 11 but I changed it and changed back Does anyone have any ideas please? I've trawled the internet and either the solutions haven't helped me or people haven't reported how they solved the issue Many thanks, Charlie
