How to do a complete backup of Android

Wednesday 12th of September 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
I've recently switched from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Can anyone point me to software that does a complete backup of phone to my PC similar to what iTunes does for the iPhone? Note: I would prefer not to root the brand-new phone since I understand that voids the warranty. Also, a backup to SD card is not possible since the phone does not include one. ThanksPete

New build of Sense 5.1 surfaces for HTC Butterfly smartphone, tries to give a little taste of Android 4.2.2 in the process

Wednesday 08th of May 2013 / talkandroid.com
//Sure HTC has been kicking some keister with some of its recently released flagships but well— they tend to feature not-so-current Jelly Bean builds loaded up, despite the sleek and appealing Sense 5.0 running the show. Fortunately it appears that HTC is working behind the scenes to change that notion. A leaked video recently surfaced which showcases the latest iteration of HTC’s unique skin— Sense 5.1 for the HTC Butterfly smartphone. Among the interesting things among the new build is a slightly revamped appearance and an attractive and familiar notification shade— giving the clear sign that Sense 5.1 will feature Android 4.2.2. Unfortunately there is no other aspect of this leaked build to see for now, so there’s no word on if there will be items like a new lock screen or updated icons, etc. Here’s hoping we see more of this intriguing new update (and hopefully a port or two on American devices). You can find the video for yourself at the source links below. .source: RootzWiki | XDA» See more articles by Roy Alugbue//

Need to do a complete factory reset

Monday 20th of February 2012 / droidforums.net
Hi,I've been having trouble with my razr lately and want to do a complete factory reset (all bloatware and system settings added back). How do i go about doing this? I've been having problems with text message notifications and the simple factory reset has not fixed it. All in all, I need to get my phone to what its like exactly when it came out of the box.

Is there a way to do a complete format of the SD card?

Wednesday 19th of May 2010 / droidforums.net
Excuse for being a noob, but I tried a few things out and it didnt work. What I want to do is completely format the SD card so that its exactly like how I bought it.I tried doing a soft reset with not luck (Setting->Privacy->Factory data reset). I also tried to do a hard reset with the SD card still in. Even after all this there is still old app data as well as my music and photos. I want to do a complete format so all of it is gone.Is there a way to do this without manually deleting the stuff I don't want?

Need to do a complete reinstall of android 4.3

Friday 09th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, im having issues with battery life and bluetooth playback, and i want to reinstall android on my nexus 4 to see if i fix it that way, and i got some questions 1- how do i know if my bootloader is unlocked?2- where do i find the drivers for the nexus 4?3- this image will work to reinstall android to my nexus 4? 4- i try to search for a guide to reinstall android on a nexus 4 but i just got guides to update to android 4.3, not a complete reinstall. btw if you are wondering what my issues are, the battery gets drained like 10% of my battery for every 20 minutes of music played thru bluetooth, it appears that theres a bug in the media server process, ive already tried to contact the guy that is fixing this issues with no luck. thanks for your help

U.S. has to wait a little longer for Android 4.3 on the HTC One, exec says

Friday 27th of September 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Updates for carrier-branded phones not expected by the end of September as hopedThis probably shouldn't surprise anyone, but if you've got a carrier-branded version of the HTC One here in the good ol' U.S. of A., you can quit mashing that "Check for updates" button. While the unbranded (and European) versions of the M7have been or are in the midst of being updated, as is the developer edition, the others look to miss HTC's self-imposed Sept. 30 deadline, according to HTC Exec Jason MacKenzie. The word about a month and a half ago was that they were "working hard" to get Android 4.3 and an updated Sense released to everyone by the end of September.Lots of questions re 4.3 release for One. We r wrking hard (needs cert) to release 4.3 across all US, Canada skus by end Sept. DNA as well.— Jason Mackenzie (@JasonMacHTC) August 19, 2013Now, MacKenzie says, we'll have to wait a little longer.3 days left on 4.3 deadline for US/Canada HTC One. Unlocked out! Carrier skus coming, but will slightly miss 9/30. Will keep u updated...— Jason Macke

Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will not complete install of Android 4.3

Saturday 28th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi folks,I know there is a area for this already but wanted people to see it as a separate thread for a while and then mods please incorporate into the appropriate other thread??Anyways, the issue I was having was that the 4.3 update would not load completely and would just revert back to the 4.1.2 version. After 2 phone support sessions I went to the SPRINT corporate store nearest me. The tech's were able to get the 4.3 update pushed through. The answer to the problem? Set your skin to the default TOUCHWIZ skin and it went through no problem. I am using GO Launcher Prime and that was what was holding me up.
