Stuck in Landscape Mode - Desk Cradle Took Over Phone

Monday 27th of June 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
Since last night, my phone is launching in landscape mode (skipping right past the unlock screen, too) and will not rotate to vertical mode no matter what I do. It seems as if the Desk Cradle - which I never use - has taken over my phone, and even when I shut it down, the screen stays stuck in landscape mode. Really don't want to do a hard reset, especially if it won't resolve the problem, so would love some guidance here on possible causes and solutions. Thanks in advance for your help!

magnets in the droid a855?

Wednesday 20th of October 2010 / droidforums.net
Hi all, in my last post I stated that my phone was permanently stuck in landscape after I replaced the phones touch screen digitizer. Since then I have replaced and tried everything to fix the issue and I was reading up about phones being stuck in media mode as if in the dock, even though my phone was not in the media screen, from the forum I took advice and tried placing a magnet on the back of my phone. In the middle of my phone I placed the magnet and immediately after being prompted about being in dock mode the phone went back to normal as if nothing ever happened...but as soon as I take the magnet off it goes back to landscape. What does this mean? Does anyone know anything about magnets in the droid? Do they die? Can i replace them? Is there any solution? Thanks for reading.

Internet Browser stuck in landscape mode

Monday 12th of March 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi all.My Galaxy S2 browser is stuck in landscape mode. No other apps or home screens are behaving like this. They move backwards and forwards from landscape to portrait no problem. When I peel back the "home screen" the browser quickly flicks to landscape no matter how the phone is held and stays in landscape. I am assuming I have locked the browser in landscape mode.Anyone know how to unlock. Thanks in advance.Steve

Can't take video

Monday 18th of April 2011 / androidforums.com
I used to be able to take video but now, when I switch to video mode and press the record button, nothing happens (except for the 00:00 counter disappearing, instead of counting). I can't open the camera menu and when I go back to "Home" and go back into the camera, it is stuck in landscape mode, shows the notification bar briefly, and shows me just a dimly lit black screen. From this point, the only way I can get out of this screen is to long press the home button and open a recently used app and THEN press the home button again to get to where I want to go. To get back to camera mode, I have to restart the phone. I have almost 5G of free space on my SD card but just 45MB of internal storage available. Even at the lowest resolution setting, I'm unable to take video. I'm not sure if memory is an issue. Thanks for any advice!

Can someone help - Glitch with my Gallery app (can't do full screen photos)

Saturday 06th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
For some reason recently, when I try to view my photos I've taken in the gallery, the picture won't do full screen and there is the top and bottom bar covering up a portion of it. Typically when you just tap the centre of the picture, the bars will disappear and you can see the picture completely. Now, no matter what I tap or press the two bars are just stuck there. I've attached some pictures to let you guys know what I'm talking about. One is in portrait mode, the other is in landscape mode. Also, this problem just happened and I had this phone for about 2 months already. I tried resetting my phone multiple times and the same problem persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I take a lot of photos with my phone so this glitch is really frustrating. I really don't want to do a factory reset to solve this problem if I don't need to. Any help or suggestions would be great!

Another "my phone won't charge" thread plus other issues.

Thursday 08th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Sprint HTC one, stock, unrooted. Yesterday I noticed that my phone was stuck in landscape view in every app that I used (it was only on portrait when looking at my home screens). Even when I would press phone and access the dialer and when entering the settings menu it would show as landscape. I also noticed that it wouldn't charge. After a factory reset I had the same problems, and now some apps wouldn't update due to "invalid package". I turned off my wifi and tried installing updates on 3G and some of the apps would update (air droid and several google apps like hangouts still wouldn't update). I tried to recalibrate the g sensor but in landscape mode it was just a big white box. I tried another factory reset and the charging problem was fixed for a few hours, but then reverted back to not charging. I then tried a soft reset and the landscape problem disappeared but the charging issue is still there. My screen now auto rotates and the g sensor calibration functions normally. I just noticed that I can charge the phone if I perform a soft reset, however i can't let the pho
