A droid with a mind of its own...help?

Wednesday 24th of March 2010 / talkandroid.com
My droid eris has a mind of its own. I think I notice it mostly when it is plugged into the charger, and shortly after that too. If I unock the screen it slides to the left to my last home screen and its really hard to get it back. I have to fight with it! If i try to text it goes back on my typing. I end up typing words likte hsi. (like this) It scrolls and highlights things on its own and the clicking sound is constant. Is this happening to anyone else???

Droid Acting "Possessed"

Tuesday 06th of July 2010 / droidforums.net
Help! My Moto Droid is only a few months old and today it started acting like it has a mind of its own. When it powers up, it immediately starts "clicking" on apps and enters random info, dials numbers, etc. It's as if someone is randomly selecting apps and touching anything and everything. This, obviously, makes it unusable. Any suggestions?

my phone has a mind of its own? i think?

Wednesday 02nd of February 2011 / androidforums.com
I'm having a really bizarre problem with my Droid Pro. Whenever I'm in the middle of a phone call, the phone suddenly starts doing things on its own: opening random apps, opening random menus, disconnecting the call, or putting me on mute and then refusing to be unmuted no matter how many times I press the unmute button. The most common (and most annoying) thing that it does, though, is interrupting the call that I'm on to place another call to a random person from my contacts list. This usually happens in combination with the mute thing, so now I'm having conversations with two people, neither of whom can hear me.Obviously this is making my phone completely unusable as a phone. It works great for apps and texting and all that; it only ever does this during calls. At first I just figured I was hitting the screen with my face or something, but this has only started happening in the last week or so and I've had the phone for months. Also, I don't think that would explain a lot of the things that it does. Is this a really easy fix that I'm going to feel stupid for not figuring out? Or d

I usually have to restart the phone. SOmetimes I have to restart it a couple of times. It can go for weeks and nothing will happen, then it will happed a couple times a day.Crazy.Has anyone seen this behavior?Monty

Please help! New Droid has a mind of its own!

Monday 21st of June 2010 / droidforums.net
I just got my droid a week ago. Its not the incredible its the model before that (I'm sorry I am not tech savy whatsoever). My phone will freeze up and if I try to bring down the menu thing it will freak out and scroll up and down really fast on its own. When I was talking on it today it was pressing buttons on its own (I wascalling my power company and trying to enter my account number and it just started pressing random buttons). I have tried removing the battery. I have been to the verizon store twice and we removed all of the apps I downloaded but nothing is helping. It seems to me that someone has hacked into my phone and is messing with it. Please help me. ThanksAnd to the people that said I need an adjustment period with my phone- even though I am not tech savvy I know for a fact that this is not normal. (I'm not that stupid lol). We actually have two droids and the other one works perfectly fine. Its not normal to have an incoming call and not be able to answer it because the buttons won't work. And its not normal for your screen to just start flipping out and bringing up the

My droid has a mind of its own!!!!

Thursday 22nd of April 2010 / droidforums.net
I always have my phone on vibrate (no sound for ALL notifications: calls, texts, emails, etc.) It's literally always on vibrate. It's almost like every 2-3 days my vibration settings go off and I have sound notifications. It seems like every time I'm at work in the office when my vibrate settings decide to stop working and someone texts me and i hear DROIDDDDD. If you can't imagine, it's pretty embarassing. PLEASE help me. Why do my settings turn off on their own?

About an hour ago I went to pick up my phone to send a text and for the love of God, I could not navigate to the messaging app. My Droid would just go into different apps by itself without me clicking into them. One time it opened up the app store and clicked into in app and almost bought it!Ive tried taking out the battery and sd card and rebooting it. But its not helping anything. Now my phone is rooted to BB v1 so should I ty going back to stock? OR what should I do?Thanks

Possessed Droid

Wednesday 07th of March 2012 / droidforums.net
I am starting to think that my Droid is possessed. First it would freeze on text messaging. Then it would freeze on random screens, forcing me to remove the battery to restart. I have cleared the cache, removed all the short cuts, etc. as indicated on different posts. I have done all the steps that I could find in different posts. The phone has a mind of its own and will start to go through different screens, randomly pick applications, and start typing on its own. It even just did it as I was typing this message on a desk top computer. It turned on text messaging and started typing. The other day it turned on maps and somehow reset my position to Minnesota. I am in Nevada and was no where near Minnesota. Even the weather app thought I was in Minnesota. The phone freaks out when I try to use it, freezing up or going to different apps than what I select, and when I don't use it, it almost looks like there is a ghost using it and typing on it. This is driving me crazy! I used to love the phone, but now I want to throw it out the window.
