Droid 1 - Phone storage space is getting low.

Thursday 17th of March 2011 / droidforums.net
My Droid One has a message "Low on space" and "Phone storage space is getting low." Internal phone storage available space is 25.07mb. The total space is 14.93gb and available space is 10.09gb. Shortly after the new software update took place, I had a lot of apps to start upgrading. Then the message happened. How do I move apps from the phone storage to the removable card? I have the "App 2 SD free" on my phone, but it does not seem to be working. How do I free up space on my phone storage? Thanks in advance. WolfpackRon.

Low on space - Phone storage space is getting low.

I've Googled this problem for months and ravaged these forums for an answer but found nothing but band-aids. "Clear your cache! "Gmail is the offender!" Uninstall programs!" I have over 19 MB of internal storage space and 1.4 GB on my SD card. I'm not taking that for an answer. How do I fix this problem? I clear my cache (again, looking at the plentiful available space, shouldn't have to do) and it sometimes fixes the problem; sometimes it doesn't. FB syncs with my phone and consistently takes 1.1+ MB, Dialer Storage is constantly growing since I text all the time, and GMail's Cache takes up only a few hundred KB of space.

Phone storage space is getting low?

Tuesday 17th of January 2012 / androidforums.com
Phone storage space is getting low. Just got the phone recently have have added some apps. Should I move most of the apps to the SD card (2GB) which I plan to change to 8GB? The phone is not activated yet so there are no text messages hanging around. Also ... an aside question ... I placed the app Speaktoit Assistant on the phone and started it yesterday. Today, I do not see it under apps on the phone or on the SD card. What gives?

Low on Space (Phone Memory, NOT application data storage)

Friday 18th of November 2011 / androidforums.com
I am doubtful anybody will have a solution, but here is the problem I am having. I used to occasionally get the "low space" error and I would move an app to the SD, or clear a cache, or uninstall an app I never used, and it would resolve itself. After getting the Gingerbread update on Monday and another software update on Tuesday, I started getting the error again, and was able to make it go away with the same actions listed above.Today, I am getting the error: "Phone storage is is getting low." I don't think this is talking about the "application data storage," because in the settings menu I see that I still have 46MB free out of the total 149MB available. The first couple of times I got the error, I would tap on the notification and it took me to a list of apps and it would show something like "250MB used, 498 free." That didn't seem low to me. Today, in the settings under phone memory it says total space 748MB, available space 0.00MB. When I tap on the low space notification, it is a little different, saying 741MB used, 7.4MB free. Those numb

Notification: "Low on space Phone storage space is getting low"

Friday 06th of April 2012 / androidforums.com
I've had my a10 for a while now probably just over a year. I haven't had too many problems with it so far only just the occasional lag and force close (it runs 2.1 froyo by the way) however just a few days ago it ran into some major problems.it happened when my phone told me there were updates for some of my apps so of course i installed them however it got to the stage where they were not progressing in their downloads at all and whenever i tried to do anything most apps would crash and eventually the entire system repeatedly crashed.later i managed to get it working again however a notification appeared tell me it was low on space. I deleted many of my apps but it is still there and now it wont let me use the messaging app either (i can still receive and make calls).from reading some other threads i think i have discovered that it may be a 'tombstone' issue and following some advice to others i can see that there are some core dumps there (viewed using connectbot while rooted) however im not sure what to do with them or how to get rid of themi also already have ASTRO on my phone.an

Notification: "Low on space Phone storage space is getting low"

Had my Samsung Moment for about a month. LOVE IT. Few issues (same as everyone else has noticed), but nothing terrible. Until:Randomly today TWO Notifications popped up that said "Low on space Phone storage space is getting low." One was what seemed to be from the "hardware" and the other was from the "Work Mail" app (which I don't use, haven't used, haven't even opened). When I click it, it takes me to the Manager screen. So, I began uninstalling some apps I don't really use (I didn't have that many anyway...a couple of games [Solitaire, etc], Facebook, Notes). It started running really slowly and random Force Close messages would appear for things like android.process, messaging--things that have never Force Closed before.I turned it off (pressed and held the red button), waited a few seconds, then turned it back on again. Immediately after the "Sprint" logo lights show finished, I got another Force Close message. When the Home Screen showed up, I had the two notifications again "Low on space". When I cleared the notifications, only

Low on space: Phone storage space is getting low...????

Thursday 30th of December 2010 / androidforums.com
Hello to all of the HTC Evo and Android OS gurus. I am in dire need of some help.My HTC Evo (non-rooted, stock but with ADW Launcher and Go Launcher) has a notice in my status bar that states, "Low on space: phone storage space is getting low."I've deleted all browser history and frequently visited pages; also deleted the data for the browser which took away my Sprint news homepage. After doing that the notice is still there.Deleted a bunch of applications (which to me weren't doing anything to phone). Moved whichever apps that I could to the micro SD as well. Still getting the message. Even tried just plain old shutting off the phone and pulling the battery for 10 minutes. Now when I click on the notice it takes me straight into "Manage Applications." The first thing at the top of my list is Contacts Storage. Here is what is states:Total 192MBApplication 0.00BData 192MBOptions available are "Force stop," or "Clear data."Now here is the funny part. SD card-Total space: 7.40GB; Available space: 6.70GB.Internal phone storage-Available space: 42.04

The problem all of you are seeing is the same issue that some other phones have (mainly HTC). The only way to actually SOLVE the problem is to root the phone and increase the size of the partition where your apps actually store data. That partition is not something you can see unless you are rooted.Basically, there is NO correlation between the amount of storage that you can SEE (internal, SD card, app storage) is available and the error. Every app you use stores data to a specific partition on your phone. This partition may only be limited to about 150MB (varies phone to phone and can only be determined with root access). For example, let's say you have a phone with 8GB of internal storage, a 32GB sd card, and 768MB for app storage. You see that you have 2GB free on your internal, 16GB free in your sd card, and 100MB free in your app storage. There is 60 apps on your phone using that app storage space, but in this scenario you actually have only ever used 10 of them. In that situation, those 10 apps are only going to be storing a small amount of data (login credentials, cached browse

"Low on space-Phone storage space is getting low" AND an email question

Tuesday 10th of August 2010 / droidforums.net
This is what I am seeing on my phone. It didn't come up until I downloaded several games. I have 8 games total and that's it. It just doesn't seem like it should take up that much space. Being the newbie that I am to the phone, I really don't know what to do to manage my apps. Any words of wisdom on what to do? And the email question... If I delete the emails on my phone before looking at them on my laptop, it also deletes them from the server. So when I do get on the laptop, those emails aren't there. I have since learned to not delete what I need on my laptop. But it's a bit aggravating to try and remember what to delete and not delete. There's has to be a setting somewhere on the phone or my laptop (I used MS Outlook) to keep this from happening. I know with my BB, it didn't matter if I deleted off the phone. It still was on my laptop later. Thanks for the help.
