Blink Led Notification Updates, Adds Custom Color Selection and More

Saturday 15th of January 2011 / androidspin.com
Good news for those of you who run with stock ROMS, app developer Download Android.info has updated their Blink led notification app, adding a rainbow of color to your vanilla Android world. Many phones, like the Nexus One, contain a full color led but rely on white for most notifications. Boring, right? Blink, if you aren’t familiar, lets you make use of your phone’s led full color capabilities to enable multi-color notifications.Adding even more multi to your notifications, Blink now allows for custom color selections and color naming. The color wheel is a great touch, but the colors themselves are sometimes hit or miss. On my Nexus One, the primary colors of blue, red and yellow seemed to work the best, all of the purples look more like hot pink. There are also some bugs to be worked out with Blink working properly on some devices; but if you’re looking to mix things up, it’s worth a try. Below you’ll find the full changelog as well as links to download the app if you want to try it on your phone.Product Features:LED Color Test Function to Check Device LED Support S

Help With Yahoo Mail LED Notification

Tuesday 28th of February 2012 / androidforums.com
Hello. I just got my X2 (coming from the Droid X), and am having a problem with getting Yahoo email notifications. I have the Yahoo Mail App installed, as I did on my X. When I get a new email, I get the vibrate and sound notification, but do not get the blinking purple LED like I got on my X. I get no LED notification at all. I have all the notifications checked in the Yahoo Mail app. Is there a setting somewhere else that I need to change to get the Purple LED notification? I really miss it! Thanks.

No LED Notification with Exchange mail app since the JB update

Wednesday 13th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Since I updated to JB I'm not getting any LED notification with the default exchange app. Works fine with sms and gmail. I checked the notification settings and I can't find any setting to specifically turn the led on or off within the email app or when I go to the account set up, only options are for changing the ring tone or turning vibe off and on. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? Thanks!

How to modify LED notification light? a la "Missed Call" app

Saturday 23rd of October 2010 / droidforums.net
Hey all! I am looking for an app or mod of some kind that will allow me to customize the LED notification light on my Droid when I receive a new email (via stock email client) as well as for missed calls. I am looking to keep the LED light solid - not blink, and customize the color as well.A setting in my SMS Pop Up app allows me to do this for unread text messages. I formerly used an app called "Missed Call" which allowed me to do the same for missed calls, but it no longer works with Froyo.I have not yet found ANYTHING that allows me to do this and I can't believe it! I know it is possible since I am able to do it for texts through SMS Pop Up! Any suggestions?? I am rooted running Lithium Mod.

LED notification lights for Note? Vibration options?

Tuesday 21st of February 2012 / androidforums.com
I bought a Galaxy Note this weekend and LOVE it so far (I had an EVO, which I also enjoyed)! But a few questions: 1) on Note, do they have LED notification lights that blink for emails & texts, and if so how do you set it up??2) On EVO, I had the great "Smart Vibrator" app which allowed you to customize vibration patterns for ring/text...it worked perfectly on EVO, but the app doesn't seem to work at all on Note (and the current vibrate setting on Note is pathetic and hardly noticable, even when it sits on my desk). Any thoughts on how to get Smart Vibrator to work, and/or suggestions for other notification apps would be so helpful!! Thanks, all!

Can any developer make an LED app for the Captivate ?

Monday 02nd of August 2010 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I know there is no LED notification indicator on the Captive, and I know about the LED notification app that makes a little square light up on the screen. But I was thinking, wouldnt it be nice to have one of the four touch sensitive buttons at the bottom light up as a notification indicator ? Like the Home button ? This would be nice for other phones as well.

LED Notification

Thursday 08th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I was a loyal BlackBerry user/fan for years. That is until I had to give in and get a device worthy of 21st Century. I tried to hang on as long as I could but BB just fell too far behind in the smartphone race and I finally jumped ship. The Z10 and Q10 might have been game changers for BB in 2010 or 2011 but not 2013. And believe it or not I am actually becoming an all-touch keyboard fan...who would have ever thought a former die-hard BB fan would ever admit that? OK enough of my BB rant. One of the things I liked the most about BB's was the LED notifications. Yes, the One has them but they turn off after like 5-mins which was a mistake on HTC's part IMO. Anyway without rooting (I'm just not ready to take that leap yet but I'm getting close ) is there an app out there that will allow the LED notification on the One to go off indefinitely? When I have a missed call, email or SMS I want the LED to blink until I shut it off. Is there anything out there that will do this?

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (US 16gb model): No LED Notification for incoming Gmail, etc!!

Thursday 07th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I noticed that my brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet does not have LED notification like all my other devices! There are occasional blue LED blinks, but they are not reliable and there is no setting for, say, as an example, Gmail. I went into the Gmail General Settings, nothing regarding LED notification. I went further into each individual gmail account's settings within Gmail, no LED notification settings. I understand that there are folks who advocate the use of an app for controlling LED notifications, but I'd rather first attempt to see what the native available capabilities are for the Galaxy Note 8.0, as it already has a layer of the Samsung software on TOP of the vanilla Android. My feeling is that less to layer on = less to go wrong/haywire. May I ask the good folks here for any advice on LED notifications? Thanks in advance.
