What Is "kworker" and Why Is It Draining My Battery?

Wednesday 04th of April 2012 / androidforums.com
So, I've had my phone giving me problems for the last week. Most of it is explained here: http://androidforums.com/android-lounge/523464-sudden-mega-battery-drain-due-ghost-dial-prl-update.htmlNow, my phone had ghost dialed *22899 last Tuesday, and since then, the battery sucked. No one at Verizon or Best Buy new about this ghost dialing.I factory reset my phone. All was fine. I installed JuiceDefender Ultimate, and I was fine. The next day, same thing, I was fine. Two days after the reset, my phone ghost dialed *22899, and I was back to where I was before. Then, I was told to uninstall JuiceDefender Ultimate and see what happens. So, first, I just disabled it. Yesterday morning - it called *22899 again. Then, I actually uninstalled it yesterday. This morning - it called *22899 again, and stopped after 14 seconds, just like most of the other times. So, obviously, it isn't JuiceDefender Ultimate that is the problem. So, in my BetterBatteryStats - it shows this thing, "kworker" listed multiple times, and the red line is very long. So, what is this that is killing my battery? Where d

kworker?

Thursday 22nd of December 2011 / androidforums.com
Something I have noticed in BetterBatteryStats, under Process, is kworker/u:0/1/2 and 3 popping up.I've done a Google on it, which frankly didn't yield much info other than that it is related to the kernel.I suppose the questions that I would like to ask are:-1. What are the kworker processes (Dummies guide please).2. Given that they should be there, are they over using battery or CPU?3. Judging from the screenie, is this an acceptable level for them or do I need to take any actions (if possible)?

I think I turned on a program I want to turn off. When I touch

Sunday 22nd of July 2012 / justanswer.com
I think I turned on a program I want to turn off. When I touch my screen now, there is a horizonal and vertical line showing where I'm touching the screen; if I move my finger around, it leaves a line on the screen (as if I'm drawing) and the system information for the tablet is now visible in the top right corner: samples are system_server com.android.systemul kworker/0.0How do I get back to what it used to look like before? Thanks.Optional Information: Computer OS: OtherBrowser: ChromeAlready Tried: Looked in the display settings and didn't see anything obvious.

performance - galaxy s2 cellphone problem; possible virus

Friday 01st of February 2013 / android.stackexchange.com
I read that it is used on the computer. It has been coming up on my Android Galaxy 2 s. It is on at least 3 times at once and up to 7 or 8 at once. They are called kworker/0:1 through kworker/0:4 and/or kworker/u:1 through kworker/u:4 Occasionally, it comes up as using about 80 % of the CPU. My phone also regularly crashes as of recently. Could kworker be the problem? The virus I have also is kind of trojan-based and has popups when I restart my phone sometimes. Also, when my phone is asleep, and i turn it back on, it says kworker is using 100% of my CPU data.

Removing information from screen

Thursday 20th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
Hola,I haven a Sony Ericsson Xperia S LT26i. Since yesterday I see tasks in the top right part of my screen. Tasks like system_server, surfaceflinger, kworker/u:4 and some numbers at the top of that; 3.49/6.82/17.22. The entire list changes every few seconds or so. Can anybody tell me how to remove this? The screenshot is in the message below. Thanks in advance
