DNS issue after Kit-Kat upgrade--solved!

Sunday 08th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello. I searched extensively among the Kit Kat issues threads and did not find one that was exactly like mine, so I'm posting the symptoms I was experiencing and the way I eliminated them. I had the Nexus 7 2013 for approximately a month before installing the OTA Kit Kat upgrade. I experienced none of the following issues when I was running stock Jelly Bean. Issues experienced after the OTA Kit Kat (4.4) upgrade: intermittent inability to connect to Google Playintermittent inability to connect to YouTubeintermittent failure of Feedly to load new posts, or posts loaded without imagesintermittent inability to load web pages (no connection or DNS error listed)intermittently would load only text of a web page, not imagesintermittently would load unformatted text of a web page The above web page issues were mainly experienced with Chrome, but I tried Dolphin and FireFox with similar results. The point its, *sometimes* all would work well. No problems. Then the above issues would occur for a while (a few hours) then disappear again. I cleared the cache and did a factory reset, but neither

Here we is. Kit Kat 4.4.2 rom STABLE!!!

Saturday 04th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
found this on xda. ---- neither i nor the developer take any responsibility for any problems that might occur. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way. This is the fourth kit kat rom that I have tried..Cm, D Hacker, Aokp.. all buggy.. This build appears to be quite stable.. camera works quite well.. bluetooth, i could not tell ya.. never use it.. but everything else seems to be rock solid, and quite fluid.. Unfortunately you loose root afterwards, but a bit of coding will get you back.. nice to be on the the same build as the N5 with superior battery life...BTW the build is 4.4.2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our maxx will be receiving kit kat... just about 3 months from now from soviet red.. but in the mean time hope it works... btw you need to be on the most recent build of twrp.

Is Kit Kat on New Phones?

Wednesday 30th of April 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Just ordered a LG G2 from Best Buy. Does anyone know if this will come with Kit Kat? I've been reading this thread, and it seems like there are a lot of problems with it. If it doesn't come with Kit Kat will it automatically update?

Verizon Kit Kat rolling out, not much complaining...

Friday 16th of May 2014 / androidforums.com
I've noticed that Verizon is finally rolling out Kit Kat in a lot of places but I'm not seeing much in the way of comments either way, with the exception of some early discussions on battery life and a voice mail issue.I am truly hopeful that this means Kit Kat is relatively seamless and transparent and there are not much in the way of problems? Those that have installed, please update those of us waiting.

SD card Kit Kat and moving files

Thursday 29th of May 2014 / droidforums.net
I have read a little about Kit Kat and SD cards. My problems is I have a music app that downloads songs and puts them into its own folder. I than can use ES file explorer or My files and move the music to my SD card folder labeled music. I can see the file with either file program on my sd card but when I open a music player it does not show up. All my previous music before Kit Kat is on my SD card and will play. I have used Samsung native music app and power amp. Power amp used to see my old music but as for today it says folder is missing SD ext. My understanding was once I moved it into my SD card the music player that came with my S4 could see the file. Stock S4 VerizonAny help would be great. I just want to keep my music and photos and video on SD card. I don't care if I have to use stock players to make it work. Thanks

No Disaster Stories About Kit Kat?

Wednesday 04th of June 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I just got the Kit Kat update notice from Sprint today. I was rather surprised to see very little posted on the boards about problems or complaints. I did see one post about bluetooth range reduction but that was about it. Did everybody go to the Note 3 already? I gotta believe if I got the Sprint Kit Kat update I must be one of the last to get this ; ) Is everybody happy with the Kit Kat Update? Just taking a peek before I take the plunge... Problems with Kit Kat upgrade on Samsung Galaxy S4.

Sunday 10th of August 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Problems with Kit Kat upgrade on Samsung Galaxy S4. Failing to get a data signal when phone is Switched on (booted up). I have decided to write this and paste it onto any web site or pages I can find belonging to EE in the UK, Samsung and Google Android. Why you might ask, because of the appalling behaviour of these companies and the total lack of help and assistance I received, so that others can learn form my experience and hopefully, this will help them. I bought this Galaxy S4, which is by the way, a brilliant phone and overall I am happy with it, in Feb 2014. I had owned it for approximately 6 weeks when the first of two Kit Kat upgrades arrived. In that first 6 weeks I had absolutely no problems and everything worked perfectly. I should point out that I am a secure type of person, so my phone has a SIM lock set up and a Phone lock, both requiring pin's to be entered. These both worked perfectly for the whole of the first 6 weeks and in fact I had an SII before that and had operated the same way for 2 years. Also, this phone is 4G and in central London phone and data signals we
