Problems After Updating To Kit Kat

Sunday 08th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ever since I updated to Kit Kat (I updated using APK) I have been having issues with Gmail syncing. Sometimes it will update with new emails but most of the time I have to manually drag down to check for mail (and it usually says "no connection" the first time I do it) and then the second time it will show all my new emails. Other times it gives me a push notification of new email and it will be 10 emails, some of them hours old. Also is anyone else having issues with the GPS since the update, mine is having a lot of problems locating. Thanks for the help.

DNS issue after Kit-Kat upgrade--solved!

Sunday 08th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello. I searched extensively among the Kit Kat issues threads and did not find one that was exactly like mine, so I'm posting the symptoms I was experiencing and the way I eliminated them. I had the Nexus 7 2013 for approximately a month before installing the OTA Kit Kat upgrade. I experienced none of the following issues when I was running stock Jelly Bean. Issues experienced after the OTA Kit Kat (4.4) upgrade: intermittent inability to connect to Google Playintermittent inability to connect to YouTubeintermittent failure of Feedly to load new posts, or posts loaded without imagesintermittent inability to load web pages (no connection or DNS error listed)intermittently would load only text of a web page, not imagesintermittently would load unformatted text of a web page The above web page issues were mainly experienced with Chrome, but I tried Dolphin and FireFox with similar results. The point its, *sometimes* all would work well. No problems. Then the above issues would occur for a while (a few hours) then disappear again. I cleared the cache and did a factory reset, but neither

New Nexus 7 (2012)...Best way to upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.4 Kit Kat

Monday 16th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Just purchased a new Nexus 7 (2012). This is my first tablet. It comes preinstalled with 4.1.2. From what I can see the Kit Kat 4.4 O/S is available for my device. I have read how many people have had problems with their device after the upgrade. I also assume most people are upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4. What do you think the best way to upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.4? Is there a better place to download from than another? Should I upgrade to 4.3 before 4.4? Will my device just do the upgrade automatically? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here we is. Kit Kat 4.4.2 rom STABLE!!!

Saturday 04th of January 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
found this on xda. ---- neither i nor the developer take any responsibility for any problems that might occur. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way. This is the fourth kit kat rom that I have tried..Cm, D Hacker, Aokp.. all buggy.. This build appears to be quite stable.. camera works quite well.. bluetooth, i could not tell ya.. never use it.. but everything else seems to be rock solid, and quite fluid.. Unfortunately you loose root afterwards, but a bit of coding will get you back.. nice to be on the the same build as the N5 with superior battery life...BTW the build is 4.4.2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our maxx will be receiving kit kat... just about 3 months from now from soviet red.. but in the mean time hope it works... btw you need to be on the most recent build of twrp.

Kit Kat for Canada

Tuesday 18th of March 2014 / androidforums.com
Just downloaded it for my cell on the Rogers network up here, and no hiccups thus far. I haven't really had a chance to test the battery drain to see if there is anything new but will do so at some point tomorrow perhaps. My biggest worry is that I would lose usage of my SD card and this did not happen at all. I did move all my apps (games, music only) to device storage in case, and also left my music folder on my SD card...nothing happened, and I can still move any eligible app to the SD card after Kit Kat without any problems. Perhaps certain apps have the issue, but I haven't had one.
