CONFIRMED: Kingo Root and SS work After Latest VZW Note 3 Update!

Wednesday 06th of November 2013 / droidforums.net
The verdict is still out as to whether Kingo App is anything other than a malicious virus ridden software, or an innocent one click root method for many devices. If you do decide to use this app you should do so at your own risk. This root method is completely close sourced so we aren't sure of everything contained with in it. If this bothers you then steer clear. If you don't mind your data potentially being at risk this method is a one click method that works for a long list of devices. It has been confirmed via an XDA thread that this method will work with the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 after the latest OTA update. SafeStrap will also still work after you take the update and root with Kingo App. This is pretty awesome that SS still works after the update. Hopefully Hashcode and other developers will get 2nd init working on this device soon so we can get to flashing roms. Via XDA

Kingo Root on Windows 8.1

Tuesday 10th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
I am trying to root my Verizon Ellipsis 7 and have read that Kingo will do that. I am in USB debug mode and have Kingo installed on Windows 8.1. My tablet shows that I am connected to my PC but Kingo only says "connecting" for a bit and then it tells me to connect my device. Anyone else know how I can root this tablet...I just want to delete bloat ware and play around with it a bit?!?Thanks

Kingo Root.

Thursday 19th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Does anyone have any experience with the root tool Kingo Root? I found this through some googleing and can't really find any identifying facts about it. Some forums say its malware some say go for it an it works. According to the web site this tool supports many different types of phones and with the wife's GS4 not sure if I want to use it after the last OTA update and there is no root for that phone after the update that I can find.

[HOW TO] Note 3 Update to MJE OTA From Any Build Then Root and Install SafeStrap!

Saturday 11th of January 2014 / droidforums.net
If you have been reluctant to update your Galaxy Note 3 to the latest build in fear that you may loose root forever... I don't blame you. I have always advised against taking official updates from Verizon since they generally block all exploits with each update, however MJE won't block the Kingo Root method. This is because kingo is closed source and they have done an excellent job of keeping their exploits from the OEMs. That being said if you are currently rooted and have safestrap installed you will find that it is impossible to update to MJE via an OTA update. You could easily Odin back to stock then take the update then root via kingo. Droidforums users "KaChow" has put together an in depth tutorial on his tested method of getting your Note 3 to stock MJE and then root. His three step process makes things nice and easy. Check his guide in the thread link below. Guide and Downloads Here

Kingo Root Repeatedly Failing

Tuesday 25th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I know there's been several threads like this and I apologize, but I can't root my phone using Kingo. I've tried a different cable, different USB slot, debugging is on, Verify apps via USB is off, Verify apps is off, etc etc. Any suggestions for what has worked for others? Using an HP Envy 15 Notebook, Win 8.1.

Kingo Root Repeatedly Failing

Wednesday 26th of February 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I posted this in the Verizon forum, figured I'd give it a shot here too. I can't seem to get Kingo to work to root my Verizon Note 3. I've tried using a different cable, different computers (Win 7/8), made sure debugging was on, allowed apps from outside sources, unchecked verify apps via USB, etc etc. This is getting really frustrating, and any help would be a godsend! AT&T Note 3: Kingo Root - Be Careful!!

Tuesday 04th of March 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Just an FYI: I used Kingo and it worked great on MJ5, but when I was ready to upgrade the firmware to NB4, I unrooted, factory reset and then tried to upgrade...it would not let me, kept stopping at 25% then fail. Now, when I was rooted, I uninstalled all the AT&T apps that I did not need, no important system files. When I did the unroot and reset, those apps didn't come back. I called AT&T and they tried pushing the FW upgrade, it downloaded, but still would not install. Point being here, be careful, because I think Kingo did something that it was not supposed to. I then, with limited patience left, was turned on to this That link re-flashed my stock MJ5 Rom and as soon as it was completed, I was able to ungrade to the NB4 FW with no issues! Be careful with this rooting method. PS: I never thought I'd be excited to see my at&t bloatware back on my device! LOL
