[ICS][4.0.4][NEXUS S] ICS 4.0.4 Factory Image Installation

Friday 06th of April 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
What is this FASTBOOT method exactly? Fastboot is a method provided by the Android SDK of talking to your device and flashing stock "images" or OS. It also can be used to flash a custom recovery or a different radio. Note: This method will also work in the event your rooted and need to restore to factory/unroot Warning, I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device. I have the Sprint NS4G so I can not test this personally but the methods are basically the same. Nexus S (AT&T) ICS 4.0.4 IMM26D Optional FASTBOOT Method Install Setup/install your drivers :: 1. Download 2. Unzip & launch "SDK Manager.exe" 3. Cancel the first popup & go to "Available packages" > "Third party Add-ons" > "Google Inc." 4. How to Update Nexus S 4G to Android ICS 4.0.4 IMM76 Firmware

Saturday 21st of April 2012 / android.gs
Google’s Samsung Nexus S 4G ain’t seeing the light of day regarding official Android updates, but fear not, as we are here with a guide that shows you how to update the Samsung Nexus S 4G to the latest Android ICS 4.0.4 firmware. The update that this tutorial is using runs under the name of ICS 4.0.4 IMM76D Update and is a leak of the official Android ICS 4.0.4 for the Samsung Nexus S 4G.As you’ve probably seen in my precedent how-to’s, I like to keep things simple, so let’s get going. We are not responsible for your actions.Backup your phone’s data as I think you’ll need it (irony detected).Charge the battery to a minimum of, let’s say 80% (I prefer 100%).Enable USB Debugging (Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging) be sure to have the checkbox checked. Now let’s get to the real deal and install the Android ICS 4.0.4 Update on the Google Samsung Galaxy S 4G.Install the Nexus S 4G drivers on your PC so that everything runs smooth with no errors.Download the Android ICS IMM76D 4.0.4 Update and Odin.Turn off your phone and boot it in Download Mod

USB Mass Storage Question

Wednesday 06th of June 2012 / droidforums.net
Background:I have a car with a built in USB port in the OEM radio. With this USB port i can play music as long as the USB deivce (USB stick, Hard Drive etc) is formatted FAT32. Previously I had a Droid X and with that set to USB Mass Storage it worked just fine. It would scan the removable SD card and find the music and then I would have selections on the radio for Artist, Genre, Album, Song and Random. If i connected the Droid X to my Windows Computer i only had one drive added and that had the contents of the removable SD card. Now move to the Droid 4. If I set it for USB Mass Storage and connect it to my computer i now get three (3) drives show up 1. Moto Cast as a CD Drive format 2. MOT as a FAT32 format (internal storage) and 3. Removable Disk as FAT32 format (removable SD Card) So now my car is not seeing the Removable SD drive it is seeing the Moto Cast Drive which is in CD format and will not recognize either of the other memory locations (internal or removable) So my question is. Is there any way to make the removable SD card the first storage device seen by the USB port in m

Why no Settings > More settings > 'USB Utilities'...on GS3 w/ ICS 4.0.4?

Friday 26th of October 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
'USB Utilities' ...was under [Settings > More settings >] on the Skyrocket I had for a couple weeks before swapping it for the GS3. My wife's Galaxy Note (also running ICS 4.0.4) has 'USB Utilities' under [Settings > More settings >], so why doesn't the GS3, I'm wondering? Instead there's: 'Kies via Wi-Fi'. Like they're trying to force persuade (via sublimable suggestion?) user's to use Kies. So then, with the GS3 we don't need the 'Connect via USB' & 'Mass Storage Device Connected' & 'Disconnect USB Mass Storage'

USB Mass Storage Mode 4.1.1 (root?)

Tuesday 09th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So my sister accidentally deleted the folder with all her pictures on her HTC One X 4.1.1, and while we are finding many sites on how to recover the photos, apparently, it can't be done without USB Mass Storage Mode. As it turns out (I'm sure many of you know this by now), 4.1.1 no longer features USB Mass Storage Mode. She has tried the app Dumpster, and many tutorials on recovering loss data on HTC One X, but none of them work. Does anyone know of a sure fire way to recover the photos? Is there a root that offers USB Mass Storage Mode, and if so, will rooting her phone allow her to recover the deleted photos? Any help on this will be truly appreciated.
