Latest GetGlue update for Android brings new Streams, Real-Time Conversation and Guides

Tuesday 31st of January 2012 / androidspin.com
¬†GetGlue fans rejoice! Your favorite social check-in app just got a little bit cooler, thanks to the latest update that just hit the Android Market today. If you’ve never tried GetGlue, it’s a social application from¬†AdaptiveBlue, that lets you check-in to TV, movies, music and other types of happenings or topics. The app features a unique rewards system and awards users with discounts that can be unlocked upon check-in, as well as collectible swag, in the form of nifty little stickers that GetGlue mails out to you for free.I’ve been a longtime user and fan of the service, so I was quite pleased to find a message from GetGlue PR today, informing me that the latest update is now available. In the new version, users will find a new Stream system, which gives users a visual stream of check-ins from other GetGlue users and people on your friends list. The comments overlaid on top of the images inspire the discovery of new shows, movies and music through friends. You can vote and reply on any check-in right from the stream or tap the entry to get more details. Also incl

4.1.2 update failed, now I can't install it

Sunday 10th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Rooted but stock I got the update message today and tried to install. I ended up in a loop that kept telling me the zip I was trying to install from was unverified, so it wouldn't install. Anyway, now I can't find anything to click on to install the update, and my phone says it's up to date with 4.1.1. Edit: I've also just discovered that after a reboot, my phone immediately becomes unresponsive once it gets past the lock screen. It was working fine all day after the failed update, and until I just tried rebooting.

Droid 2.2 update -Replacement phone not pulling up Facebook

Thursday 16th of September 2010 / droidforums.net
HI there... I JUST joined this forum tonight and need help from all of you experts out there. I had my Droid since the new year and over the 9/11 weekend it got wet. Went through Asurion n got a replacement phone. In the interim, I got an email from Verizon that the 2.2 update had occurred. Just got my replacement phone today and was on with Verizon Reps, then Motorola reps (1 1/2 hours now). Facebook will NOT work for me. It syncs and shows my name and the icons on the main screen "News Feed, Friends, Photos, etc.." When I try to click on News Feed, it says Loading Content and then an error message scrolls and says "An error had occurred while fetching data [null]". The reps had me remove the Facebook app from the sync and then try again. I even did a Google search, typed in Facebook and (touch.facebook.com) and tried logging in that way..and it said my Username/Password was invalid. Could my FB account be some way linked to my OLD Droid that is incapacitated at the moment? ANY help is appreciated! Txs

2.3.6 update, clockwork mod recovery error

Friday 11th of May 2012 / androidforums.com
I got the update message for what is apperantly 2.3.6. When it goes to restart, it boots into a clockwork mod recovery menu. Hitting the first option (reboot or something like that) causes it to reboot but the update doesn't work.Complicating things are that the menu, search, back, and home buttons seem to be how you navigate this screen. Today I tried again to update, same thing happened, I noticed it had an option to "apply update from SD card," but accidentally selected the same option "reboot" because I hit the wrong button. Now when I search for an update, it says I can't search again for 24 hours.I'm in over my head a bit. Applying the update from the SD card sounds like I should be safe, but considering I've messed this up twice now, I should ask.EDIT: Carrier is AT&T, rooted with superoneclick.

Very laggy after ICS update today :( Galaxy S2

Wednesday 16th of May 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi All,I have a Galaxy S2 white a UK user on O2, and today i got the ICS Firmware update notification after syncing with Kies. I was quite excited as heard a lot about it and have been waiting ages . After i installed it, things were fine. restarted the phone. and when to send a whats-app message and the keyboard was appallingly slow and was having to press that bit harder for the phone to recognize my thumb. On the old firmware this was very easy and only had to browse my thumb over the screen barely touching it and it would recognize, but not now. The major change of the phone i quite like, like the swipe unlock etc but the overall running of the phone now is horrid, even just scrolling through apps it's so so laggy. a few games are quite laggy as well which should not happen. Is this something that a lot of people are getting or just a few, or just me? This probably has been covered, so apologies if this has. If this is a major thing that's happening to most people, then can i revert back to the older firmware or am i stuck with it? or is there a way to get rid of the lag?Any help

For those that got the OTA GB update - get your new phone

Friday 23rd of September 2011 / forums.androidcentral.com
I like everyone else who got the GB OTA update a week or two ago have had nothing but issues. For me it was issue with an even more decreased battery life, Apps not working, Sound Rocker on the phone changing to some hideous sounding monstrocity, Text message issues. The display of course was listed as a 4 inch screen when it wasnt and I now had access to Sprint apps on the market. I decided to do a factory reset to see if that would help my issues. But like I have read elsewhere it just came back with the same version of the OS that I didnt want. I finally called verizon and informed them of all of my issues, Informed them that I already did a factory reset, and informed them (nicely) that I was getting tired of paying for a phone that wasnt working as it should do to no fault of my own. They informed me (after getting to 2nd level support) that they are replacing all Droid Incredible phones that have recieved this update with Incredible 2's. My call was placed yesterday and my phone will be at my house today before 3pm. I just figured I would share this with those that are havin

Strange Message on 'software update'

Thursday 14th of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi folks, hope someone can help with this. Today I took delivery of my new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from Amazon in the UK. I thought I would check for a software update in case there might be one. The message I got back said 'Your device has been modified - software updates are not available.' This seems strange, is it something I should worry about? Any help appreciated. wifi problem after pushed software update today

Monday 06th of January 2014 / androidforums.com
I got the message this morning to install the update while at work. Right after install finished and rebooted i noticed that the wifi didnt come on. I looked in wifi settings and it was stuck in a loop connecting and disconnecting, but it never would get an ip adress from server. I clicked forget and turned phone off and pulled battery. Then added the wifi network back. It connected and worked, until i got out of range then it would not reconnect again. I tried over again 10 times and it keeps doing this. I installed fxr fix wifi program from app store still not working. My wifi is working fine at my house.the wifi type is PEAP with enterprise login and passwordanyone have any other suggestions? Thanks
