Android 2.2 Froyo FRF83 OTA build now out for Nexus One

Thursday 24th of June 2010 / talkandroid.com
There’s another build of Froyo out for Nexus One users: FRF83. The OTA update is available to be downloaded here, and can then be applied manually. Be warned, though… this build will only work if you are coming from FRF50 (in which case you should also check for an OTA update by dialing *#*#2432546#*#* from your phone). If you try to update from FRF72, the update will fail out.Nexus One owners who try this, let us know how you fare in the comments.[via xda-developers]For more information on Android and the current Android mobile phones, check out our Android GuidesAndroid 2.2 Froyo FRF83 OTA build now out for Nexus One

HTC OTA Rollout of Froyo Android 2.2 Completed by Christmas

Tuesday 06th of July 2010 / androidheadlines.com
HTC has made it clear that all of their newly released phones will get an update to Android 2.2 (Froyo), but given a rocky history when it comes to getting the latest version of Android to their phones (we’re looking at you, HTC Hero) a promised update hasn’t always necessarily equated to a timely update. HTC public relations man Eric Lin is now asserting that HTC would like to get the Android 2.2 updates out of the way by Christmas. Let me check my calendar, because I believe that’s about five months away. Not to say that some phones may not see the update sooner — the HTC Desire is already rumored to be getting Froyo in August (no doubt partly thanks to its status as the fraternal twin to the Nexus One) — but this leaves a lot of wiggle room for HTC to secure the update for phones like the HTC Droid Incredible and HTC EVO 4G, two of their hottest Android phones. Of course, “before Christmas” could mean updates as soon as in the next few weeks (that’s before Christmas, right?), but for some reason we feel like we indeed would sooner see a ROM from Santa and his team o

Android 2.0 Donut Build Released: Multitouch, Universal Search, Better Performance

Monday 27th of July 2009 / androidcentral.com
Android 2.0 Donut has been made available to developers and it’s an oh so lovely update—we can expect full multitouch, universal search, automatic backups, text-to-speech, a new camera application and even better performance. All these new features make Android all the more appetizing and certainly puts it on par with the newer features of iPhone 3.0 and the Palm webOS.What’s perhaps most interesting is that Android 2.0 has added CDMA support, which means carriers such as Sprint and Verizon will be able to get in on the Android action. May we see a Sprint HTC Hero like earlier reports suggested? We know T-Mobile isn’t getting it.Hopefully we can get a working build of Donut onto a T-Mobile G1, we might be even more excited for Donut than we were for Cupcake. What about you guys?[engadget]

Thanks - Android HelpA post from an employee is not official confirmation. That's all im saying. like I said, id be surprised if it changes from FRF50. If im wrong ill stand corrected and you can all have a good laugh at my expense.I can't see any major changes with the new build, if that is the case. Of course they will fix the minor bugs that followed, but I can't see the final build being any different than that of the manual updated version floating around. There are WiFi problems, SD Card issues and other known issues that users have reported. Hopefully they release the OTA update soon. Maybe after the Apple conference?! :nexusx:
