HTC One Drivers/Using Helium & Sync Manager

Sunday 05th of May 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
So I just got a Sprint HTC One and am trying to get all of my apps over to it using Koush's Helium (Carbon). I backed everything up with the old GNex, and when I open Helium on the One it tells me to use the desktop application. So I downloaded that, installed the drivers he points to on the site, and plugged in the phone. The phone recognizes it's connected bc it shows the USB and debugging icons, and the computer recognizes it as well because the One shows as a portable device in the My Computer window and I am able to go in and navigate the folders. The problem is that Helium still says "To enable helium on your Android, please connect it to USB." His site also suggested downloading HTC's Sync Manager so I did that and am still having the problem. The computer recognizes the phone, but Sync Manager does not. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and both Helium and Sync Manager, but nothing has worked and I am not having much luck finding help in any of the forums. Any ideas?

HTC One X+ odd sync manager mount?

Monday 18th of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
When I plug my new HTC One X+ into my Win7 PC via USB, the usual response is that a CD drive appears under "Computer" with the name "HTC Sync Manager". If I open that, it appears to be an actual installation CD for the HTC Sync Manager. Virtually every time, no other entry appears under "Computer" ... unless I reboot the phone while it is attached via USB. In that case, "HTC One X+" appears under "Portable Devices" in addition to the above mentioned CD mount. Why is that CD mount happening? Does the device actually contain that Sync Manager software, which it somehow mounts as a CD? Is there any way to permanently stop that from happening? The HTC Sync Manager is useless for my purposes - I want only to sync the songs in a certain iTunes playlist, but the sync manager can only be pointed to a list of directories for syncing - I use iSyncr for that. Worse still, it is only through the use of the "HTC One X+" portable device that I can access the device's internal storage to copy files, so if it doesn't show up, it isn't possi

sync manager hanging (large music library)

Sunday 09th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have a large itunes library (over 250 Gigs). Sync manager seems to work ok (it took a while to load my library... 30 mins or so, but it finished). However, when I connect my HTC One, sync manager freezes. Does anyone know if this is due to the size of my itunes library, or some other issue

HTC Sync Manager for the One

Sunday 30th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I got my HTC One four days ago and I love it to bits. My problem? The Sync Manager. Since last night, it would crash every time I tried to sync my phone to it. Based on what I'm finding in the forums, this is a highly common problem. I would like to remove the media I placed on there with the manager and delete it for good. Is there anyone who knows how to do this without going through the program? Also, are there any recommendations on software I can use to sync my phone? If not, I can continue with the copy and drop method I'm on a PC with 64-bit Windows 7. -- Rin

HTC One Sync Manager Crashes

Saturday 06th of July 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi all,Having nightmare time with my HTC One, moved from iPhone 4/iTunes which worked flawlessly. HTC Sync Manager keeps crashing/closing with no error message. Get the splash screen, the main program, then finding media and then closes. When I attach the phone it loads then says the phone is locked (which it is not) and crashes (no error message).I cannot sync any contacts, calanders, music - although it did briefly get some contacts over at one stage. Support have no idea and say this has never happened before. They got me to uninstall all HTC elements and reinstall without any firewall, AV and offline (net). No luck. I have Windows 7 64 bit with a quad core 8GB RAM. Would really love to get this phone working. iTunes worked without any issues. I get the feeling HTC Sync Manager is not the best programmed in the world...Thanks everyone.

HTC One Sync Manager Load iTunes music to phone?

Tuesday 09th of July 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi All: I am new to smart phones - not new to the technology, but work requires me to use a Dumberry for security reasons and I did not until now see the reason/have the motivation to drag along another device. I have been using a 2nd Gen iPod touch for about three years and I love it. Its so small it can be in your pocket without noticing it, so slender, sexy almost, in its design, but also at three plus years, the processor is getting outdated, it's slowing down and Apple continues to make changes to their software that I dislike. It was for these reasons I started a search for a device outside the close Apple world to replace it. I wanted a decent camera, fast browser, mobile internet, and I thought, a big screen to maximize my viewing experience with the apps such as newspapers mags and online media. My search led me to the HTC One. It is a nice device, that has some really big problems. This is not the thread to list them all, but I do have one deal-breaker-sell-the-phone-on-ebay and run screaming into the nearest apple store to plunk down $600+ on an iPhone 5 question: How do I

HTC Sync Manager recognizes old DNA but not new one

Thursday 19th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Weirdness: I just activated a new DNA, after having some problems with my old one. (Actually, this makes DNA #5, but that's neither here nor there.) And now I'm trying to restore my backup to the new DNA using Helium. The problem is that HTC Sync Manager, which picks up the old phone just fine, doesn't recognize the new one - which is apparently a prerequisite for Helium to work. I've tried all manner of restarts/plugging/unplugging/USB connection settings recommended in a similar thread on the HTC One forum. But all I get is that crazy "No phone connected" message. Anyone successfully identify or overcome this yet?

HTC One Synch Manager and Video

Thursday 24th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have need to pull video off my phone for a class on a weekly basis. A big reason I stuck with HTC was the due to my experience with the original Evo and Evo 3d, I simply connected my phone to the computer, mounted the disk drive as an external hard drive and BAM, drag and drop video from phone on to the computer/ WHY HAVE I LOST THIS ABILITY ON MY NEW HTC ONE? The Synch manger is simply awful. It gets stuck at 91% completion every single time I plug in my phone. It never pulls the video off of my phone before it locks up. I love my phone but I would never have purchased it if I knew how bad this part of the experience was going to be. Uploading a video file over WIFI simply is stupid. It takes way too long. I am currently uploading one from my phone to Google Drive. It has been 30 minutes and and it has uploaded 135 mb. Is there ANY way to mount my phone as an external hard drive the way I used to do? Otherwise, it may be time to take this phone back. SO frustrated.
