XP laptop won't connect to s3 hotspot
Sunday 29th of July 2012
Just moved back to the states from overseas and decided to buy a smartphone that could act as a hotspot for my home Internet needs. So I got a galaxy S3.I am able to turn the S3 hotspot on and my iPad and iPod touch both can connect and use the internet but my laptop can't even when I set the hotspot to an open connection with no WPA key. Just two days ago when I was at a friends house I could connect with my laptop to their network but I can't connect to the S3 hotspot. When I try connect to a wireless network, my computer can see the S3 hotspot, and it tries to connect, but then it just stops.I think the issue is with the laptop but I have no idea how to fix it.Any ideas? If it helps the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 6000.Windows XP Media Center EditionService pack 3Thanks for your help!

WiFi hotspot through my S3
Saturday 01st of June 2013
Hello,I just ordered my Nexus 10 after quite a bit of back and forth research between the N10 and the Tab2. I often use my Samsung Galaxy S3 as a wifi hotspot at work to connect to my last netbook. Seeing as how the N10 is WiFi compatible and I have never had an issue I am not anticipating a problem. Has anyone used the N10 to connect to the internet through their phone hotspot? Any problems?

Can't get Bluetooth tethering (S3 mini to XP) to work
Wednesday 03rd of July 2013
Hi, everyone,I am a bit stumped trying to Bluetooth tether my Samsung Galaxy SIII mini to my XP laptop. The phone and laptop are paired correctly, but when I double-click the Network Service icon in "my Bluetooth places" on the laptop, I get an error message ("The remote device closed the connection"). Bluetooth Tethering has been enabled in the phone's Settings menu.I have tried to manually add a network connection on the laptop, and to use the phone as a dial-up device, but I keep getting errors staying that the service is not supported by the remote device (i.e. the phone).Google comes up with tons of manuals on how to USB tether my phone to my laptop, but I can't find anything for Bluetooth.Yes, I could use the phone as a portable WiFi hotspot (which will sort me out in a pinch for the moment) but that's not really what I want.Am I overlooking something obvious here? All pointers into the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
